“If memory serves, this property started life as an open-air Holiday Inn in the 60's. At some point they roofed-over the whole thing, but left out elevators for weary travelers required to drag things to second floor rooms. They've somehow skirted modern fire codes by not installing smoke doors at the ends of corridors and in other locations. A smoky fire in the restaurant could endanger hotel patrons a hundred yards away! Beds were hard, but flat. A broken spring poked me in the ribs all night. Some nice touches, though: two lavs in the bath, granite counters, and central AC (instead of those noisy PTAC's) along with a free, hearty, breakfast. Carpets in the common areas, especially on stairs, were worn, and recent deluges (an unusual occurrence in Roswell) left many 2nd floor ceiling tiles stained and sagging. The place could be very nice, but it will require further modernization.”

“Average at best. Room was supposed to be non-smoking but smelled awful. Things in room were broken. Breakfast bar was ok but flies everywhere.”

“The beds are spring/type and you can feel the springs. Otherwise, the room is attractive. The shower had a very slow drain. Was otherwise an attractive bathroom. The lobby and personnel were very friendly. The included breakfast was fair, with watery eggs and small, cheap donuts. There was sausage, make-your-own toast, and watery hash browns.”

“Water shut off on two different days without notice. Worked nights and notified staff of extension of stay which did not get communicated, awakened to determine if I was extending my stay. Very poor staff attitude.”

“Our room was clean and comfortable. The free breakfast provided with the lodging but was hot and included most of the breakfast items. The staff was friendly and the whole facility was clean.”

“As with most hotels as they get older they need to be remodeled. This one definitely needed remodeling. No elevator?”

“We arrived late because of a rain storm. When we got to our room the keys did not work. After return from the hike with new keys, the room was very stuffy and the air conditioning did not work. Called and was told to come to the front desk again to get keys to a new room. After hiking to new room, we opened the door and it smell of raw sewage. We called the front desk again and after a 25-minute wait, they brought us keys to a new room which the air did not work again. We gave up and stayed. We went to the free breakfast at 9:00 am and it was a ghost town. Only lukewarm potatoes and cold cereal was left. I went back into the kitchen to find some one for milk to which they brought us a juice size glass for both of us. I asked for a glass of ice but never got one. Wish it was better. We had been on the road for 14 hours and we did not have the energy to fight for better service.”

“This hotel is old and run down in many ways. The smell of smoke is strong even in non-smoking rooms. Service is average at best.”

“The hotel is old and has not aged well. Smoke permeates the premises and the general level of dilapidation is obvious. Design is dated and in need of renovation. Not competitive with places like La Quinta or Comfort although makes claims of being superior. Location and access are good, and staff is friendly if not terribly industrious or solicitous.”

“I work at a resort/hotel so I know the business. This is basically a nice older hotel in a good location with nice amenities offered, including and 'above the ordinary' free 'hot' breakfast which makes a difference to the travelers' budget!”

“This hotel is really old and in mediocre condition. The room was dirty, had roaches and I didn't even want to get into the shower! The location on main street is great but there are a lot better hotels on main.”

“I reserved two rooms. The day before my arrival I called to confirm my reservation. They told me that I only had one room reserved. I corrected them that I had reserved two rooms. The staff member I spoke to then said "oh yeah - two rooms adjoining." When I got to the hotel they only had one room reserved. They finally found me a second room far away from the first room. They ended up charging my credit card for the second room even though the room was prepaid.”

“Bow sally port inn offers a particularly good value for the business traveler. Rooms are large with plenty of work space and provide refrigerators and microwaves in addition to the complimentary high speed internet connection. Dining is very upscale for the location. Fabulous menu in the restaurant.”

“The hotel is great, however the wireless was down and the staff was clueless about it. The sauna was locked, so the staff had me waiting for 30 minutes to get a key, and then it turned out to be broke. The pool had wet paint on the gate without any signs. In short the hotel was excellent, but they need better help it seemed to me. They didn't care about any of the above when I asked. Outside of the above the hotel was clean and very nice however.”
