  • The shuttle drivers were very helpful and very personable.
  • Rooms were small.

“Overall very pleased. We were close to everything we wanted to do. Everyone from the front desk, restaurant and shuttle drivers were very helpful. We were originally put into 2 non-smoking rooms and were quickly moved to smoking rooms without any problems. Although the rooms were on the small side, they were adequate as we spent most of our time around town.”

  • The restaurant on the 14th floor has a great view of Denver.
  • Out of date decor.

“We stayed on the 3rd floor. They were doing renovations in the room right above us as late as 10 p.m. and as early as 9 a.m. Drilling and scraping bathroom tiles.”

  • Hotel staff are very nice and accommodating.
  • Beds, televisions, etc. needs to be updated.

“I recommend this hotel highly for an inexpensive place to stay in the downtown area. With very little TLC and some updated amenities this would be a fantastic hotel. The beds should be updated immediately.”

  • The location and the hotel shuttle service to downtown and area facilities.
  • The hotel is showing signs of age even though it is clean.

“The hotel is very clean and the people running the desk and the restaurant are very personable and accommodating. The shuttle service personnel is very helpful and willing to assist guests by recommending eating establishments etc. and arrange to drop off and pick up guests at specified times and locations.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[8]

  • It was located close to my destination.
  • The bed was very hard, it was like sleeping on a piece of plywood.

“The desk staff was rude to me when I called to inquire about early check-in. The room was dark and unwelcoming. The bed was old and about as soft as a piece of plywood. The best part of the whole experience was the shuttle service. The driver was friendly and courteous and made the short trip to our destination fun and exciting.”

  • Location.
  • The toilet seat was dirty! Need I say any more?

“The location was very convenient. The staff was nice enough but very short and sort of distracted. The room had a dirty dingy feel to it and there was feces on the toilet seat which obviously ruined my experience in the room. If they put a little more effort into the upkeep it actually would be a nice hotel for the money, but they dont!”

  • The elevator was much-appreciated. So was the king-size bed.

“The staff was friendly and efficient. We got everything we asked for. The room was clean and spacious. There was no television channel guide, which would have been nice, but we managed.”

  • Poor fitness center.

“Overall, I had a good experience at the Red Lion. The fitness facility is very small and the bathrooms are a bit old looking.”

  • If I had been going to Invesco field, the location was perfect for that.
  • It was old, the room was dark and the decor was old.

“I was very disappointed with this hotel, first of all the staff was rude when I called twice to get better directions than what I got off map quest. Even checking in, the staffs were not very friendly at all. The building was very old and outdated, the room was dark, the carpet was old & black or gray, and the furniture was old. Everything appeared clean but it felt dirty because of the age and darkness. I went downtown in their shuttle; the shuttle was in horrible shape. I felt bad for the driver; he could hardly get the sliding door open & closed. The van was much worn on the inside and rattled a lot. Overall, I was very disappointed. In fact my father & I had to get up at 4 am to get to the airport but we both woke up at 3:30 and decided to leave then because we were not comfortable in the room.”

  • Had microwave, refrigerator and washer/dryers.
  • Carpets need replaced.

“I would stay there again when price is important. It needs a facelift but I suppose that would make it less affordable.”

“The AC. did not blow cold air, I felt like I was sleeping in an oven. The floor would have been a better place to sleep than the bed. The furniture was from the 70's. This hotel can't even rate with (motel 6).”

  • Location.
  • The facility was unclean, and the staff did not care.

“At first the stay seemed like it would be fine, the lobby is clean and attractive. I got to the room and it "seemed" clean also, though it smelled of smoke. I was awoken around 3am with a bug on my arm, turned the lights on, and yes, there were bed bugs on the bed and on me! I would not let an enemy stay at this hotel! When I informed the staff (I left shortly there after) that there were bedbugs in the room, they were un-responsive. I tried to call a manager and was sent straight to voicemail. Don't stay here if you can help it!”
