  • Great location, easy in/out. Lots of nearby shopping and restaurants. Staff was friendly. King Suite spacious enough.
  • No wireless Internet in King Suite. Bland rooms. Only 1 trolley for baggage for entire hotel.

“The hotel is pretty average for its rating. The rooms are bland with older furniture and carpets so it didn't have a fresh feeling. However, I didn't see any bugs or nasty problems either. I was in the king suite with my daughter to take her to a boarding school, and was not happy to find there was only one baggage cart for the entire hotel. So, if someone else was using it, you're out of luck. The king suites are on the corners of the hotel and mine could not get wireless internet. It took three calls in three days with three men before the last guy found an ethernet port behind some furniture. The first guy poked around, and then said he couldn't find any connections so he said someone else would have to come. I had to call the next day since no one had shown up. This guy poked around as well, and then declared that he didn't think my room (or any of the King Suites) could connect to the internet because it's too at the end of the hotel. Given that, I selected that hotel partly because I required internet service, I called the desk a 3rd time and asked that something be done about the problem. So, in walks guy #3. He poked around, as well, but he poked a bit harder and finally discovered an ethernet port and cable behind the furniture. I never got wireless access, but at least I finally got wired access around 10:00 pm on my last day there. This meant I could not use my laptop in the bedroom so I had to disturb my daughter who was sleeping in the living room while I used the internet. I just made do with what I had the best I could. While everyone was friendly, they were also somewhat aloof. They didn't seem to care whether I received their advertised services or not. They had a "oh well" attitude. They said I could just sit in the lobby when I wanted internet access (which is not the same as sitting in the bed in your pajamas). While they saw the problem, it didn't seem to affect them any. When it came to paying the bill, forget any kind of compensation. They don't guarantee their advertised amenities. So, basically, it's the luck of the draw as to what you get and don't get. And if you don't get it, "oh well" is all you'll receive. The suite was spacious enough. The bedroom was a bit tight, but not too bad. If I was on the other side of the hotel, I think I would have had a beautiful view. The windows actually opened which was nice even though it was very cold when I stayed (Jan 2007). I liked getting the fresh air. Overall, it was an okay stay. The internet issue was frustrating, but other than that, everything worked okay. It's a no frills hotel, but then it is a 2 1/2 to 3-star rated hotel. I'm going back to Utah next week, and am trying another hotel. If I had to stay at the Hampton Inn again, I'd do it. But I'd honestly like to find something better.”
