  • Location.
  • Resort fee.

“Do not stay at this resort unless you have a ton of money to throw away on the resort fee. They charge $14.50/night/adult for use of parking, pool, and other activities like crochet on the front lawn? We didn't even have a car, but still have to spend almost $100 extra for the resort fees. For some reason, the hot tub is situated in a little adobe cave that is filled with warning signs and no lifeguard, not very peaceful. The location is beautiful (in the middle of the mountains) but overall this place is not worth the fee money.”

  • Getting out of there.
  • Almost everything.

“Terrible food. Surly, inexperienced service staff (when you can find them). Hot water either off or at a minimum. Billing mistakes. Inconvenient parking. This place stinks (literally. our room smelled of mildew and must). Avoid this hotel at your peril. And by all means, do not book far in advance. They might be out of business by the time you arrive. If we weren't with a wedding group, we would have checked out.”

  • The room was very nice, large with a tasteful southwestern decor. The grounds were beautiful. The staff was especially friendly and helpful.
  • We were charged a$20.00 per day resort fee.

“Bishops Lodge is not a hotel. It is a resort with spa, hiking and horseback riding, etc. and charges a resort fee of $29.00 a day.”

  • Staff went far out of their way to accomodate us and make our stay delightful. Very well done!
  • The location is not properly classified with hotels that are in the city center of Santa Fe.

“This is a charming and historic old lodge in a beautiful setting just outside Santa Fe. The rooms (we had a junior suite) were tasteful and of a 1940s-style elegance. Most importantly, the staff, especially Nicole at the front desk, went out of their way to make us feel welcomed, catered to and important. ”

  • The decor was lovely and the room was private and quiet.
  • They charged a 15$ a day spa fee to our bill.I thought the restaurant was poor for the $.

“The location and atmosphere of the lodge is wonderful. The room was spacious.I would not reccomend using the horseriding facilities though..Go down to Cerrilus and use The Broken Saddle riding stables..much better price and horses are treated better. Many better resaurants downtown for the price.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[6]

  • Beautiful facility with lots of amenities
  • No cell phone reception; they tried to charge extra beyond price

“They tried to add $15/day on to my bill for "resort Charges" and did not do so (I hope) only after repeated protests on my part.”

  • My room had a great fireplace and a stack of wood outside the front door.
  • Restaurant service wasn't that great.

“Nice vacation resort.”

  • Secluded in the mountains, but close to downtown Santa Fe.
  • At checkout, was charged a daily "resort fee"

“Hotel was nice. Very scenic. They try to charge you for every little thing, however. If you take a water from the fridge, be prepared to pay $4.50! They also try to hit you with a daily $25 "resort fee" not mentioned.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[10] • Location:[5]

  • Lot's of privacy!
  • Hidden costs! Was not informed until checkout that we had to pay a resort fee.

“This hotel is located about three miles from the city making it a pleasant, quiet, peaceful stay. Be sure to ask the hotel staff about the resort fee. We had to pay an additional $25.00 per room and was not informed about this until we checked out of the room.”
