• The facility is wonderful as is the breakfast.
• Fail to honor non smoking room reservation - attitude of check in manager.

“I reserved a non-smoking room online. The morning of my reservation - a non smoking room was available and I guaranteed late arrival. Upon arrival, I learned that it was a smoking room as no non-smoking rooms were available. I protested and was told there was a disclosure saying room preference was subject to availability. I asked how a room preference available in the morning was no longer available, and received no logical answer. I refused the smoking room, and asked to be assisted in staying elsewhere, which was done. Unfortunately the next nearest motel is about 6 miles away and not in good condition. Next I asked if a non smoking room was available the next night, and was told yes; I asked if they would guarantee me in writing that one would be available to me, and they said no, but they could the next morning after 10. I returned the next morning and asked to pay in advance for a non smoking room and was told that couldn't be done as my room wasn't ready for check-in. I said I didn't want to check in just to obtain the room, and was told this could not be done until after 3 pm. This trip was a sudden one where I drove over 7 hours to say goodbye to my dying first cousin after receiving a phone call earlier that day from his wife. They live within a 1/2 mile of the Hampton Inn. I was exhausted and stressed. A new Holiday Inn Express is due to open in Los Alamos soon, so next trip I will have more options. This is really a beautiful facility and is kept in beautiful shape and the staff, encountered during the day, is wonderful. On a prior stay, a plumbing problem was promptly addressed and solved. Also that I cannot tolerate a smoking environment, so once the Holiday Inn opens that will be my first choice.”

• Breakfast was great! Very clean.
• Did not have a pool or even a jacuzzi.

“Overall this is a very good hotel. I would have loved a pool or a hot tub at the least and it would have been perfect. They did provide a fitness room and a sauna. Breakfast each morning was great. Coffee was fantastic, wish I could have brought that home.”
