“We arrived early in Cody, about 11:30 am and checked in at the hotel. Our room was not ready, which we expected, but were told it would be ready after 2 pm but since we had checked in, we could come back as late as we wanted and be assured of our room. My husband and I arrived back at the hotel about 2:30 pm and were told they'd just finished the room. My husband went into the bathroom to find the tub, absolutely filthy. Since our room was only about 20 feet from the front desk, I immediately went out and informed them that they still needed to clean the tub. The lady at the front desk rushed into the room and came out and apologized purposely. They hadn't cleaned the room at all, save for making the bed. She asked us to come back in an hour and in the meantime, stored our luggage in a locked room. When we came back, the room was clean and tidy. The positive things I have to say about the hotel was that it was neat and clean, over all. Coffee, hot water with various types of tea and hot cocoa were always available in the lobby. The hotel lobby has a book case where guests may take a book to read, if they desire. There was also several daily newspapers available in the lobby as well. I don't know if this is an all year amenity but they have an evening "hors dourves" reception from 5-8 pm every evening in the gift shop area which is about 1/3 block from the hotel. They served white zinfindel wine, champagne, sarsaparillas, coffee, water, cut up fresh fruit, relish tray with dip and various cut up smoked sausages. This was nice. The continental breakfast was also held at the gift shop area, in the back of the building. Also very nice which included various cold cereals, Dannon yogurt cups, freshly cut up fruit, several kinds of fresh juice, coffee, milk, freshly made (on order) waffles, syrups, jellies, bagels, bread for toast, cinnamon rolls, butter, jelly, hard boiled eggs. And it was all you can eat. Very nice! Our room was large with 1 king sized bed. Nicely furnished with a large comforter and 6 pillows plus the option of having down pillows over the normal foam pillows. Over all our experience was positive. They also had a basket, at the lobby where you could drop off mail. I would recommend this hotel to other travelers.”

“Our rooms were very unclean. The carpet was unvacuumed, the sheets looked unchanged, and there were actually make-up smears on the wash clothes, presumably from the previous guests. All of the advertised amenities, including the pool and breakfast, are located across the parking lot at the hotel next door, which is very inconvenient. This fact is carefully hidden in the advertising. The rooms were horribly overpriced for the low value we received. We are going back to Cody next year, but you can bet we will stay at a different hotel.”
