• This hotel lived up to my expectations for its nationally known brand.
• The hot tub was not in working order.

• Excellent staff, extra clean room, very comfortable.
• There were three weddings going on, very busy.

“It is rated 2.5 because it is not upscale, but really I have stayed other places called 4 star that were not nearly as excellent as this. Very clean, excellent food in restaurant, very well kept, excellent customer service.”

“I cannot say enough about the staff at this hotel. I had a specific need and they met it above and beyond. My check-in with one of the staff was easy and helpful. He was one of the best hotel clerks I have encountered in a long time.”

• Decor was depressing - beige on beige. Very poor value.

“I was at the Lakewood holiday inn for 5 nights for business in April 07.first, the staff was fantastic. Very nice and helpful. Maybe the best hotel staff I have come across. What I did not like unfortunately outweighed the great staff. No continental or free breakfast. Both of these were mentioned as available in other reviews. Nothing of the kind now. The restaurant did have hot breakfast, but it did cost, and was horrible unless you like runny (fake?) Eggs with hair in them. This was a huge issue for me. One reason I chose to stay here was that a mini-refrigerator was listed. I even had an upgraded room! Oh btw- don't bother with the upgrade. I am still trying to figure out what I paid extra for. They mention access to the executive lounge with the upgrade I had. Which appeared to be an empty room? The lounge/bar was essentially in the lobby and very small. ”

• Totally remodeled faculty, new bed, furniture carpet, bath very nice.
• No indoor pool.

“Our room was totally remodeled; it was like staying in a brand new room. The furniture was all brand new, carpet, bathroom, etc. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only draw back was the fact that they didn't have an indoor pool. Initially I was scared because of the 2 1/2 star rating. The restaurant was perfect for a family, kids eat free, for the whole family of 5 to eat, and we spent under.”

• Great location, especially if you were going to Denver area to shop. Also nice to have old Chicago¿s so close to walk to.
• Lighting too dim, not enough outlets or mirrors.

“The location of this hotel is great for the shopping guest. So many shopping places so close. Too far from downtown in my opinion if you are going to party, but otherwise good (and near old Chicago¿s. my favorite place for beer). There are a few things that could be improved on. First, there should be a stairwell to lead to the main lobby. We took the stairs to go to the hot tub only to find ourselves outside. Sort of nice to have only on entrance to the hotel, but needs to be a stairwell, at least one, to lead to the rest of the hotel. People like my mom do not take elevators alone, so I would've had to go with her down to the hot tub/lobby no matter what. The bathrooms need to have more outlets. With 2 women, 1 outlet is not enough when the coffee pot and hair dryer are both in the bathroom area. Need at least 2 outlets...plus a few more throughout the room. Where there are outlets, there should be mirrors. There is a mirror, but no outlet to go with it. Men probably don't need this luxury, but for women (when more than one per room) it's necessary. What if there had been 4 of us staying there....wow! Other than that, the hotel is great. Nice pool area (although would've been better if indoor as it was closed), nice hot tub with powerful jets, sauna, and nice exercise room for the size of hotel. Rooms were clean, but sheets are very loud. When my mom moved around at night it woke me up...sounded like tissue paper bunching up sounds like. Not very sound proof rooms either. People in the hallway were loud. Ice machine on the 4th floor needs fixed. Ha-ha...ok, lots there to "complain" about I guess, but none of these issues were major...I do hotel reviews for a living, so I see all the little things as well as big. Thank you for the nice stay. Overall things were fine.”

• Very clean. The staff was the friendliest and most helpful that I experienced on our vaca.
• I loved it.

“The staff was the friendliest that I've ever experienced. The entire motel was kept clean. The daily housekeeping was very well-done. The room felt very fresh when I returned at the end of the day. None of my personal items came up missing = staff was obviously very honest. Large outdoor pool, indoor sauna, hot tub, fitness room & showers. Choice of self serve laundry or valet laundry. This motel really was my favorite.”

• The hotel was pretty solid in all areas.
• Although each room was hooked up for wireless Internet - there was no computer in the business center.

“My television didn't work until the second day I was there. The bar appears to be an after-thought - too out in the open but the staff and the drinks were excellent. Very clean. Why was the pool closed. Great sauna and hot tub. I was overall very please with my stay.”
