“A fancy hotel on the old strip. Very clean very glamorous. The pool was beautiful but more for just laying out than any actual swimming. Chairs pushed real close together, many people could not get lounge chairs to lay out on. Room was clean and spacious; unfortunately the construction that starts after midnight and goes on till the morning gave us and other hotel guests we spoke with a very hard time. Would probably not stay there again.”

“This hotel is not bad; the hourly light show is awesome; you can get anything you want within a 5 block walking distance. Food prices reasonable; this hotel is up all night, but once you go in your room for sleep, you hear nothing. I would take this hotel over the strip every time.”

“Great place to stay except this trip. The motel should warn visitors if they know a night construction date if scheduled. We could not sleep due to the noise and was told by the desk they had to do the construction at night. We were told by the desk that night and the following morning during check out our room would be chomped. We have yet to see a refund for that night.”

“The hotel has a nice appearance in the common areas. However, the room was merely average. The bed was akin to what you'd find in a motel 6 or super 8. It definitely not fit what I've come to expect from a 4 star hotel. There was no fridge or mini-bar in the room, and the bathroom was very small. There are very few TV channels and the TV itself was very old and not a good picture. The common areas were clean, but crowded. There is a very impressive pool area, but it's in the middle of the hotel so you feel like your a fish in an aquarium. There is no room to spread out, and you're lucky if you're able to get a place to sit at all. The hotel reeks of cigarette smoke, and there is really no where to go to get away from it. The Fremont street experience was a nice show, but not worth having to stay in the sub-par hotel. This hotel should not be rated any higher than a 2.5 star. It certainly is no where near 4 star quality.”

“For a sleepless night and moving both rooms from floor/ 5th /15/16 and we had to be ready by 5:00 pm for a wedding cause this was part of a wedding party and all they did was give us a free buffet so construction keep us on first night and we got moved 3 different times second day. But here's a free buffet. If you plan on going ask for rooms with up graded mattresses or else you won't be happy.”

“Hotel overall ok. As a group traveling if everybody doesn't book at the same time then changes are not allowed. I think a little flexibility to make changes would greatly increase your business.”

“The hotel offers guests an opportunity to visit the older, original area of Las Vegas. This is a great location if you want good entertainment and only need a decent bed. It is not a good option for the business traveler who is not interested in gambling. Since this is an older hotel, the rating (star) is higher than what I believe it should be.”

“I was treated terribly upon arrival. It was 2AM and barely a person around when I pulled up to the Golden Nugget. The valet told me I couldn't park in the crescent driveway. I said, I'm just going to register and drop off my luggage. He made me move my car 20 feet and wanted my keys. I complied, registered got my keys back and started to unload my luggage. He wanted my keys again. I said no. I went in. He followed me insisted on my keys, security officer came over, I called for the manager Anna Lee Soltero. They would not let me go to my room without giving up my keys. I said I'm exhausted and I need to get to my room after a 12 hr trip and I was not well. Their options were that I give the keys or park my car in the Self Park and bring my luggage from there. I drove to Self Park and hauled my luggage to my room exhausted and fell asleep without taking my blood pressure, cholesterol, heart, diabetes, and AIDS medications which were still in my car. I was ill for the next day and a half. The interchange was worse than this summary. I complained to the day manager who was sympathetic but what could be done? The incident was over. Anna Lee Soltero and the Valet should be suspended without pay at the very least, and the hotel policy should be flexible especially with older and ill guests. The staff should not make the guests aggravated and more ill. Those two people gave me a bad feeling that lasted my entire stay. The bed was extremely comfortable, the rest of the staff were fine, the food at the buffet was very good. The room was beautiful with a great view.”

“Was very unhappy with front desk. Did not advise me that, I would be getting a smoking room when I asked for nonsmoking. When advised front desk, room smelled horribly of cigarette. All they did was send room service up with deodorizer. Next day asked for management moved our room to another standard room with a cold apology. Since I was there to celebrate my 37th b-day. I was not going to let the inconvenience of management and that front desk ruin my Vegas weekend & the rest of the golden nugget staff was friendly even though it did take about an hour to get our car and luggage from valet & baggage.”

“Hotel was clean, the rooms a nice size and the location is excellent. We took the bus to the strip when we wished from a stop two blocks from the Golden Nugget which was very convenient. And my wife and I enjoy the Frement Street experience over the hustle and bustle of the strip.”

“I've stayed at The Golden Nugget multiple times and I always enjoy myself. The hotel is large enough that there is plenty to do but small enough that you can get from one place to another easily. The Downtown location is also fun and different. The hotel is very nice and the food at all the restaurants is excellent.”
