  • Location.
  • Old and tired. Needs to be updated.

“Do not stay at this hotel. While the location is good there are many other hotels in the vicinity that are nicer. We were totally dissatisfied with our stay at the Emily Morgan and will never stay there again.”

  • Location was great. Staff was very helpful. King room is fantastic.
  • Paying for parking is very expensive. I suppose that is the price you pay downtown.

“The staff at the Emily Morgan was very accommodating and always looking to help you out even with directions.”

  • There was very few rooms that were occupied so we had as much privacy as wanted.

“The hotel seemed to be on the verge of closing. Nothing was kept up.”

  • Nothing.
  • Dirty.

“It is very old, and smells of mold and mildew. No continental breakfast, no complimentary coffee in lobby. Rooms are advertised as 'family friendly' and yet, the giant sliding doors separating the bathroom from bedroom area are glass. Very embarrassing for families. It cost $28/night to park car, they charge for Wi-Fi access - and it was very poor signal strength, and we had to pay $8.00 to print our flight boarding passes in the lobby. No free internet computer. Bathroom toilet is in separate room and very dirty, one color paint with stains. No decor. We were very disappointed. The staff was nice but that's not enough. They will give you a very small room with a single double bed in it. If you want or need 2 beds, you have to upgrade the room for $20. Then add the $10 Wi-Fi, the $28 / night parking, and the need to go out to buy breakfast and you're not nearly saving anything. What a waste to an otherwise perfect trip. I would never recommend this hotel. Here's a funny thing no one could explain. The sign in the lobby says Valet parking - $26 dollars. Park yourself - $26. Plus tax of course. Parking the car yourself costs the same as letting them parking it for you.”

  • To far from the river walk.

“Not bad, just that other 4 star hotels are quite a bit nicer, so this is a 4- hotel.”

  • Location and friendly staff.
  • Could of been a little cleaner.

“Nice atmosphere, great location to enjoy the Alamo and the Riverwalk. I would recommend staying at this hotel.”

  • Very pretty setting and decor.
  • Rude staff at check in and dead bugs in the room.

“Upon check in the staff was rude and condescending. The room was nice except for the dead bugs all over the place (window, floor, bathroom and BED). Not what I expected of a 4 star hotel. Will not stay there again.”

  • The extra pillow-top bed liner.
  • Old tube TV/no micro or frig/parking or internet not complimentary.

“I would have been thoroughly disappointed if I paid full price. The beds were the best part of my stay, only because of the extra pillow-top liner they had. Parking was not convenient and cost extra. Internet cost extra. Bottled water cost extra, $5 in case you were wondering. There was no fridge or microwave, and the closet was actually a furniture piece. The TV was an old tube TV, it could have at least been a flat-screen tube TV. The location was great, could only have been better if it was actually on the Riverwalk. I would suggest not making reservations at the Emily Morgan if you are expecting 4-star accommodations as it is advertised. Regarding the price difference, nothing about this hotel made it stand out over more economical accommodations.”

  • Across the street from Alamo.
  • Rude valet, not stopper for tub, jacuzz broke down.

“This hotel deserves no 4 stars, I could not take a bath, the tube had no way to stop water? Left things in room called 4 hours before I had to leave I ended up having to pay for my things to be shipped due to slow response. The Vale parking at $26.00/day made me go and find my car to get things I had left in it upon check in. I would give this hotel half a star.”

  • Very comfortable beds!
  • Parking is expensive for open parking lot!

“Beautiful hotel, nice rooms, comfortable and great location in heart of downtown San Antonio.”

  • Location.
  • $26.00 a day for parking in an unsecured parking lot. Double beds so small my wife and I had to sleep in separate beds.

“The riverwalk was approximately 2 blocks away. The view from our room was of the side of the Federal Court house. The rooms were clean and the beds were small, but fairly comfortable. There was no desk or comfortable chairs. The room had one small table and 2 uncomfortable chairs. This room was not what I would expect of a 3 star deluxe hotel.”

  • Its central location.
  • Its service.

“The hotel is very beautiful. The service isn't so great. Parking is $26 a night and your vehicle is parked in commercial parking lot that has high numbers of vehicle break ins. Room service didn't re-stock our room with any toiletry items all three nights of our stay. Other than that its in a great location.”

  • Neat building.
  • Hot tub was closed.

“It was a neat hotel, I wish it had more of it's history integrated into the update.”

  • Location.
  • Asked if self or valet, we said self and paid 30, on our own and then stiffed 52.00 plus tax.

“Why bother asking if we wanted valet or self and we said self. Husband parked and went every 12 hours to pay for parking and upon checking out saw we were charged 52+tax besides 30 of our own.

  • The location and the room did not smell bad.
  • The price for parking was too high and the business (work) facilities were below expectations.

“The rooms were very small so the work area was not sufficient for my needs. The Jacuzzi was broken and seemed to have been out of service for a good while. The towels were rough and thin. The sheet was too small for my bed and consequently came off several times during the night. The computer and printer (I did not see a fax) were located less than 5' from the TV area.”

  • The rooms were spacious.
  • The rooms did not have the mini-fridge and one of the 2 elevators was not working part of our stay.

“The location is pretty good, next door to the alamo and a couple of blocks from the riverwalk. The staff was friendly. The couple of things that were not so good: No minibar, we could not keep the milk cold for the baby's bottle. One of the elevators was not working, so we had to ask if we could use the service elevator. We had to search for parking on the streets, since the hotel parking was $20 per night.”

  • The hotel was in a great location and was very clean.
  • Dirty pool, broken hot tub, small pool area, small room, and wanted to charge us $30 to upgrade to a king size bed.

“If you are looking for a nice clean hotel within walking distance to the Riverwalk, Alamo and several restaurants, you will love the location. The hotel was very nice, clean and had friendly staff, but our room was very small and they will only upgrade you to a king size bed if you pay an additional $30. The downfall of this hotel is the pool area.”

  • The air conditioning worked great.
  • The maid service was not good.

“I highly recommend this hotel for its close proximity to all the San Antonio tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I will return as often as I can.”

  • The jacuzzi in the room was great.
  • The parking was too expensive.

“We had an overall good experience. The Loss Prevention crew did a good job of notifying us we had left the window in our car open.”

  • Excellent location.
  • Elevators too slow.

“Very nice, old but remodeled hotel. One block form the river and next to the Alamo. Nice and friendly staff.”
