• The location and the willingness of some of the employees to help.
• The lousy mattress on the hide-a-bed & nobody helped to replace it.

“The horribly uncomfortable (thin & lumpy) mattress could not be changed on the hide-a-bed and why if the mattress couldn't be changed some accommodations to help with the discomfort couldn't be attempted. After one conversation as a follow up on my part, nothing was every mentioned again. Very disappointing. Room was tiny for one adult and 2 teenagers. And how many times do you have to ask for towels enough for 3.”

• The location was ideal, just 3 miles from Mt. Rushmore.
• Although we were in new part of hotel, room was not much bigger than an oversize closet.

“This was a perfect location being only 3 miles from Mt. Rushmore itself. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, while obviously new in decor and furnishings, was not much larger than our walk in closet at home. For the price, I was shocked at how tiny this room was. The dresser drawers couldn't even be opened because the table and chairs were up against it. Clean but much too small.”

• The staff was on it when you ask for something.
• The rooms were so small compared to other hotels stayed in during this vacation. The pool closed for cleaning on Sun night for rest of stay.

“The rooms were very small and uncomfortable. The continental breakfast not many choices.”

• Location and price. We really enjoyed everything about the hotel.
• The rooms were a bit on the small side but very comfortable.

“Great staff, great location. Free WiFi, cable with HBO and the indoor pool was a big hit. The hotel was very clean and quiet. I will stay here again and will recommend it to friends.”

• No place to eat on property.

• The room was TINY, hardly room to move.

“Overall the hotel was a good place to stay. The room was cramped, having two queen beds. I didn't like the fact the vanity was not in the bathroom. And we have two bulbs burnt out. The pool was good. The room was clean. The breakfast could have offered a better choice of foods.”

• The room had an unpleasant smell.

• It was quiet and off the main street.
• Continental breakfast was very poor. Door did not latch closed. Pull out bed was complete piece of garbage.

“Hotel was hard to find. Nowhere near the other motels in town. The hotel was very quiet (much appreciated) but when we got to our room, the door was open (we could just push it open and walk in without a key). Turns out the latch wasn't lining up right. I couldn't lock the top security deadbolt. Fortunately the hotel is in a very mellow, non-dangerous area. My 7 y/o slept on the fold out bed and it was so thinly padded, he woke up with hip pain! This is the same kid that can sleep on a floor with a blanket and wake up happy. Finally, the continental breakfast was the most sparse I've ever encountered. They did not even have dry cereal available. I will not be staying at this hotel again. I can't, in good conscience, recommend it to others either. It wasn't a bad hotel, but for a price, it was a very poor value.”
