  • Very clean and well kept. It had more amenities than many more expensive hotels I've stayed in.
  • The walls were thin so you could hear the people in the rooms above/below you.

“I booked this hotel because my sister and I were only in Santa Fe for one night, and needed something inexpensive. For as cheap as it was I wasn't expecting much - but we were both very pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly, the decor was a tasteful southwest theme, and the room was spotless. There were no signs of deterioration on the fixtures, carpet, doors, etc. Nice coffee maker, complementary bottled water, free wireless internet. Comfortable mattress and pillows. The only negative was the noise - the guests in the room above us got in late and we could hear every word they were saying.”

  • I can't believe how clean and comfortable it was.

“Great hotel for the money and centrally located within 6 blocks of the plaza and right next door to Whole Foods. Beds were extremely comfortable, very clean rooms and nice staff. I will definitely stay there again.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[6]

  • I liked the computers in the lobby and the breakfast was available in a pleasant room.
  • The hotel should have told us that there was a van available to go to the plaza, when we checked in.

“The rooms were very simple with very little room to place things near the sink. The beds were comfortable. The staff was pleasant.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[10]

  • Excellent location and decent computer facilities.
  • Noisy plumbing, dated and worn decor, and lack of privacy.

“Not the ideal place to spend extended time, but for a quick stay with most hours spent away from the hotel, it worked. Great location, but not very comfortable (no easy chair, no fridge), and the noisy shower and toilet plumbing from adjacent rooms meant early and sometimes frequent wake-up calls.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Close to Plaza.
  • A bit noisy on first floor.

“Overall, pretty good. Opted for first floor but noise (plumbing) from unit above at 6 a.m. Made it hard to sleep. Great Mexican restaurant a few blocks away. Friendly staff.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • Clean rooms, great continental breakfast, heated pool.
  • Small pool, not within walking distance to Downtown.

“This was an excellent hotel for the price and star-rating. The continental breakfast was excellent and had a lot of food to choose from. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, ample parking, and the outdoor pool was heated (albeit small). The location wasn't close enough to walk Downtown but it was a short drive away.”

  • The Sage hotel is conveniently located. It is clean, while allowing pets. The breakfast is good. The staff helpful.
  • I wish they had a heavy blanket so that I did not have to use the heat.

“The Sage hotel is centrally located in Santa Fe. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the breakfast is good and the amenities more than adequate. It is especially nice since pets are allowed.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • The staff was friendly and helpful. It was in a convenient location.
  • It is not and enclosed hotel and the walls are a bit thin.

“Overall my friend and I enjoyed our stay here. It is located in a convenient area to the main attractions. Everyone in town knew exactly where we were staying when we told them. It was much cleaner than many other hotels in this price range. If your emphasis is on spending as little money as possible on the hotel but at the same time you want something clean and friendly in a good location this is the place. The continental breakfast was ok. It had bagels, donuts, French toast, yogurt, cereal and fruit. Juices and coffee too.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • Location (close to plaza and next to whole foods) and value.
  • Facilities a little worn out.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations with the great value it offers. If you're looking for a safe, clean, no frill hotel that's close to the plaza (may not be within walking distance depending on the weather and your fitness level); Sage Inn may be your best choice.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • Clean and warm rooms.
  • They did not water their poinsettias often enough.

“Breakfast was pretty good for a continental; the lobby and eating area are nice. The personnel are mostly friendly. The rooms are clean and things function properly.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Most of the staff was exceptionally friendly and very personable.
  • One concierge in particular showed little interest in relaying massages or helping to find solutions.

“I enjoyed my stay very much. Most front desk personal was very personable and friendly. One didn't relay a message to the house manager that was fairly important. Also, I had lost my earrings and the house manager and staff was so kind to help me, literally turn my room inside out. And we found them. Very helpful, very nice. Thank you.”

  • Location.
  • Smelled of smoking room.

“The location was great. The room smelled like it had just had a smoker in it and there was a strong scent of something to try and cover this up. The heater was hard to work. Over all for Santa fee and the price it worked for us. I would request that I would have a choice in a non smoking room.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Location, cleanliness, outside well kept. staff helpful and friendly.
  • Lacking a bit in ambiance, not full cable.

“I think it was a good clean motel. It was well kept and the rooms were clean and large. The staff was friendly and helpful. It had a good breakfast, a bit more than the average continental - hardboiled eggs and cereal included. The room for breakfast was the most ambient of the whole lobby building. I was a bit disappointed in the overall ambience, yet for the price it was a good deal. Walking to the plaza was about 10 blocks. Walking down Guadalupe was the longer, yet more ambient walk with good restaurants and shopping.”

  • I could hear every movement from the room above and the shower next door.

“If you enjoy listening in on the rooms above and around you this is the place for you!”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Not far from downtown.
  • Room was crowded - no comfortable chairs.

“One service person I was in contact with could not speak English. Our last day they did not leave coffee nor the packet with sugar, etc. They also did not replace towel and hand cloth at the sink area. Other than that, it was okay.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Clean and had the necessary amenities.
  • The coffee maker was terrible.

“Nice hotel. Clean. The price was great! This was a once night stay so it met my needs. The room is a little small. Okay for a couple. Traveling companions may find it a little cramped.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • Clean, great location, nicely decorated.
  • They changed one of the rooms to a king instead of 2 queens.

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[4]

  • Not much.
  • Difficult intersection, noisy. small rooms.

“Fine if you do not want to do anything in your room except sleep, and that can be challenging due to noise. Rooms are clean and well maintained, staff is friendly, but rooms are small.”
