“If you want a bed to sleep in and a place to shower this hotel is fine for the price. If you want the bells and whistles of a 5 star hotel look someplace else.”

“If you want to bring in a street escort then this is the place. The only thing good about it is that it's probably the most affordable in downtown San Antonio.”

“The management staff was not concerned about our stay, our return visits. As stated, we had to spend the night in the airport and manager/owner would not even discount the night we were not in San Antonio, I even called to advise we would not be arriving as the planes were pulled due to FAA. The hotel was in a good location; however we would not stay there again.”

“The best thing about the hotel was that it was close to San Antonio's Downtown attractions, other than that it was old and I had to request a change of room, will rather pay a bit more next time or stay in a different area.”

“San Antonio Alamo Travelodge, San Antonio 405 Broadway, San Antonio, TX; excellent downtown location right across the street from a boarded condemned housing unit. Walking distance to the Alamo, Riverwalk, Convention Center, Trolley, city bus and tour bus stops right outside the hotel if you are not scarred of being assaulted. Free hot breakfast everyday, free USA Today Newspaper Monday-Friday with a strong stomach. Free in room coffee should you decide to actually stay the night. Free parking with a well lit parking area drive up hotel/motel with no covered parking. Outdoor swimming pool, open year round 8 am to 10 pm clean once a year. Guest laundry since you are cleaning out your wallet on this dump, why not let them clean you out. Exterior guest entrance facing the parking lot is that an actual feature. 2 Diamond AAA rating triple a standards must be dropping. Free HBO/ESPN/CNN if the TV is working, if not you will have free blank screen. Downtown diner on property open: (7:00 am 2 pm daily) no comment. Convention Center & Municipal Auditorium nearby not within walking distance, but why should you care your just the customer.”

“Do not stay at this facility! Horrible accommodations! Incredibly rude staff! Located south of downtown not with in walking distance to River Center, Alamo or convention center! Had several customer service issues and would have overlooked the questionable cleanliness, but with lopsided beds, broken TV and un-accommodating staff I could not stay. I asked to be transferred to another location - they refused. To make things worse once I asked to cancel my reservation the customer service representative I was speaking with got her keys to her car, walked out and drove off with out dealing with my request. The other clerk maintained that she could not help me with a transfer or refund. Instructed to call in that following Monday to speak to manager. Called Monday and got hung up on several times. Worst experience I have ever had and will be sure to worn everyone I know about this unfortunate experience.”

“The bed was clean and comfortable, the shower was strong and it was dark and quiet, but the first impression was scary. Outlet hanging from the wall, stained carpet, plugs not in the sink or bathtub.”

“I loved the location of the hotel, but I think the maintenance of the room was poor. I did however see a lot of painting and remodeling of other rooms going on. I would stay at the Alamo Travelodge again but I would ask for one of the newer, cleaner rooms.”

“This hotel was really showing its age and was quite rundown. The best thing it had going for it was that it was within walking distance of the downtown area although I would not recommend doing it at night.”

“I realized we selected an economy hotel for the price we were looking for, but we will never do it again. There was a couch in our room we never sat on because it was not close to clean. We stayed away from our hotel as much as possible, because of the quality of the room and pool area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone interested in traveling to san Antonio. Spend the extra money- you'll be glad you did.”

“Upon arrival paper signs announced wireless network was not functional. Clerk immediately gave us the terms whereby we could cancel the second night but 24 hour notice required for cancellation of first night. Another paper sign stated full breakfast not included. Breakfast offered consisted of some stale looking rolls & pastry. Upon check out we were charged $1 per night for room safe that was not used. Clerk sharply announced it was on the web site. ”

“Overall stay was fine. Was close to the convention center where I attended a photography conference. The hot breakfast included at the on-site restaurant was pretty meager and only served after 7am, which conflicted with convention programs that started at that time in the morning. Also, no arrangements were made for any replacement continental breakfast when the restaurant staff failed to open the restaurant on two mornings.”

“If you can find another hotel in the same price range I would book it. The room was in poor condition, and the advertised Wi-Fi had a very weak signal. I routinely had to step out onto the balcony with my notebook to check emails.”

“Great Location ! Walking or a very short drive to all of the Downtown/River walk areas of interest. Being an older hotel their AC cooling system kept the room very cool especially during a typical Hot San Antonio summer day.”

“I will never stay at this hotel again. When we got there were no towels. We called the front desk and was told to come get our towels. The laundry facility had only 1 washer and dryer which you had to get change to operate them. There was no where near enough parking. We have stayed at cheaper hotels that were 100% better than this hotel.”

“The hotel was close to the sites, but was located near a homeless shelter. My husband and I were not always comfortable walking back at night. Also, the room was not as clean as I am accustomed to when staying at a well-known hotel chain. The breakfast at the nearby restaurant was great, but next time I will stay elsewhere.”
