  • Nice swimming pool.
  • The room was extremely small.

“I was upset because they charged me $12 a night for parking. Nothing was ever said about that fee. It was a hidden fee that was never mentioned. I found out when I checked out of the hotel. I wasnt happy about this at all and the hotel employees didnt care what I thought. I will never stay here again.”

  • Facilities.
  • Staff lied to us. Very bad experience.

“The facility was very nice. We soon began to notice that something was very wrong. There was a convention in the hotel and it was clear that these were not people we were comfortable to be around. I asked the desk who this group was. I was told he did not know. Upon arriving home, I looked the group up and it became all to clear.”

  • The bed was the extremely comfortable. Love it!
  • There was construction in front of the hotel which may it hard to get to.

“I was greatly impressed by the hotel. I usually stay at Little America or the Grand America and they are fabulous but for the price, I will be staying at the Marriot for future visits to SLC.”

  • Comfortable bed.
  • For a business traveler, I would appreciate free internet access.

“When I entered the assigned room I noticed that the closet door was off of it's track and I was unable to open it. I contacted the front desk and they sent engineering, 1.5 hours later. The second morning of my stay the room above sprung a leak. It was a waterfall in my room between the vanity and the closet. Fortunately I was able to move my shoes before they were damaged. I contacted the front desk and they said, I'll tell engineering. I waited more than an hour, packed my bag and went to the front desk to request a new room. They were accommodating but not apologetic. I ate at both the restaurant and the lounge. Service was slow at both. Most disturbing was the lounge, the two people that were working there had their backs to the customers the entire time I was there. They were busy discussing their schedules and vacations and how to best use their hours. They were loud and it was very unprofessional.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[6] • Location:[6]

  • Easy access to city offices and restaurants.
  • The bed was sunken on the side with the lamp. It seemed worn out from too many people or too heavy people sitting on that side.

“It was nice and as I expected except for the issue with the bed.”

  • Location was great!
  • Parking was limited; the bathrooms need to be updated!

“The stay was fine, the room was nice, great beds, and bathrooms need to be updated. The view and big windows were nice. Probably would stay again!”

  • The View.
  • The Bed was very uncomfortable.

“This Hotel had a very beautiful view of downtown Salt Lake City and of the Wasatch Mountains. But having to pay $12 to park and $10 for high speed internet at a 4 star hotel was a bit ridiculous. I've stayed at other 4 star and 3 star Hotels in downtown Salt Lake and I've had free parking and free high speed internet. Also having a little Generic 25 inch TV in a 4 star I thought was a bit of a hit on this hotel as Little America has 40" plasma screens in their hotels. The beds were soft (if you like that) and overall it was an ok hotel to stay at. I will probably not stay here again in the future because I can pay the same price and get the Jacuzzi suite at the Hampton inn down the street and also a free breakfast and get the same quality of room.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[3] • Location:[4]

  • Enjoyed my snack at the bar.
  • Front desk staff were efficient, but not friendly, as I would expect from a 4-star. Room was small.

“I think it's definitely a 3-star. The room was small and in need of a remodel. The whole place is somewhat dated. The front desk staff was efficient, but I wouldn't call them friendly. We enjoyed a bite to eat at the bar, which was quite good. The location could be excellent when the construction next door is finished, but as of now, our view was a gigantic hole. No shopping and not much else to do nearby at the moment.”

  • Modern decor, Starbucks in lobby.
  • Put me on construction side without warning, heater broke.

“Great value and location. Modern decor. Starbucks in lobby. They should offer to put you on the quiet side when you check in, however. Construction starts at 5:30 a.m.”

  • The fitness/pool area was outstanding and very well kept.
  • The room and bathroom were a little small.

“The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The pool/fitness area was outstanding. The only thing that I was not happy with is that when we checked in we were given two double beds, (it was my husband and myself staying at the hotel). The clerk was quite curt when I asked for a king bed saying, "there was no request for a king bed and double was all they had left."”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[4] • Location:[7]

  • Nice bed and pillows.
  • They charge you for everything (parking, internet, water, etc.).

“If you want to pay for everything you want to do, then go here. If not, find a Hampton or something that includes something more than towel usage.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[7]

  • There was a Starbucks in the lobby.
  • The rooms were small and plain.

“The lobby makes this hotel look like the 4-star hotel I chose. The rooms, however, were ripped from Motel 6.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • Location, easy to get to, great health club.
  • Construction everywhere. kind of a drab hotel.

“If you're going to see the Mormon Temple, You're right across the street. It's the old "Marriott" hotel, been there, done that, but it works.”

  • The restaurant was helpful and allowed us use a private room for a family gathering.
  • We had I-phone ear buds stolen while our car was valet parked and will not return our phone calls.

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • Great shower. Tons of volume and pressure. Consistent temperature.
  • Tired. Peeling wallpaper, torn carpet. Small bathroom.

“Well located to the salt palace and the rest of Downtown. Staff is friendly, though some lack professionalism. Facility is tired and in need of major room renovation. Rooms and bathrooms are cramped and somewhat uncomfortable in spite of upgraded linens. Overall, not bad and it met my needs for business travel that didn't require much time in the room. Definitely in the three star range, not four.”
