  • Clean, friendly/helpful staff. Good location.
  • Small rooms.

“Well located, boutique, somewhat overpriced for size of rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

  • The only thing I liked about this hotel is that I got to check out and leave!
  • Unpleasant experience from the valet parking to checkout.

“We were put on floor 7 which was for travelers with pets which I am allergic to. Room was very small with only a drain in the floor for a shower. Asked to be moved to another room with tub and room had dog dishes and bedding still on the floor!”

  • Loved the wine hour!
  • Parking sucks.

“We absolutely loved our stay at the hotel Monaco. We had a romantic room with a great view on the 12th floor. The room was beautiful and very un-hoteley (I know that's not a word!). We will stay there again!”

  • I liked the elegance and the wine reception and massage.

“It was an adventure not your ordinary hotel.”

  • The rooms were well decorated.
  • No airport shuttle!

“No airport shuttle! Thats not an a 3+ upscale hotel! Had to pay an additional 30.00 for a cab to the airport that was less than 10 minutes away.”

  • Noting but location.
  • The hotel should not be rated 4 star. Shabby chic at best. Elevator broken, no light on bedside.

“Under construction, poorly maintained, elevators not working, lamp not replaced, old decor. terrible.”

  • The bar.
  • Pretty much everything.

“This Hotel is Horrible! The room was so small about all that fit was the bed and not working TV, we had to walk sideways everywhere. When we asked the desk about the TV they said it would take too much paperwork to do so we were just out of luck. There is no pool and no hot tub. We felt so claustrophobic in that little room with no TV. I am so glad I did not have my kids! The room also comes with robes which are so hard you can't even try to put them on.”

  • Very hip and unusual decor. The staff and service were excellent.

“Very good experience. The only thing I did not like about the hotel is that you had to pay for parking every night at $15.00 per night and valet parking was the only way to park your car. Positives, very clean, very hip decor in the rooms and public spaces. The staff was excellent.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[6] • Location:[9]

  • I liked the little touches - towels tied with bows etc. and friendly staff.
  • It is right on top of a construction site!

“This hotel was lovely, well situated, and full of friendly staff. Boutique is code for small, however. And the rooms were tiny. I expect that in NYC, but in Salt Lake? There's enough room to go around! For four stars they should be larger. I did like the little touches, though, like fancy soaps, bows on various items, beautiful non-hotel curtains etc.”

  • It was very well decorated and clean.
  • Construction next door. No parking close by.

“You should have a disclaimer about the construction of skyscraper next door. No wonder they had rooms available.”

  • This hotel exceeded my expectations by far!

“Wow, what a refreshing experience! Something new and well above the others! There was some construction next to the hotel by this did not in any way take away from the experience. The hotel restaurant was just amazing.”

  • Loved the boutique.
  • You had no choice but to valet.

“Wonderful little boutique in a great location to all restaurants and activities in the downtown.”

  • Good location in city.
  • Valet parking only and no pool.

“This hotel is more for weekend getaways for the adult crowd. Not recommended for travel with children, items in room not appropriate for all age levels.”

  • The staff and the level of service was great!
  • The door for the TV cabinet was a little inconvenient to the bathroom.

“The hotel was beautiful and the staff & service was absolutely perfect! The wake-up calls were a live person with a smile in their voice. Nice way to start the day.”

  • It had a great location for Downtown SLC and the sites there.
  • For a 4 star hotel, the bathroom was not very lavish.

“Good location, Clean, staff was friendly and helpful, valet parking available because there was not any parking near the hotel (cost $15) great food, but very expensive. All extras were very expensive and everything was extra.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • It was very clean & well staffed hotel.
  • We were put in a room that was smaller than all other rooms we say and construction next door.

“Very nice hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. Everything was well maintained in our room nothing had to be called to have repaired.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • I loved the decorations and the smell was great!
  • The only thing that I didn't like was the room that we got was rather small, cute, but small.

“I loved the atmosphere and the help was fantastic! I would stay there again, definitely. Also they seemed to enjoy helping my friend and I out with everything, from valet to taking our bags.”

  • Bed was very comfortable.
  • Small room - no in-room coffee.

“The Hotel Monaco was very nice. We had a small room with a large bathroom. The view out of our window was a parking garage. I would stay there again - but I really missed not having in-room coffee.”
