• Newly renovated and surprisingly nice!
• Non-smoking rooms still had a smoke smell.

• The unique set up of the hotel rooms and the flat screen TV's in the rooms.
• The smell of the hotel room.

“Room was nicer than I thought it would be. Although, since they have been recently renovated, there were some lingering odors.”

• The mini kitchen in the room.
• The hallways are very hospital-like; i.e. Cold.

“An excellent hotel for travelers on a budget. It is clean and the newly decorated rooms are comfortable. The kitchenette feature is also a great addition.”

• The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. It is close to shopping, freeways, trolley, and there is an excellent Mexican restaurant next door.
• Unfortunately they were redoing the pool so it was unavailable.

“The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. One manager came up to my room to reprogram my remote. Good breakfast. It is also close to The Village in downtown La Mesa, several shopping areas with a grocery store and several restaurants, and two freeways - the 8 and 94. There is also an excellent Mexican restaurant right next door. I recommend the fish tacos. The ONLY downside: the hotel was remodeling so the pool was closed.”

• I appreciated the microwave and refrigerator in the room.
• They were remodeling and construction was going on.

“I could hear noise from other rooms; the pool was not available for use; the lobby was shabby-looking. The bed was comfortable and the microwave and refrigerator in the room was nice.”

• Very nice morning staff and continental breakfast was pretty good.
• A/C noisy.

“The lobby was being remodeled but appears that it will be nice when finished. The room was conveniently equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. We may stay here again if we are passing through the area.”

• The furniture was very nice.
• There was no hot tub, and undergoing construction, woke us up in the early morning.

“The hotel was great and the management was even better! He helped us a lot, and gave us easy directions to get there.”

• Staff is really nice.
• Remodeling - so hallways are noisy with no carpet.

“The area is not very busy. It has lot's of potential but the remodeling makes it very noisy and not worth the money.”

• Felt Like a residence inn. Towels were skimpy.

“They need to do a lot of improving to be considered a 2-star hotel. Though clean, the hallways were prison like. The free breakfast was not able to be eaten because the room was overflowing with children. They need more tables and chairs. Bath towels reminded me of 6th grade camp. Small and thin. They were a joke! Hot and cold were reversed in the shower. After setting it to a comfortable temperature the temperature changed 15 degrees up and down for unknown reasons. Not good.”

“The hotel was clean but it was being remodeled at the time of our stay. We were looking for Travelodge and the sign outside said Ramada.”

• It had a very large room.
• It was difficult to find (poor signage).

“The staff was very friendly and the room was large and clean. The hotel is going through remodeling so it was not very attractive & the sign had not been changed, which made it difficult to find.”

• Beautiful, clean room and hotel, friendly staff.
• I liked everything.

“Hotel is being remodeled and is looking beautiful. The price is great. The rooms are clean, big, and very nice. The extras, such as coffee, iron, microwave, refrigerator, etc., are very important and are appreciated. Very nice hotel.”

• They charged us to have a non-smoking room.

“I often travel with my children and there is no problem to change to a double bed room. However, this time they charge us $20 extra dollars to switch to a double bed, non-smoking room. First time I experienced this.”

“We were put in a room that was totally unacceptable the second we opened the door the smell of smoke was overpowering. When we refused to stay in that room, we were told we always book smoking rooms. After some negotiations we were placed in another more acceptable room. This facility should be removed from your roster.”
