• Location.
• Dirty, worn out sheets.

“Sheets were worn out and may not have been washed (suspicious spots). Room had no maintenance in years. Bath area was a head bump hazard. Table was falling apart. Buffet breakfast was cold. Fish in restaurant was starting to smell.”

• The room was shabby,not overly clean, Telephone didn't work, No light bulb in one of the lamps.

“The motel staff explained when I complained about the room,that this was the type of room they gave to people with pets.”

• The roads were a mess and it was very hard to get around.
• The staff was great and very helpful about everything.

“I would stay her again for the staff and the price but the traffic was a mess and the location was not the greatest. My kids enjoyed the pool hours.”

• Its was ok the pool was nice.
• The bathroom was so small you had to step into it to close the door t.

“The room was average but the flies in the room were terrible, I didn't expect to be treated like royalty, but I felt like the Lord of the Flies.”

• Leaving to go home.
• The place was dirty.

“This place was disgusting. We arrived late in the day with our 6 and 2 year olds in tow. While preparing for bed I hear the infamous "Daddy what's that" question. I couldn't tell, there was something dried on the blanket and on the sheets and pillow case. A complete waste of money, stay at the Motel 6 down the road, at least it's clean.”

• Nice room. Large vanity/dressing area. Toilet separate from vanity area.
• Asked for and requested two queen beds but got one king. Three of us had to sleep in one bed.

“Overall the room and hotel was surprisingly nice. The room was clean, had a large vanity/dressing area with the toilet and bath/shower separate. A little disappointed when we arrived to find only one king size bed while we asked for and expected two queens. There were three of us so it got a little uncomfortable trying to rest, but we managed. As far as their restaurant, they would go a long way if this area was improved. Even just a little. Way over priced, very few choices and the food was not that great. But the bottom line is we would go back and stay here. Just go out to eat.”

• Location and easy to get to, Breakfast was great.
• High prices in restaurant and little food.

“I would recommend this hotel to people who are traveling in the area, but dine else where for lunch and dinner. breakfast was great. The price could come down a little for the hotel is old but nice.”

• Large and clean room.
• Eat at your own risk! Double check your bill. Weak Wi-Fi.

“Good place to put your head down for the night after a day in the caves. Oversized, clean rooms that are not too dated. Just avoid the restaurant, Wi-Fi is spotty and double check your bill. The best place in Carlsbad until the hi express opens in a couple months.”

• The rooms were clean and clean regularly.
• The only discomfort was the stiff bed.

“The room had a moth ball smell when we arrived, after a few hours the a/c being on it seemed to go away, the a/c worked great the rooms were cleaned as soon as we left the room, the beds and towels were clean. A little steep in pricing but I would rather pay a few extra dollars for a clean hotel.”
