“I thought the hotel was well kept and attractive. I would have preferred something that wasn't quite so mid-town, however, that was one of the criteria that I selected.”

• Enjoyed swimming pool and hot tub for the hot climate.
• Very difficult to find, parking lot inconveniently located.

• Extremely friendly staff, very clean hotel, great location.
• Our room smelled really weird.

“The staff, Downtown location, and cleanliness of this hotel was great. It was really quiet, probably not very occupied with all the road and light rail construction around the hotel. My only complaint was that the room had a strange bad smell when we got there which lasted throughout our stay. We had to rush out to a Suns game so we decided to tough out the smell. It was probably just our room that was affected; I think we were right next to a utility room.”

• Spacious room, good value, shuttle service.
• Construction made it confusing to get to hotel.

“Quiet and spacious rooms with comfortable king bed. Bathroom had nice granite countertops and a hand held shower head in tub. Free shuttle to Chase Ballpark was convenient. Only complaint would be about the lighting (or lack of it) near the coffee and microwave. There was also only chair to sit on besides the desk chair.”

• Location, quality of room & common areas, comfort.
• Difficult to access rooms from check-in area e.g. directional signs were unclear or non existent; was given no parking pass.

“Very comfortable and attractive room and common areas, although rooms were a bit difficult to access. Gentleman at front desk was somewhat arrogant or condescending and failed to explain parking arrangement or give me a pass. Young woman the next a.m. was more cordial and helpful. I would choose it over most other hotels given an equal cost and agreeable location.”

• It was cheap. I didn't expect to get anything at that price.
• Staff rude, hotel address not on right road, when asking for two rooms would like them close together especially when the hotel is empty.

“Half of the hotel looked really nice. These guys would only give us rooms with one double bed. We also had to fight with them about getting two rooms on the same floor. They seemed to be treating us poorly because we prepaid for the room. After I fought a little we did get a room with two beds, but we ended up not using the second room because it was not convenient for us. I could understand if the hotel was full, but in this case it was obviously not.”

• For the star rating it was a really nice place.

“It was very quiet friendly place and would recommend it highly. The desk help could not of been more helpful!”

• Staff were very helpful and accommodating, room had everything we needed, kids had a blast.
• Construction on the roads in front of the hotel - not the hotel's fault.

“It was just what our family needed. Hotel staff were friendly to us and our kids-put us in a room by the pool. Everything was clean and bright. You can tell it is an older hotel, but well maintained with pride of ownership and care. We had all the amenities we needed. Thank you.”

• Very nice room and bed and pillows.
• They closed the pool early, hard to find location, Spartan lobby.

“The hotel is tucked away behind some skyscrapers, so it made it very hard to find. We drove past it like 3 times trying to find it. They need to have some signage on the main road "central." other than that, very pleasant stay, except they closed the pool early.”

• The cozy atmosphere.
• The swimming pool was not really children friendly; it was too deep. They need a more spacious shallow area.

“I liked it, it was nice and accommodating. I did not like the entrance though. With the construction going on it was difficult to maneuver in and out. Yet, we were able to find another side entrance.”

• Friendly staff, spacious well-decorated room.
• Neighborhood did not feel safe at night.

“The Hilton garden inn is an upscale hotel with friendly staff that makes you feel at home. The rooms are very spacious and tastefully decorated. The area of town has a lot of road construction and it makes it a little more difficult to get around the area. I was in phoenix for business and would gladly stay at the Hilton garden inn again if I needed to return to the city.”

• Aside from being very clean, I thought the checkout time of 12.00 o'clock was excellent.
• Only that the light bulbs in the room need to be checked to make sure they are not burned out.

“It was an excellent hotel and very sounds proof. Couldn't even tell there were people in the next room.”
