“The hotel was relatively easy to find and admittedly, it is the middle of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, so rooms were at a premium. When we checked in the following week, the room we were given was filthy: sheets were used, towels had been used by re-hung and the floor had dirt and used tissues from the previous occupants. We didn't even want to touch anything. We asked for a new room and were given a run around. The manager had to actually see the room to prove it was dirty. The maid was called to clean the room and was surly about it; the entire staff was rude and unhelpful. So we waited for 30 minutes while the room was cleaned - it didn't really look much better, but smelled somewhat cleaner. We spent one night - and will never go back, nor recommend that hotel (or Super 8's in general) to anyone.”

“This is a nice place, nothing fancy but clean and a nice place to stay. Location is great. Desk clerk on our night was rude but they can't all be that way. Our room faced the east and the curtains weren't big enough to block out the morning sun. Other than the curtains and the clerk, excellent hotel.”

“It was very clean, friendly, well located near restaurants, stores we needed & attractions. The bed was very hard for me to sleep in, we had to buy an ice chest then leave it when we left to keep meds in. The breakfast was not designed for anyone with special needs like diabetics. All carbs & no protein is not acceptable diet for us. There was no extra pillow or blanket available without going down 2 flights of stairs, walking out into another building & back up. The water in that whole area is unfit to drink because of the aftertaste of chlorine. Even makes coffee & tea taste bad. The coffee in the public area was good. It must have been made with filtered water.”

“It was acceptable for one night stay. The price was ok although I could have saved $5 by walking in with a coupon. The free breakfast selection was not very good.”

“This hotel was very overpriced for what it is. Mt Rushmore area hotels were very expensive. There were much better values in other areas.”

“I was not impressed with what they provided for the continental breakfast. The coffee was weak and they could have had fresh fruit. So, even though that was included in the room expense, we only ate there once. Three different mornings there was a great deal of noise outside of the hotel with a street cleaner, garbage pick up, and construction. The air conditioner did not work properly so the room would initially cool down and then get very warm in the middle of the night. The back parking lot exit was hard on the car and I thought I lost my front spoiler the first and only time I used it because of it having such a deep dip from the parking lot to the road. I was very unhappy with the hotel in general. The location was okay for our purposes and it was clean. Otherwise, I don't have much good to say about it.”

“I was traveling by motorcycle, so my view is a bit different. Hotel was an original building and a second, separate building in which I had my room. Room was very small and dark, in the lowest level of the hotel. Looking out the window, which began at about shoulder height, I was looking directly into the headlights of the car parked in the lot behind my room- like 3 feet away, and at headlight level since the room was 2/3rds below ground. Parking lot was torn up and loaded with potholes, with a steep uphill entrance. Continental breakfast was as if someone had run across the street to the convenience store and popped open a box of donuts. Staff was neither helpful nor disrespectful- just not real engaged. No elevators, so seniors/special needs folks would have to figure out how to make do, unless they had different rooms available on request. Half way decent restaurant/bar across a busy street; McDonald's and a gas station with snacks closer by Consider
