• Location was horrible and not anywhere near the Riverwalk

“We were looking for a hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk - this hotel was NO where near that. The location was horrible and it was very disappointing. For the amount of money that we paid the hotel conditions were terrible. I've stayed at the Hyatt Regency for less.”

“The lobby was nice looking and the staff was friendly. Usually, check out is at noon, but I asked the front desk if I could check out a little later. They also have an outdoor pool, indoor Jacuzzi, and gym. The only negatives are that their pool and Jacuzzi are highly chlorinated, it left my skin feeling dry and smelling like chlorine for a couple of days. Also, the Jacuzzi was not that hot, more lukewarm, I guess it's for safety reasons, but I was looking forward to having some muscle tension relieved. As for the room itself, they gave us a king-size bed with a balcony view of the pool. There's also a little mini fridge, which was good, because we brought drinks along.”

• I was very disappointed in everything.
• Dirty, not well kept up, no restaurant.
  Much much nicer room environment/atmosphere.

“I felt the hotel is very poorly maintained. In need of carpet cleaning throughout facility room and in lobby. The staff was not very friendly or accommodating.”

• Very clean, comfortable rooms. Nice pool and spa area too, no one was there but us, very relaxing.
• Price of the breakfast was too expensive for what was available.

“Very clean and comfortable. It would have been nice if someone would have told us that you needed to purchase ticket at the Riverwalk in advance for the riverboat ride. Overall, was very happy. Would recommend to family and friends. The hotel was actually the most enjoyable part of our trip.”

• Location and nice room.
• Pool was filthy.

“Everything great except the pool was very dirty. Scum caked thick to the tile sides. Hair floating around the surface. Expected better of a Marriott.”

• The staff was not all that helpful.

“I had a problem when I checked in. I wanted to try to change my room to one with two double beds (or queens) instead of one king. They were not able to help me and didn't seem interested in trying. Other than the staff the hotel was adequate, but not as nice as the hotel next door that I also used.”

• It was very clean and convenient.
• Bathroom areas were small.

“I would recommend the hotel to others. There is a nice lobby area and the pool and grounds were nice. The rooms were average, but very clean and met our needs. It was also convenient to the interstate and a fair walk to the river walk area.”

• Overall this is a very nice hotel and could easily have been a 3 star hotel.
• The locations is not good. Walking back from downtown at night can be scary.

“Overall I really liked this hotel. However, walking back from downtown at night isn't fun. You must walk thru some creepy areas. Take a bus or cab. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel.”

• I liked the courtyard and also the fact that was within walking distance to the river walk (about 1/2 miles).
• Some of the rooms in the hotel face an industrial area.

“My husband and I liked this hotel. If you do not want to pay or cannot afford a hotel at the River Walk, I recommend this hotel. The rooms were nice specially the ones facing the courtyard. We stayed four days and everyday we walked to the river walk.”

• Clean, very nice movie selection.
• Restaurant only opens until 10:30 am.

“Further from riverwalk than expected, but the trolley was right outside and very convenient. Clean rooms, comfortable. The restaurant was quite a disappointment - shockingly, only open until 10:30 am and the breakfast was terrible. Unprofessional front desk staff.”

• It was clean.
• There was not enough room at the dining for breakfast.

“The hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend it again. The only problem was we were going to ride the trolley to the Alamo dome, but it did not come in time for us to make the meeting.”

• It was in a very convenient location and the people were kind and courteous to out-of-towners.
• It ran out of extra pillows.

“The hotel was very high quality. It was in a great location right outside of River Walk (by less than a mile), but was connected to the Yellow Route of the trolley system (very cool in itself). It provides the accessibility of San Antonio without the crowds and noise. The staff was also very nice. The only complaint was that the maid service knocked on my door every morning around 9 am. I'm a visiting student from Penn State out for the Alamo Bowl and we don't wake up that early by a long shot.”

• The exterior appearance of the building is not very appealing when driving up.

• Free cookies at the counter for breakfast.
• Umm, the pillows and the mattress to me were not comfortable. Did not sleep well the first night but, did on the second night (due lack sleep).

“Overall the hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is excellent for a business traveler.”
