“La Paloma is on a par with Omni Tucson National and Ventana Canyon. Excellent pool areas that can be from kiddie to adults only. The freezing waterfall pool is unique and refreshing. Restaurant is expensive as you would expect. They have the sneaky daily resort fee that should be taken into account when budgeting. Use the self-parking for added value.”

“The air conditioner was capped at a certain temperature and it was warm. There was food floating in several spots in the pool and the water was not very clear.”

“The Westin La Paloma is very well situated near lots of interesting things to do and see. The resort is lovely with grand areas and private spots. The service was exceptional and they accomodated every need. I would highly recommend this resort!”

“Had my elderly parents and met other family there. Great setting for the younger set to play, but more difficult for older parents as the walk from parking and to the pools was long. Staff was
very helpful even poolside.”

“The hotel is in a beautiful location, close to the mountains. The common areas of the hotel were attractive and the bistro restaurant were nice. But the hotel is almost twenty years old and shows its age. The room was average and not particularly clean. The bed was old and the pillows were old and lumpy. The hotel charged an additional $15 per day as a service charge for its facilities, whether they were used or not. When we tried to make a reservation for dinner at the hotel's signature restaurant, we were told there was no availability, although the hotel did not seem particularly full at the time of our stay.”

“The Westin La Paloma is located in a beautiful area of Tucson. The views are scenic, the golf course challenging and the staff friendly. We did find ourselves going out to eat almost every meal because the food didn't suit our tastes. It seems to better suit the convention or business traveler rather than families.”

“Very overpriced for the quality and experience. Seems that they are solely relying on their conference business. Rooms are below the level of local 3 star hotels. But what do you expect for Tucson? Nearly all of the resort type hotels are old and in dire need of renovations. Maybe someday one of the Tucson resorts will get it right. In the meantime, stick with the 3 star hotels in Tucson.”

“The area is beautiful to those unfamiliar with the desert, the landscape is kept nicely. The pool area is very spacious and has a nice swim up bar. The rooms have older furniture and we found a roach crawling across the floor in the middle of the night. The front desk manager is very disquieting with his worries of being stiffed for room charges. all of the other staff was polite.”

“Not even close to a Four star hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. This hotel reminded me of a 2 to 3 star hotel. Its in need of a real face lift.”

“This resort is a no go! I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express the week before and had better service, nicer room, and they even provided 24 hour hot coffee for free! I will not stay at the Westin La Paloma ever again!”

“This was a wonderful resort with a beautiful view of the mountains and a great room. There were a lot of quail running around on the grounds. The landscape was immaculate and well designed. The beds were very comfortable. There was a bit of a walk to the rooms which was fine for us, but may be a hindrance to those with limitations. They did have a shuttle to use. Enjoyed our stay very much, would love to go back.”

“The staff was friendly and accommodating. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Room service was very good. Our deluxe room was clean and had a great view. The room was adequate. The "heavenly" bed was very comfortable in our room. Overall, the rooms at Loews ventana canyon resort and little America in flagstaff Arizona are better equipped than the rooms at la paloma for less money. The Westin la paloma seems better suited to corporate and business travelers. I would have ranked our stay at la paloma at a 9 or 10, but the room amenities brought it down to a solid 7 or low 8.”
