• I loved the sauna. It was just the right temp. I also liked how it was right next to Applebees and the interstate.
• The swimming pool was rather cold and the gym could use some newer equipment.

“Overall, We had a pleasant time. The beds were comfortable. I didn't like how there weren't any vending machines close to our room nor was there an ice machine. We had to go down to the first floor to get ice. There were soda machines but nothing to snack on if we wanted. At least none close to our room if there was. But the hotel seemed to be recently updated and perhaps it is still in the works.”

• The hotel was typical of an older hotel and it was adequate and a great location.
• It was ok.

• Room was not overly clean, stains on wall, stuck away at the back of hotel.

“I was a little disappointed as the hotel itself met my expectations for the quality I wanted, but our room was like it was in a different hotel.”

• Pool area had no seating area, space was there but they had about 2 pool chairs.

• Bed was so comfortable and food was good.
• The pool chlorine could be smelled thru out the hotel.

“Comfort and cleanliness good. Older needs remodeled. Beds are good and food is good. Staff people were very friendly and welcoming. Had a call from the front desk shortly after we arrived to see if there was anything they could do for us. We never had this happen at any other hotel we stayed at. Very accommodating.”

• The bed was really comfortable.

• Location to deadwood/ black hills area.
• Service, management, quality of rooms, food service.

“Hotel front desk staff has to be the rudest and least helpful staff I have had to deal with. I stay in Holiday Inns all over the country and approx. 40 nights a year and they topped my list for worst Holiday Inn in America. For the high price you pay to stay in a second rate hotel you certainly don't get your moneys worth. If you are planning on staying here for the accessibility of in hotel restaurant/ bar the food and service is horrible. I would suggest saving some money and staying in another local hotel, and eating at one of the many great local restaurant in Spearfish as opposed to the overpriced Holiday Inn.”

• Room was clean and adequate size.
• Personnel was very unresponsive in our complaint re the dog that barked nonstop for 2 hours across the hall from us.

“I was very dissatisfied in the response we got to our complaint regarding the barking dog (this was in the evening/bedtime hours).”
