“This is a great place for vacationers that are single, dating, married or have kids. At the Westin La Paloma there is something for everyone no matter how young or old you are.”

“The area is beautiful to those unfamiliar with the desert, the landscape is kept nicely. The pool area is very spacious and has a nice swim up bar. The rooms have older furniture and we found a roach crawling across the floor in the middle of the night. The front desk manager is very disquieting with his worries of being stiffed for room charges. all of the other staff was polite.”

“This is my second time a La Palomar and it was again a very enjoyable stay. The pools are always a treat! I can't wait for my next visit to La Palmoa.”

“Not even close to a Four star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. This hotel reminded me of a 2 to 3 star hotel. Its in need of a real face lift.”

“This resort is a no go! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express the week before and had better service, nicer room, and they even provided 24 hour hot coffee for free! I will not stay at the Westin La Paloma ever again!”

“This was a wonderful resort with a beautiful view of the mountains and a great room. There were a lot of quail running around on the grounds. The landscape was immaculate and well designed. The beds were very comfortable. There was a bit of a walk to the rooms which was fine for us, but may be a hindrance to those with limitations. They did have a shuttle to use. Enjoyed our stay very much, would love to go back.”

“The staff was friendly and accommodating. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Room service was very good. Our deluxe room was clean and had a great view. The room was adequate. The "heavenly" bed was very comfortable in our room. Overall, the rooms at Loews ventana canyon resort and little America in flagstaff Arizona are better equipped than the rooms at la paloma for less money. The Westin la paloma seems better suited to corporate and business travelers. I would have ranked our stay at la paloma at a 9 or 10, but the room amenities brought it down to a solid 7 or low 8.”

“We have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions and would recommend it to others. It's a beautiful facility with wonderful views of Tucson and great amenities. Rooms are clean. Excellent restaurant & banquet facilities. Golf was really overpriced for the conditions. Course had been recently over seeded, which was not disclosed. Great reception throughout facility for wireless internet. However, they charge per computer, not per room. Two guests who each want to check email and log on at separate times for just a few minutes will have to pay the $12.95 fee twice for each 24 hour period. This gets expensive.”

“The hotel was nice, but very impersonal. We have stayed in many resorts and were disappointed in the employees' demeanor (except for one outstanding bellman, who really made our day!) We arrived at night and were unhappy to find that our room was not fully cleaned from the prior guests - it was disgusting. A cleaning crew took care of it, but it wasn't fun to wait around for housekeepers at 11 p.m. after a long day of travel (Dirty bathroom, not enough towels, and no robes). The following day the room was cleaned & stocked well, but the third day housekeeping again left us with a partially cleaned room. We gave up and didn't complain.”

“First we get there and are put in a room with double beds. He never gave us the mini-bar key so we asked for it to be brought, which they never did. So, I had to go up to the desk and get it. Everyday our room key didn't work, which we had to go to the front also for. Everything in the room was broken, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and the flush wouldn't work too well. Also, closet door knob was broken. Shouldn't they fix all that before they put people in there? The only comfortable thing was the Bed after we had to change rooms, which took another 30 minutes. At the end when we were checking out we saw that we were charged a daily service fee of $15. Isn't the front desk supposed to tell you of that before you check in? This definitely did not feel like a 4 star hotel. This is because the staff was retarded. They should hire more professional people.”

“The hotel overall was good, we had trouble accessing the wireless internet from day one. I placed several calls to the help desk and front desk to receive promises that they would re-start the access point. This did not happen until well into the second day of our stay as the access point is located in a hotel room and someone dropped the ball on the first day. I was unable to retrieve my email (being a CTO of a company I needed to keep in touch) so on the second day I had to call the front desk again and it took them until late in the afternoon to fix the problem. They took the internet charge off my bill as compensation, but this is a small gesture.”

“This was a beautiful setting in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. Do be prepared to walk a fair distance to any of the amenities provided by the resort. It appears the discounted rates puts you the furthest distance from the main lobby.”
