  • Nothing.
  • Dirty, smelly, rude staff, junk vehicle in parking lot full of trash.

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. There were rooms that were long-term living for questionable-looking individuals. There was a junk car sitting in the parking lot full off trash. The office staff was rude when I went back to ask for a different room because the one he had assigned smelled of smoke and my child is allergic to smoke. The continental breakfast area smelled so foul and was so dirty that I did not even consider eating the "Rise and Dine" breakfast. The swimming pool was being cleaned by a person who was smoking and dropping his ashes into the water. The pool itself was chipped and dirty. Mildew everywhere outside by the ice machine, inside in the bathroom, pool area. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.”

  • Location.
  • Old; rude & lazy staff.

“Overall this hotel looked old and the bathroom was very unattractive. The staff was rude and were not very accommodating. I wouldn't stay there again and the hotel is way overpriced.”

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“Bad rooms with very old furniture and antiquated TV, bad service from the beginning, room was given to someone else and was given the a room for emergencies but the door won't open (they knew ahead of time and had given me the wrong key until they found a solution) and I had to go back and forth three time until the manager came and give me a room (a bad one).”

  • Nothing.
  • It was in the get to and a bail bondsman was walking to one of the rooms looking for someone to arrest.

“This hotel was over priced and is in a bad location (in the get to) with bars on the windows and I would not stay there ever again. As we pulled up to the HOJO, there was a bail bondsman looking for someone who was wanted in one of the rooms. We felt that our safety was in jeopardy staying in this HOJO in the location that it was in.”

  • Fridge and microwave in room.
  • Manager was unbelievably rude, room was old and mold infested.

“We arrived on a Sunday night and there were few occupants at the hotel. We received upstairs rooms that were four doors down from each other. I asked the manager if there was anyway our rooms could be closer since we had children and needed them in the next room. I was shocked at how rude the manager was, as he curtly told me he could do nothing to help us. I told him we had asked for a room downstairs since one family member recently had foot surgery and he told me that I was a liar since I did not speak to him when I called Howard Johnson two weeks earlier. Since we were locked in to these rooms because payment takes place online, there was nothing I could do but file a complaint with Howard Johnson Inc. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, as the rooms were disgusting and the management obscene.”
