  • The room was very large. Nice view of the Alamo.
  • Charge for Internet.

“The hotel was very nice. We enjoyed being close to several eating place, walking distance to the Riverwalk, Alamo Dome, and the mall. Having a nice big room, and an equally nice big bath with a whirlpool tub exceeded our expectations. We will be happy to stay at the Emily Morgan on our next trip to San Antonio.”

  • Close to where we needed to be.
  • Tiny room, no view, tiny bathroom, staff not friendly .

“ I was excited about staying at the Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio. I heard nothing but great reviews of how romantic and beautiful it was. The bedroom was tiny and outdated. The view was of our parking lot and the biggest disappointment was our bathroom. The bathtub was all but a jacuzzi. The shower curtain leaked and the ceiling was rusty. ”

  • Easy access to riverwalk.
  • Star level didn't reflect the hotel.

“Hotel was not a 4 star good location poor staff, no wireless internet bad for business traveling. Dining was poor, noisy rooms. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

  • The Jacuzzi.
  • No swimming pool or work-out room. Staff didn't say anything about the amenities available.

“This is an older hotel that has been renovated. The comfort of the feather pillows, comforters, etc. is nice, as is the Jacuzzi.”

  • Quaint stories about how people suspected the hotel was haunted, we love that type of stuff.
  • Ice machines are not on every floor, just the even numbered ones.

“The hotel was very clean, staff friendly, and knowledgeable about history of hotel and surrounding area. The rooms were older but furnishings, linens, etc. were all very new and the jacuzzi tub was great and well maintained. You could not fault the view, we were on the 7th floor overlooking the front of the Alamo.”

  • Location.
  • The room was dirty and very small.

“ She refused to give us the king size bed. Our room was tiny, and extremely dirty, no counter space in the bathroom, and mold in the shower. The phone didn't work and the front desk never came to fix it. We used the valet parking, and twice called to have our car brought up front and our car was not brought up front. The valet parking attendant said he had never been given the message. We only saw one other family at the hotel, so they weren't busy. ”

  • They did not clean the room the second day. Toilet was very dirty.

“ Overall it was pretty good. Our room was extremely small. The sheets and beds were very comfortable. But the toilet looked like it needed a good scrubbing with bleach. Our second day, we came back in the evening and the room had not been cleaned nor the bed made. ”

  • The hotel was clean and had beautiful decor.
  • Rooms and beds too small. Air ventilators were noisy.

“Nice hotel, however, I stayed in a 3 star night before this and the rooms were much bigger and beautiful. I got more for the money. It was cheaper yet better.”

  • Staff was very friendly and helpful - did the little thing.
  • Towels not plush.

“This is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in based the staff. They were on top of all the details. Beautiful and romantic hotel. Close to all Riverwalk attractions. Really enjoyed experience.”

  • Location.
  • Parking, no free internet.

“Parking was confusing. No free internet. Not sure it is 4 stars maybe 31/2 stars. Location is great for the Alamo and Riverwalk.”

  • Nice linens and great spaces outside the room.
  • Hole in BR ceiling, cracked and peeling grout.

“A pleasant, but faded glory. The room needed some basic upkeep, but the linens were great and the bar and restaurant pleasant. Pool was locked. Work out room was the size of a big closet.”

  • It was right next to the Alamo and close to the Riverwalk.
  • Parking cost was too much, would rather have stayed in 3 star hotel with free parking.

“One of the girls at the front desk acted very unfriendly and while on the phone was very condescending. Other than her the staff was very nice and helpful. Out room was very small I was expecting more from a 4 star hotel.”

  • Convenience.
  • No parking. Either valet or self-parking was expensive and not well secured.

“Over-rated because of name and location.”

  • The rooms were nice in size.
  • The bathroom doors were transparent. The hot water was only luke warm. The hot tub did not work.

“The hotel was just "OK". It is by far not the worst I have stayed in but it was not the best. It was in a great location, with easy access.”

  • There was really nothing that stood out that we liked.
  • They needed to clean there bath tubs a little better, it was really bad and they need better parking.

“It was OK but we had problems with the room at first, we paid for a upscale room that was on the top floor and they tried putting us in the smallest room. I was not pleased at all. They also need better parking for there customers. I wanted a jacuzzi tub so I made sure the room has one but when I turned it on all this black stuff started to come out, it was really bad. I would not go back to this hotel not for the price I paid.”

“Great hotel and staff! We were traveling with a 9 month old 105 pound Mastiff and did not have any problems. The staff was very accommodating with our special needs.”

  • Large room with comfortable bed.
  • Dirty bedside table.

“Grand old building with lots of history.”

  • Downtown, feather bed topper, good A/C.
  • Rust in the bathroom, noisy room location.

“We were traveling with friends so when we asked for room on the same floor they gave us a larger room but failed to mention it was a handicap room so it was very sterile looking, which I did not like. Bath was huge but doors were not private at all because they were glass. Room was large but not allotted well. Our room was right at the elevator, janitorial storeroom and ice machine which is why it was so loud, other rooms in other areas might not be an issue. The valet parking is expensive at $28 and they charge the same for self parking. The lot is open so not very secure. Hotel restaurant food was tasty but expensive and the hotel seemed a bit deserted. We got an extremely good price via Priceline which made it acceptable. If you're going to San Antonio just to shop stay somewhere else, the Riverwalk area is expensive and unless you just want to enjoy that area specifically there are better bargains to be had and most won't have the same parking issues attached.”

“Cool building with great location to Alamo and Riverwalk.”

  • Centrally located.
  • Staff was just going through routine of working, not friendly or even enthused.

“Really not impressed. You would receive better service and amenities at a La Quinta or Holiday inn express”
