• Hotel was located near to the Riverwalk which was very convenient.
• Our room on the first night was very hot. We could not sleep because the air condition was not working but we were given another room the next morning.

“The staff was very friendly, helpful and polite. The complementary breakfast was good. The staff should make sure the air condition works because we came in late at night and couldn't sleep because it was too hot. For the second room it was very stuffy. I believe the carpet needed changing. Over all it was not bad.”

• Something that looked like clumpy eggs.

“Clean hotel with the exception of around the pool area. Nice but small workout area. Very friendly staff and helped me in a bad situation. Probably the worst thing is that it was located on a one way street right off the interstate. Overall it was a good experience.”

• It was very close to Downtown. That was important to me.
• Did not like that there was no other meals than breakfast.

“I had a great experience at this hotel, and would definitely consider staying there again. The room, linens, and appliances were clean (though the shower could've used another once-over), and it was a large, comfortable space. Breakfast was good and offered a nice variety of items. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful in explaining the trolley schedule, city maps, etc. My only real concern was the neighborhood- I did not feel comfortable walking alone from the trolley stop after dark (certainly wouldn't have wanted to walk from downtown!), but the walk was only a few blocks and nothing actually happened. Plus, the area was quieter than being in the center of the city, which was kind of nice. Overall, I felt it was a good value and was very pleased with my experience. I'll probably stay there again.”

• Chemical burn from too much chlorine in hot tub.

“Clean, large rooms, friendly staff, my wife and I ended up with a chemical burn from too much chlorine in the hot tub. We had redness and itching for about three days. Spoke with other guests that had experienced the same symptoms.”

• Convenient location, but hard to get to. Friendly staff and counter person very helpful with instructions on how to get to motel.
• Hard to get to if you are already Downtown. Confusing with all the one way streets.

“We found it very convenient to the Downtown area, although it was hard to get to with all the one way streets. We found it very comfortable and the two kings size beds were a plus. It was clean, the staff was friendly and we would recommend it to our friends.”

• The hotel was very spacious. I had three little girls and my spouse. We really enjoyed ourselves.
• The cleanliness of the room was good. The only problem we encountered was ants.

“The hotel was not far from the river walk. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was good. I wish there would have been more than one computer room. Me and my family had fun. We will be back to this hotel.”

• The rooms were big, nicely furnished, and clean.
• Swimming area was nasty, view of electrical facility out patio window, bathroom sink was stopped up.

“We only stayed two nights, but our experience was pleasant. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful with directions to different places. It is in a good location to all sights in San Antonio. There was limited parking. One evening we came back to the hotel and there was a man with a basket digging through the dumpster. It frightened my two sons and I didn't want to park the back where the dumpster was located.”

“After searching high and low over the internet for a clean, affordable and spacious place for a family with 5 adults and 5 children to comfortably shelter, I am so thankful that we chose the Comfort Inn Suites in Downtown San Antonio. We found it to be all of the above and some. The hotel was very clean, updated, spacious and most of all affordable. Upon spending most of our time sight seeing and enjoying what San Antonio had to offer, it was comforting to return to our clean and spacious rooms. The full sized refrigerator and microwave made it feel like home and the private bath and sitting area were very nice. The 2 king sized beds made for a pleasant nights rest and the black out curtains added a nice touch. The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was good. It was like a larger ritzy hotel on a smaller scale. It was a little tricky finding it, but once you drive onto the hotel premises, you will feel at ease. I would certainly book this place again and recommend this hotel to others.”

• Ignorant front desk staff, lazy maids, located in the slums.

“I was very disappointed with our stay here. We were booked to stay 4 nights and the first 2 days, the front desk tried to check us out. The 2nd day, they even went as far as checking another family into our room. Luckily, we were in the room relaxing when this family opened our door with their key. They never provided us with more than 2 towels a night, so we had to go down to the front desk to get more towels. The maids did a horrible job cleaning the room and never once cleaned the coffee pot or provided new coffee filters or fresh cups. The hotel itself is located in a run-down part of town. It is definitely not within walking distance of the river walk. I definitely will not be staying here again.”

“Once I arrived at the hotel I was given a room that I did not reserve. I reserved 2 kings with sofa bed and I was given 1 king w/sofa bed.”

• I was unsure about security for vehicles.

“We enjoyed our stay very much. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and told us about the trolley and made sure we had a fair bit of information to enjoy our stay in San Antonio. I felt a bit unsure about safety walking back from the trolley stop at night but did not meet or see anyone to worry about.”

• I love the indoor pool and location.
• Did not like the location of there washing machine and no change dispenser.

• Spacious, fridge, microwave, friendly staff.
• Decor from the 60's, needs cosmetic repair.

“This hotel is a very good value. The rooms are very spacious and the full size fridge and microwave are a big plus. The staff is excellent!!! The decor is very outdated and the rooms need some cosmetic repairs, like the shower drain was a little rusted, but they were very clean. There is not much of a view, but you are only a couple of blocks from Market Square and the river walk. It is a great hotel if you are looking for something very spacious at a decent price.”

• The location was not ideal...four blocks from nearest trolley.

“I was concerned when we arrived. The location is not so great. However, the room was very large (two king size beds, small living area, full refrigerator, microwave). The room was clean and quiet. Indoor pool, free internet access in business center, and fitness room all made the stay more enjoyable.”

• Nice staff, clean, indoor pool was nice.
• Homeless man was camped out like two lots over from the hotel.

“Aside from the bum living near the hotel, I thought it was a nice place. The restroom was clean and the fridge and microwave were a plus. My family loved it. The staff was very nice when I needed extra pillows they gave them to me. When asking directions to a grocery store, they gave me a map and showed us the way to go. I would stay there again next time I go to San Antonio.”

• It had 2 king beds and frig, but the location was not close the Riverwalk at all. I would not go outside at night by myself.
• Location was not where they said it was, homeless people were around sometimes.

“When we got there the hotel did not have our room that we requested. We requested a 3 king room and they had given us a 2 king room. And to top it off they had cleaned the carpets so our floors were really wet. Also the breakfast was not very good. Very little and not enough room to eat. Parking was bad too. The only thing I liked about this hotel was that it did have 2 king beds. It took us over an hour to check into this hotel, so we did not get to go and do anything with our children that night.”
