“Other than the horrible valet, and the linen that did not feel clean, the hotel was bearable. The linen on the bed felt like it had sand in it, as if they didn't wash it between guests. The valet actually gave my keys to another guest at the hotel. It took 15 minutes to figure out where they were. The hotel did not seem kid-friendly. This is better suited to couples/business travelers. It was great that the hotel was located very close to several different attractions including the Alamo. All-in-all it would be bearable, if they lose the valet employees, get clean sheets, and make it a little more kid-friendly.”

“The Crockett Hotel much surpassed my expectations! From the moment I checked in, the experience was positive. Front desk called me by name each time he saw me and all the staff made my stay more than comfortable! The location was prime just blocks from anything a family, business traveler, sightseer, or party girl could want! We walked or took the trolley (a block from the front door) everywhere. Never needed a cab. The rooms were exceptionally clean, even the corners of the bathrooms were spotless. The rooms had a special charm with warm colors and comfortable beds. I will definitely stay at the Crockett Hotel again and recommend it to friends and family.”

“The rooms are very small, the shower didn't work well. The location is perfect in the center of all San Antonio attractions and just behind the Alamo. It has free high speed internet access (no wireless). The staff is very friendly. Free hot continental breakfasts. The valet parking is $25 and free street parking is hard to find during the day. Overall it is a decent value for the money.”

“The room with double beds was a good size. Updating in the room was done in a tasteful, economical way. Room was very clean and the HVAC system was easy to use and worked well. We were happy with the continental breakfast. Valet backs up at peak hours as the drive is narrow. Some smoke smell from the bar finds its way into the common areas on the first floor. Lobby area is tasteful with comfortable seating.”

“I wasn't thrilled about anything in this hotel. The front desk people acted like it was a bother to check us in making us wait while they filed paperwork for ten minutes at the counter. The Valet parking left cars stacked in the drive unlocked with our shopping bags in the car, and when we called for our car it was never ready. The bar service was terrible, the bartender even left once and we watched him jog down the street to talk to people. Upon returning he preceded to wait on tables who seated after us and served one drink at a time even when numerous people were at the table. He also continued to serve a woman who was clearly intoxicated while she danced on the bar stool and put her feet up on the bar. The maid service was pitiful. We accidentally left the do not disturb sign up, but upon return we called the front desk. The maids were still on our floor and came to clean. There were 4 of them in the room at once. I left them in the room and waited downstairs thankfully as they didn't lock the door,as in they threw the deadbolt and walked away. I could see my open door from down the hallway and was Very upset as all my computer and camera equipment was in the room. They also failed to restock shampoo, soap, etc. And I never could figure out why they thought one wash cloth was enough for my sister and I! I had to ask for an additional one both days we were there. This place missed the Star by a long shot!”

“We asked for a double bed or a rollaway bed. There was no accommodation made for this. The elevator keycard was extremely difficult to work. Stairwell was used for storage. Unfriendly staff. Rude when collecting meal tickets as if you did not pay for it. Not what I expected for rating. Would not recommend this hotel. Did like that it was totally non-smoking.”

“This hotel is in a great location to see San Antonio with the Mall, River walk, and Alamo all under 3 blocks away. Parking is not guaranteed with this hotel, but overnight parking is provided across the street at the mall. This is a great place to stay if youre going for the night life because the beds are very hard. Overall though the room was clean and the staff helpful. I do not believe I could stay here again though due to the beds.”
