• Good location, decorated cute.
• The hotel staff.

“We enjoyed the look of the hotel. It was clean and comfortable and decorated in a fun manner. The close proximity to the TRAX Station was convenient. However, the staff needs some better customer service skills. Especially the night staff. The fire alarm malfunctioned and went off for about 20 minutes at approximately 11:00 pm at night, causing people to come out of their rooms and worry that there was a fire. There was no staff attempting to reassure guests in the hallways or down in the lobby. Instead, just the rude clerk at the front desk stating it was a malfunction. No apologies and little reassurance especially as the fire department did arrive shortly thereafter with lights and sirens. The next morning at checkout no one apologized for the inconvenience or anything. They just acted like it didn't happen and when I brought it up they just brushed my comments aside and said nothing. I didn't think any of the staff rose to the 4 diamond level of service.”

• The staff was very accommodating and the hotel had a very attractive decor.
• Did not like the fact that there was the valet parking option only.

“The hotel was great! I was there for fun and relaxation. I enjoyed the happy hour in the evening with the chair massages. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The only negative thing I can say is there was no public parking, valet services became expensive between the daily fee and tips.”

• Great selection of free newspapers; excellent valet service.
• Rooms are on the small side. No hot tub or pool.

“This hotel provides a great base for skiing multiple areas around SLC. The staff is extremely gracious, and the little extras like good free newspapers and the daily wine hour.”

• This is a very comfortable relaxing hotel, especially after coming in from the snow.
• Water was too hot always had to remember to turn on cold first not to burn also construction outside window.

“Excellent hotel close to walking distance to downtown sites. Relaxing fireplace in lobby. Very clean.”

• Very SMALL room.

“The bathroom cold water faucet leaked badly when on and the sink would not drain. On the positive side, the restaurant (Bambara) had an excellent breakfast menu/food.”

“Good location in Downtown SLC, we have stayed in other hotels in the immediate area and felt that Hotel Monaco held their own in quality and service with a lower price that others in the area charge. The PM cocktail reception and complementary massage was a bonus for those who drink. Morning coffee service in lobby was tasty and appreciated.”

• Parking--Valet only available @ $15.50/night.

“Excellent--4 star all the way. Only Valet parking is available, which costs more, and quite inconvenient.”

• The rooms were clean and well kept I like how trendy they were!
• The beds said double beds. There was no way that was a double more like a twin and a half.

“I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. The staff was very helpful and very accommodating, they even gave us a gold fish for our room, which I thought was fun, its clean and I felt very safe. I would stay here again.”

• It was beautiful and very clean.
• There was no where to park so valet parking was a must which was $16.

“My husband sent me to get a good night sleep after being up with sick twin babies for 4 nights. There was a beeping sound in my room all night. My children fell asleep so I didn't want to wake them by calling the desk. I didn't sleep a wink. I went home feeling sick and exhausted. When I told the front desk when I checked out they just said I should have called during the night.”

• Daughter was disappointed that there was no pool.

• It is just lovely, clean and well maintained; quiet!

“This is a great boutique hotel located in the center of downtown SLC. Only problem is construction on the south part of the building so this part of the building can be noisy.”

• Unique, fun, and eclectic design coupled with luxury comforts in the bed and location bath goodies.
• No sauna or hot tub.

“Fun place to stay which pushes beyond the bounds of the typical big chain, top-tier hotels. Not your typical Hilton or Hyatt. Great location in historic building filled with friendly staff.”

“There was no parking, so you have to use valet. The room had an empty malt liquor bottle in it. The room was very tiny and the decorations were not attractive. Definitely wasn't my favorite hotel and didn't merit its star review.”

• The gym has free weights, I like that.
• Expensive valet parking, no internet, staff uneducated about local businesses, (pharmacy hours, free internet).

“This seems like a great hotel to stay at with your girlfriend or wife. The rooms are small so plan on getting out a lot. The internet was down for my whole trip making it impossible to get any work done in my hotel room. I will never stay at this hotel again on a business trip.”
