“The housekeeping was good when you could catch the maid. We stayed three nights when the bed/room was cleaned on the third morning. The ceiling fan motor was noisey and the room had been well used; i.e. broken chairs and the room was located right on the street thus traffic noise. Was not a good experience.”

“It was not a roach motel like people said it was going to be like. It was actually cleat and the staff was nicest.”

“The hotel met my expectation based on star rating and price. It was conveniently located and check in and out was quick and painless.”

“I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this hotel. We arrived late, and had no other options, otherwise we would have been quick to find alternative lodging! We needed a pet friendly hotel, and our options were limited.”

“The hotel was pretty much what I expected out of the cheapest place to stay in Vegas. We did have a couple of problems, but they were solved pretty quickly and courteously. When we arrived, we were given a room key to a room that was still dirty. The maid was a couple of doors down, so we asked her to clean it up and she did right away. The bed and pillows were not particularly comfortable, so you might want to bring your own pillows. The last problem was that the walls are pretty thin, so we could hear the domestic spat above us. We called a couple of times to the front desk about it and they sent someone right away each time. The location is great, though. It's on Las Vegas Blvd, just north of the strip, right after you see a sign welcoming you to Downtown. It also had a decent Cuban restaurant attached.”

“It could have been better, I have been to smaller hotels than this with better accommodations, the TV did not work, the lights kept going out. I would never recommend the Howard Johnson to anyone. I was totally disgusted with that hotel.”

“It had bed bugs. Restaurant was good but service was horrible. Saw the server twice to take the order and give us the check. The cook even brought us food. The front deskman was a dick. Guy selling crack on the corner.”

“Nothing seemed to work right at the hotel, everything felt really creepy and dirty. I did not feel comfortable walking around bare foot and the shower did not work to well. The staff was rude and offered little assistance when asked. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and neither should you.”

“Although my expectations were low, it was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Empty liquor bottles and used washcloths tucked away were what welcomed us to our beyond humble abode. The sliding glass door was not on track, and there were multiple holes in the textiles. There was no remote or alarm clock in the room (we were made aware it was because of theft, and none were available to us per request either). Beds were made, but the condition of the rest of the room made us question the cleanliness of them. I felt like I was on the business end of a CSI case, not what Vegas should be known for. The front desk staff was cordial, but seemed surprised by our constructive criticism upon check out. They did, however, offer 50% off our next stay with them. You couldn't pay me to stay there again. We are economy travelers with 2 small children and simply wanted a safe, clean, quiet stop over on our road trip.”

“It's a good place to stay if you want a central location between the strip and Downtown but you can stay at a much nicer hotel/casino up on the strip for about 30/40 more a night.”

“I would never recommend this "hotel" to anyone. The hotel shuttle service from the Las Vegas airport does not even take you there. Upon arriving at the place I saw why. Greeting us on our arrival was a transient begging out front. As we were late arrivals, there was no selection of rooms, so we got what they had. The room was small and had a musty smell to it. There was a large hole in the wall in a corner of the room. The wiring for the heat/ac was exposed and hanging from the unit. Thin walls allowed you to hear all conversations in next rooms. Screaming in the hallways commenced at 3 am and calls to the front desk brought no response. Howard Johnsons corporate should be appalled at the condition of this "flea bag motel" that bears its name!”

“The entrance into the hotel was inconvenient and hard to find, I was scared to be there at all, especially at night. The heating unit was strange to control and hard to understand, there were no instructions. After freezing the first night we had to call the front desk to learn that you had to slide your key into a slot near the front of the room, nowhere near the controls, to keep it on. The staff only gave us three towels each night, even though we registered for 4 adults, we had to ask for more each time. If I had known the neighborhood I would have paid much more to avoid it. You are not helping to make a sale by avoiding specific downfalls of a hotel, you are actually missing out on an up sell opportunity and have ensure that I will not use a system that does not tell me where I will be sleeping before purchasing a room.”
