• Good for families with young children.
• Breakfast has a lot to be desired. Not enough selection.

“I would consider it again if I were traveling with children. Close enough to beaches, zoo and Sea World. Neighborhood not the best. Overall, it is adequate, although it is not very modern.”

• The Pool and location were great.
• The bathrooms were terrible.

“I thought that location of this hotel was fantastic. The rooms were rundown and the bathrooms were awful. The pool area was really nice.”

• Free High Speed Internet, underground parking.
• Not enough electrical outlets in the room.

“An older hotel in a marginal neighborhood, but near downtown and reasonably close to freeways. Underground parking, large lobby, large pool area make it unnecessary to wander around outside the grounds unless you want to drive somewhere. Free high speed Internet via a cable from the front desk worked very well.”

• Great pool and great parking.
• Breakfast in the morning was very limited.

“This is an allowed smoking hotel, so be warned. The parking is excellent and access to the room is easy. The pool is centrally located. The rooms are large and the beds are great. It was clean. Don't expect too much at the breakfast. Eggs and toast and cereal with a limited selection of fruit. Overall a good value.”

• The hotel layout as such that all rooms had a back door to the courtyard that the pool was in.
• The parking was limited and spaces were very small.

“I generally liked the hotel. It was very irritating that the maid took our old towels but forgot to replace them with new ones.”

• Convenient location.
• Staff appeared to be aloof and customer focused.

“Overall the hotel accommodations were good and lived up to my expectations. On two occasions I requested directions to specific venues in San Diego and the staff was aloof and did not take the time to write down directions or even look at me when talking. Both times the staff provided me with verbal directions, however, I had to contact the venue I was going to get clearer directions. Thanks for listening.”

• The atmosphere.
• The rooms could be a little cleaner.

“We really enjoyed our stay. We reserved a lanai suite which is located next to the pool. Only worth it if you can get a downstairs room in my opinion. We were able to walk right out of our French doors onto the pool deck. The breakfast buffet has everything you need however the set up could be improved as it can get very crowded and doesn't allow for a second trip without waiting in line. If I would have been feeding only myself this would not have been a problem, but with two small children I needed to make multiple trips. Our family was unable to eat all at the same time. With that said, I love this hotel. I have stayed here at least five times now. The pool is beautiful and takes you back to a different time. The Red Fox restaurant serves great food and I love the dark red ambiance.”

• The suite was wonderful. I liked that breakfast was included.
• Out of the way for the places I wanted to visit.

“The hotel is an older hotel but well kept. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The pool is Olympic size so you can enjoy swimming without people bumping into you.”

• Elegant lobby with very inviting entry into the swimming pool area.
• If your room is near the elevator (ours was) you can hear it operating all night. It was disturbing.
