  • The location, views, and room itself were terrific!
  • Water bottles were way overpriced.

“Pros: Beautiful, luxurious-yet affordable-hotel. The room decor was gorgeous. The bed was so comfy and inviting! Location was excellent; literally a few steps from the Alamo and a short walk from Rivercenter Mall, and other Downtown attractions (Houston St. Is the trendiest street in the area)? The terry cloth robes provided were much appreciated, along with an attentive housekeeping staff. We came back to our room every evening to a tidied-up room and fresh towels and bath sundries. Hotel restaurant, Oro, served delicious fusion dishes, however it was a bit pricey and the place was dead on a Saturday evening. Cons: Our A/C never kicked in, but luckily the weather during our stay was on the cooler side; however, the room reached uncomfortable temperatures during the day/night. Our room, unfortunately, faced two Alamo spotlights that shined right in to our room all night. $5.00 for room-temperature Fiji water is ridiculous! We had a little trouble working the Jacuzzi, but we'll chalk that up to user-error. . Overall, our stay at the Emily Morgan was enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.”

  • Location, helpful staff, comfort.
  • Inflated price due to local event.

“My friend and I booked the hotel for an extended weekend. We were in town for the men's basketball final four. The only room available was a queen bed, so the staff offered us a cot. On the second night of stay, a room with 2 doubles became available and they allowed us to switch room at no additional cost. The first room was quite small, but the room with 2 doubles was spacious. Rooms were clean. Would stay again. No complaints other than the room rates seemed to have been increased due to the event and the $20/day parking should be included in the rate.”

  • Clean and very comfortable beds.
  • $24 parking. Small TVs in room. High tub edge. Poorly lit outside between River walk and hotel.

“The amenities will leave you wanting more. Beds were very comfortable, room was very clean. It was difficult getting in and out of the tub due to it's high (and rough) edge. I didn't like walking from the River walk at night the short two blocks to the hotel. It was poorly lit and creepy quiet.”

  • Location was good and rooms were large.
  • $24 parking fee is outrageous.

“Second time I have stayed at this hotel. Staff is very good, they upgraded me to a king room for free this time. Pool is on East side of building, so no sun in the afternoon. Location is excellent for access to River walk.”

  • The staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful and not condescending.
  • The light on the table did not work.

“The staff was wonderful; friendly, helpful, went out of their way for us. We did use the pool area, but not the exercise area. If I hadn't had younger child with me, I would have taken advantaged of it. The room was very comfortable and would recommend Emily Morgan to my friends and would stay there again myself.”

  • Staff was great and room was very nice.
  • Valet and self parking were the same price. Self parking could have been cheaper.

“Very nice hotel directly across from the Alamo. Staff was very friendly and rooms were nice.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Right across street from Alamo and couple blocks from Riverwalk.
  • Hotel seemed very old and it showed in spots.

“Hotel was an old elegant hotel but needs some renovation. Elevators needed work as did the bathrooms. Location is great and staff was very helpful.”

“Other then a lady getting murdered across the hall and the police involved in a stand off with the guy before finally shooting him, it was a nice night!”

“The staff was super friendly and upgraded our room since it was my birthday! The room was gorgeous and very spacious. The Jacuzzi bath was a wonderful unexpected feature. The hotel is very clean, classy and romantic. I'd love to stay at EM again.”

  • Overall atmosphere.
  • The mix-up with the charges to my credit card.

“This hotel is amazing. I've stayed with them before. This time was a little different because we had a little bit of a mix up with my debit card. All of my money that I had set aside for the trip was "held" because the lady at the desk, I presume, didn't know what she was doing. So I made the best out of my trip with the money I did have. Next time I guess I might have to pay closer attention to how many times my card gets swiped.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[5] • Location:[8]

  • The beds were comfortable.
  • The grout in the shower had mold growing on it.

“This hotel was comfortable, but the parking was less than ideal. There was actually a murder that occurred the night we stayed there, but we had no idea until we had checked out of the hotel, so they did a good job of not disturbing the guests. The Furnishings were nice but the shower and tub was very dated and the grout had mold growing on it. Not a 4 star hotel.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[9] • Location:[7]

  • Its a old hotel.
  • Smells, small, no space, no parking, parking cost high.

“Parking went from 20 to 24 with no notice. I did not even know it was going to be 20 last time I went. The bathroom had no ventilation, the toilet when flushed smelt like sewage. The room was very small. The staff was helpful. Food was good.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[10]

  • Location is perfect for visiting the River walk in San Antonio.
  • Service is extremely slow in both bar in restaurant.

“Hotel is nice, have stayed there before, the elevators are all working now! The staff is not too accommodating (with the exception of the valet staff who are great!). Restaurant food is great but the service is extremely slow, took at least 20 minutes to get a Margarita and there was virtually no one in the restaurant. Margarita was worth waiting for though, rooms are nice, but very cold and climate wouldn't adjust. Bathrooms could use some work. Overall a 3-star instead of a 4-star rating would be recommended.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The staff at Emily Morgan was extremely helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations & personal service!
  • The room was very small & we got stuck on the elevator for 10 min during our stay.

“The Emily Morgan is a very nice hotel located in the heart of all the attractions! We walked to the Alamo and River walk. The valet and lobby staff is awesome! They held the doors, gave recommendations for restaurants, dance clubs, local music spots & directions without us asking. Room service was good. The room was for business travelers rather than vacationers, rather small & cramped.”

“This was not a four star hotel. Rude staff at check-in, tiny room on lower level with view of dirty pool, next to service area - noisy, old bed and sheets, bad valet service.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[1] • Location:[6]

  • Convenient downtown location.
  • Poorest customer service - homicide on premises while there.

“Stay here if you must, otherwise, pick any other location downtown. Customer service is non-existent and hotel has no parking per se.”
