“We've stayed at this hotel before, that's why we decided to stay there again. Convenient to downtown activities and can ride trolley or Metro to your downtown destinations. Has a good breakfast, eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, etc. not just a continental breakfast, for a small charge. Nice comfortable bed and fold out sofa bed, if you need the extra bed. Wireless internet connection. The only thing bad was the maid did not replenish the toiletries and wash rags, but other than that very nice place to stay.”

“Overall, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very clean, and I am particular. Decor is upscale, room spacious. The train only went by once all night, and it was not bad. I do wish someone from the front had come up immediately, though, when I called about the noise from the teen group. After the teens stopped running, singing at the top of their lungs, dancing with a large group and yelling and slamming doors, their leaders grouped in the hall till 11:30 p.m. and talked and laughed loudly outside my door, even after I had asked them kindly 2 hours before to please go to their rooms if they wanted to talk all night as we had a 5: 30 am wake up to catch our flight. By the time someone from the desk went to talk to them, it was very late. I saw another reviewer had a similar problem another time. Perhaps in the future with such groups, problems could be avoided if the leaders were told on check in or made to sign an agreement that groups cannot congregate or have conversations in the halls, and all group activities should take place in the lobby or elsewhere. More hotel than I expected for the money, as I have paid twice the amount for rooms not as clean or with such nice decor, but I do not know if I had stay there again with an early flight planned unless I had some sort of guarantee first that a large group of teens would not be on our floor. My teen and toddler could not sleep, and neither could I.”

“I loved the character of the hotel, and the location was great. The rooms are on the small side and the food was not good! My biggest complaint was no swimming pool, so it would be fine for business travel but not for families or even couples.”

“Everything was well with the trip other than finding out our vehicle stolen from the hotel parking lot on the morning we were to check out and the surveillance cameras were out of order. The hotel manager wouldn't offer any courtesy for my family unless we wanted to pay for another night at the hotel.”

“It was very nice. However the only complaint is that it is right next door to a train station and they come through seems like every hour blowing their horns. Other than that it was excellent.”

“We were in san Antonio for an event at the Alamo dome, 1 block from the hotel, arrived early, before check in time, was graciously allowed to leave our car in the hotel parking lot while we went sightseeing. Staff extremely helpful, the river walks only 2 blocks, Alamo 3 blocks, trolley station less than a block. Beautifully restored historic hotel all new amenities. Highly recommend. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to San Antonio.”

“The good things are It's friendly staff, $3.19usd breakfast buffet and 15min walking distance to famous Riverwalk area. The really bad thing is that It is located right besides a railroad crossing. Every 2 hours the train must sound its horn as It gets closer and closer to the crossing. Also street car racers use the hwy 37 on ramp in front of the hotel every night. The extra loud mufflers kept everyone awake.”

“This was a super clean, safe, and friendly place to stay. It was right by a trolley stop and very convenient to all sights. The beds were super comfortable and decor was beautiful. We even liked the trains going by. Added to the ambience. Staff people were super nice and helpful. Great breakfast buffet for a small price. I would definitely stay here again.”

“It was very clean and the staff very friendly, The buffet breakfast was very good for $3.19. It was close to the trolley that goes to the river walk; roundtrip was only $1.00 per person.”

“The best western sunset suites is in decent walking distance to the san Antonio river walk, and has very spacious rooms and an inexpensive breakfast buffet. The staff is very courteous, commerce street is easily accessed at either end of the building, and the guest laundry was clean and convenient.”

“I thought it was a very good value with free parking and easy access to the River Walk, Alamo, and downtown San Antonio via the trolley. Riding the trolley was convenient and an adventure that I thought added rather than detracted from the experience. The room was well equipped with king-size bed, refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot, desk, sleeper sofa, and internet access.”
