• The staff was very courteous and the room was clean.
• The noise from the pool was a little extreme toward the later hours of the evening.

“We requested a room by the pool so we could have the sliding door view of the pool area. We ended up with a room near the pool without a sliding door, so we got all the noise and none of the view. However, the room was clean, comfortable, and the service was great, so I would definitely recommend this hotel.”

• The pool slide for our son, being able to bring our pet, the convenience of location to our event.
• We were locked out of our room constantly; once because we owed a $20 pet fee we didn't even know about.

“The hotel itself was perfect. Great location, very nice room, very inviting swimming pool with an awesome pool slide, great parking. We were just disappointed in being locked out of our room constantly for whatever reason other than once, when they set our door to not unlock until we paid a pet deposit they never asked for even when checking in and we told them we had a dog.”

• I like the pool and slide.
• The hot tub wasn't working.

“Altogether this was a nice hotel with a great pool for kids. I wish I would have known that the hot tub wasn't working and that the pool would have been warmer. It was very cold by the pool.”

• Staff was accomodating when we had to stay over due to storm.
• Outer hallways were not clean/well kept.

“Room and bed were clean & comfortable. Staff was courteous and helpful. Lounge had good food and service was excellent. Rear entrances and outer hallway was not clean or in good repair, but rooms and common areas were fine. Hot tub was not very warm.”

• The room was relatively free of disturbing smells.
• There was no breakfast provided.

“The entrance to our hotel room was supposed to be up a set of stairs. When we reached our staircase, it was blocked with a rope. We then had to find our way into the hotel through a back door. It was dark and difficult to find our way in. Late at night this was not comfortable.”

• The pool, the feather pillows.
• The bathroom was outdated and dirty. The air conditioner broke in the middle of the night.

• The price.
• My room didn't even have a window. It was humid and uncomfortable.

“The only thing good about the hotel was that it would be a great place for a family with young kids because of the pool area. Other than that I would not stay there ever again.”

“The hotel is located just off I70. The hotel rooms are very clean and the staff members are very good. I suppose this is the best hotel in that area,”

• The swimming pool and water slide were fun for the kids.
• There were mold and mildew all over the bathroom.

“This is an older holiday inn that we've stayed at before. The kids love the pool and slide. The sleeping area and vanity area of the room was very clean and comfortable. The bedding and beds were new. The bathroom had black mildew and mold under all the grout and on the ceiling tiles. This was a shame because the basic materials were nice. With a little maintenance, it would be a great bathroom. I complained the next morning and the front desk lady apologized and gave my family a free breakfast. She said that she wasn't aware of the problem and would write up a maintenance order.”

• The pool & waterslide.
• The waterslide closed too early in the evening. No food or beverage in the pool area. It wasn't customer friendly.

“This was a wonderful hotel for younger children. The check-in attendant was very friendly and personable with the children. The free wireless internet access was very much appreciated. The only complaints would be that the waterslide closed too early in the evening and no food or beverage was allowed in the carpeted viewing area at the pool. Overall it was a pleasurable experience.”

• It was next to I-70.
• Doesn't fit in 20 words or less.

“The hotel smelled like mildew. The air conditioning was broken and I wasn't told about it at check-in. I call the front desk to ask about the air because my room was very hot and there were not windows that opened. The front desk clerk said she would send someone up to fix the air. Although I waited a few hours, no one came to fix it, and I eventually went to bed. When I mentioned the air conditioning at check out, the clerk informed me the system was down for the whole hotel, and had been for awhile.”

• Staff made the best of a bad situation.
• The pool was broken when we checked in and slippery when it opened the next day.

“The air conditioning was inadequate for July in Kansas - we asked to have our room moved. It was better, but still stifling. As well, the pool was unsafe with an unsafe slick bottom and slippery tiles around the pool edge.”

• We were traveling with a youth group on a mission trip. The connecting rooms were an added benefit as well as the pool and other amenities offered.
• The hallways outside of the rooms were very hot and one of our groups had to be moved due to the air conditioning in the room not functioning.

“I would stay at the hotel again. It is very convenient access right off of the interstate in Hays. The rooms were a little stuffy but not unbearable, and the staff was very accommodating shifting one group to another room since their a/c was not working properly. It worked out great for the group as the kids could walk to the "holidome" area to swim or play games.”
