“The location was great. Right next to the Alamo and a short walk to the Riverwalk. The staff was friendly. Though the two times I needed my car and I called ahead to get it. It wasn't waiting for me. The bathroom needed repair the walls had black stuff in the tiles and the tissue holder was cracked and broken, the TV was a little old and it had some static in the picture. The internet is a joke every two minutes you had to reconnect to the wireless signal.”

“The convenience of being able to walk everywhere I needed to go from the hotel was perfect. I was glad not to see a lot of children running around everywhere. But I cannot believe a hotel did not have free wireless. The staff made my trip perfect.”

“This hotel was very nice, comfortable and well-kept. After a mix-up about the room that we were originally given, we were upgraded to the Plaza Suite and given a complimentary cheese/fruit tray for our inconvenience. The view from our room was awesome, as it looked down at the Alamo and the city lights at night were beautiful. The staff was very helpful overall, but we did have some difficulty getting soap delivered to our room, as there was none at all in the room when we checked in. The real negative, in my opinion, was that you are charged a high rate to park, $24/day whether you use the valet service or do the self-parking option.”

“The Emily Morgan is situated at the northwest corner of the historic Alamo. The hotel is nicely adorned with an old style flair that reminds one of the 1950's.”

“There ice machines on a few floors; only 1 was working so you had to go to each floor since the hotel staff didn't even know. We were stuck with parking - valet or no valet was $24 a day. This hotel was full of dogs and that seems unusual for a 5* hotel.”

“It was disgusting - hallways in the hotel were not clean, I found ticks in the bathroom and personally killed at least 6 or 7 cockroaches in the room over a 4-day stay. Also found old cockroach carcasses that hadn't been vacuumed up by housekeeping. Was the housekeeping staff on strike or something? This from a 4-star hotel? Horrible experience.”

“We found bugs crawling in the room, they almost looked like ticks. Pets are allowed in this hotel which I think is a big no for four star!”

“The hotel is nice. There are different layouts, some smaller than others. The restaurant is way over priced but the food is good. I was much more pleased with the last time I stayed at this hotel compared to the recent stayed. Parking is ridiculous being that most valet parking is indoor with security. I would not stay at this hotel again just because of the parking. Bathrooms looked really old and really new at the same time depending on what part you were using. Not everything was replaced.”

“Beautiful old building, situated across the street from the Alamo. Atmospheric setting and perfect spot for starting to explore the city. The room was quite small -- designed, I believe, for a single business traveler. As a room for wedding anniversary celebrants, it could have offered a little more space and luxury. Friendly staff.”

“This was a great location, great hotel but $24.00 for parking in an open lot behind the hotel. Valet and self park was the same price! This was way too much. I opted for the self park thought it was cheaper, but it was not, and it was not disclosed to be the same price.”

“Bathroom door is opaque glass which was not very good for privacy and when ever light was turned on it disturbed everyone in the room. Mandatory $24 per day parking can be avoided by parking in nearby surface lots or if only parking overnight meters are free from 6 pm to 7 am. Tile in bathroom was dirty.”
