“We stayed in the Annex of La Quinta of which the rooms were located inside and accessed by downstairs door and hallway. This was more of a hotel room experience than the usual doors all outside. The hotel staff was all very courteous and the complimentary breakfast had a decent spread. The rooms were very clean and my little guys were thrilled to come back and see the beds made with their blankets laid out for them.”

“We were left standing outside of our room waiting for help because the key did not work. Not something we were thrilled about after spending our days at sea world! Rooms were no more special than a moderate hotel. Most La Quinta has better room amenities and free delicious continental breakfasts.”

“The location of this economy hotel is located in a low income area of the city. It is not convenient to any tourist attractions and is priced on the same level as many others who were much closer to the Downtown area. The room was musty, the toilet was broken and the bathtub appeared to not been cleaned in quite a while. Strongly recommend looking elsewhere.”

“The hotel was very convenient to the highway, the staff was pleasant and helpful. I liked the movie selection and the fact you could see a movie playing in the theaters. Even thought it was a smoking room it didn't smell like one, which I appreciate very much. I will definitely stay there again.”

“Dirty hotel. The ice machine was leaking water and had soaked about 50 square feet of carpet in the hallway. The whole hallway smelled strongly like mildew. Breakfast was dirty as well. Dirty utensils and serving plates.”

“The location on I-35 is great for the outlet mall and water parks. On the downside, if you're close to the highway, you can get road noise at night. The exterior hallway door security lock was broken; anyone could have walked in at any hour. The hotel used an antiquated key system; I had to go ask for help to figure out how to use it. The toilet tank in our bathroom was overflowing when we checked in. I fixed it myself when the front desk said it would be a while before they could get someone to look at it. That problem wasn't new; the maid had to have seen it and didn't bother to get it fixed. The wireless internet signal was too weak and intermittent in our room, front desk was no help. The free breakfast was not appetizing; we went to IHOP and spent $45 on breakfast. The room was spacious, and the beds were ok. Bathroom counter was really small, no room for toiletries. The lack of attention to the obvious little things (food, toilet overflowing) seems to be representative of hotels in this area. I have yet to stay at a hotel in the San Marcos/New Braunfels area that really knew how to run their business properly to make you want to come back.”

“Overall everything was fine except for the extra safety lock or swinging lock (looks like a brass piece) toward the top of the door. A couple of the screws were loose. It did not seem to pose a security issue but it did not look very good. I let the front desk know about it.”
