Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[1]

  • It was very comfortable.
  • It was WAY to close to train tracks. Trains all night.

“Good for short stays, or cheap business travels. Way too close to train tracks though, trains go all night. Not good for children or light sleepers (which we had both).”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[4] • Location:[1]

  • Air Conditioning worked.
  • Loud bar next door, close trains every 5-10m, blaring the horns. They have ear plugs at the counter. Worst place ever. Beware.

“Ok, where to begin. 1) Loud bar next door2) Trains very close blowing the horns all the time, as I'm sure it was close to a crossing. The frequency of the trains is horrid. Every 5-10 minutes. Trains travel in both directions. 3) They have ear plugs at the counter. That has to tell you something. 4) Bathroom had leaks from the toilet and the bathtub/shower. I even had to go get a plunger for the toilet from the front desk. 5) Very busy street out front. Route 66, need I say more. 6) Wi-Fi nearly non existent. Oh, it's there, you just can't connect to it. Techie by trade. No wired networking. 7) Cramped quarters, even for a 1 star. 8) Beds are sub-par.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[10] • Location:[5]

  • Friendly staff members, very helpful.
  • Right next to a bar with loud music, next to railroad tracks.

“Very friendly staff and helpful.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[7] • Location:[5]

  • Located good for our final destination.
  • Drafty, icy parking lot, near railroad tracks, old carpet, mold in shower.

“It worked for us because we had a long drive and we were tired when we arrived at 11:20 p.m. Management was good and responsive but the room was really dated with old dirty carpet (not because it had not been vacuumed) and there was mold in the grout of the tile shower. Room was very cold when we arrived.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Had joining rooms.
  • Older hotel, we were upper level and had to watch walking on floor.

“All in all it was a nice hotel could have been a little cleaner and the train runs every 30 min if you dont mind the sound.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[2] • Location:[6]

  • There was a bed. Because I was tired.
  • It was filthy. I wouldnt shower there because I felt like I would get dirtier.

“Horribly. The staff was nice, but completely unhelpful. The bathroom was so disgusting, I refused to shower there.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • It was close to where I needed to be.
  • It was very close to the train tracks.

“It was a great place to stay if you needs a place just to stay and don't mind the sound of the train. It was right on Route 66, and close to many attractions, but not so close to NAU that it was overpriced.”

Sep 4, 2007 by Nancy from The Dalles, OR

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[3] • Location:[1]

  • Nothing.
  • A loud train passed by on the hour all night blasting it's horn.

“We have stayed in HJ hotels many times and found them to be a great place to stay, but not in Flagstaff. It was the worst night I have ever staying in a hotel. A train blasted its horn every hour all night long. There was pink slime in the bathtub (which is easily cleaned).”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[5] • Location:[1]

  • The bed.
  • The never ending train horn!

“This hotel was located next to the train tracks. The train whistle blew loud and long every hour all night. I got no sleep! What a waste on money!”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[3] • Location:[1]

  • Price.
  • Its right next to the RR tracks - we didn't sleep through a night.

“This place is cheap, and for good reason. The Railroad runs right across the street all night long, whistle and all. The shower was downright dangerous - the temperature would become very hot very quickly and then become ice cold. I would advise against showering young children, disabled, elderly, or any person with slower reflexes- you will get burned.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[5]

  • Its in a good location despite being across the street from a railroad.
  • Room was awkwardly arranged.

“The outside appearance was fine, but when entering the room, the furniture looked like it didn't belong were it was. Overall it was clean, but the bathroom shower fixture could use some repair. This room was on the lower side- even for an economy room.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[7] • Location:[1]

  • Nothing.
  • Next to the train tracks every hour on the hour the train went by blowing its whistle.

“Do not stay here if you want to sleep; cheap and not worth the price! I would have spent twice as much just to get sleep!”

“Railway trains passing the hotel at all hours of the day and night usually blowing their whistles right by the hotel.”

“This hotel is next to a train track. The trains would blow their horn, every time they passed, at least every 45 minutes. The mattress was very thin. The room smelled of smoke. It was next to a large roadhouse bar with a live band. This is a biker motel. We did not sleep. How can this hotel be included on your website? Don't you have any pride?”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[5] • Location:[5]

  • The lady at the front desk was very friendly.
  • The bathroom was rather old and unkempt; repairs poorly executed.

“I guess for the price it was okay. We were offered ear plugs at the front desk as it is just across from the train tracks. The cleanliness was a little questionable and so made me wonder why it was a 2 1/2 star and not just a 2-star or less.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[4] • Location:[4]

  • It was about a step up from motel 6.
  • Not very exciting, but a place to rest after a long day.

“The best western in Barstow was far superior to the Howard Johnson¿s in flagstaff in my opinion.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[9] • Location:[6]

  • Friendly staff, good cable TV.
  • Loud train, drunks, needs major renovation, unsafe.

“Would never stay their again. As a mother, I was disgusted that my teenage children were exposed to that environment and had to hear the language they heard that night at 2 am.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Cheap and value for money.
  • Train horn.

“There is lot of negative ratings. But at this rate I can't expect better. Train horn is a problem but not for me. The adjacent restaurant is good.”
