  • Nothing.
  • The cleanliness.

“Sheets were nasty. The first room was not ready for guest. Bed uncomfortable. No positives here.”

  • The front desk did bring us pillows when we found none in the room along with calling for a cab.
  • It smelled like formal dehyde, it was exceptionally dirty, and the shower did not drain and well as the sheets not fitting the bed.

“When I arrived at the motel the room that was given to us had the door open and was completely dirty, so we were given another room key. The next room had no pillows on it and all the appliances were set up with no plugs around them or with 3 prongs b 2 pronged sockets. The bed was so old that its creakiness and springs poking into our backs kept us up all night. This could have been overlooked if the sheets would have actually stayed on the bed but by the time we woke up we were sleeping on the mattress. It was suppose to be a king size bed but actually was a double with single sized sheets on it. the shower filled up the whole time you were bathing which is completely unsanitary, and took over a half hour to drain, we called the plumber in to no avail. What really was disturbing was the smell of formaldehyde inside the room which gave us excruciating headaches. We stayed at this hotel because its price was good but actuality it was just as pricey as the next hotel because they charged you 14 dollars to park your car outside! We got there at 10 pm the first night and they still charged us along with the morning we checked out. I would comment on the pool which they were suppose to have, but this pool was at the holiday inn next door and roadway inn customers were no longer able to use it. The best part was the stoner chick pounding on our door to ask us if she could look for her weed that she had accidentally forgotten the other night and was now staying 2 doors down. Good job roadway in.”

  • Free continental breakfast.
  • No business center.

“The hotel was fine. We needed four walls, a couple beds, a shower, and a TV for a reasonable rate and that's exactly what we got.”

  • Pay for parking, room lacks maintenance.

“In the room, one bed light doesn't work. bathroom lock doesn't work too. You have to pay $14 for a dark underground parking. And cannot even access parking from hotel's yard.”

  • Clean, and nice sauna.

“It is nice hotel over all. I would say this hotel is better than other hotels in this area. As well, good size of room and free parking.”

  • location close to gaslamp quarter in downtown san diego.
  • did not offer free parking and was charging 15 dollars a day to park there even when there is plenty of outside parking

“Older motel with some remodeling of the rooms. Right of the State Highway 163 Ash Street exit. Walking distance to downtown/gaslamp area of town. Safe residential area with newer upscale condos surrounding the property.”

  • I didnt like anything sorry.
  • I didnt like the way I was treated by the receptionist.

“Since I got there I didnt like the rooms because it was a strong smell of cigars and I had infants I talk to the receptionist to see if I can have another room but the only answer I had was: I m sorry but theres nothing that I can do theres no more rooms, so I assume that she didnt care about the customers specialty the little kids sorry for this comment but that was a really bad experience for me and all my family.”

  • The hotel clerk was the only employee that was helpful.
  • Everything else. Seriously. My stay at this hotel was miserable.

“The floors were dirty. My child and I had to wear socks to keep our feet clean. The towels were stained, there was not enough hotel staff to accommodate our needs and we were told so. The pool is not across the street from the hotel - it is nonexistent. The Beds were old and I could feel the springs in my back. We couldn't plug the hairdryer and a curling iron. Parking for the night was overpriced as we had to park across the street.”

  • Staff was very friendly.
  • It was loud in that area and only one restaurant close by.

“The price and location were okay. Staff was helpful. There were few amenities and there was no place close to get a drink after 9:00 pm.”

  • Convenient location, decent price.
  • Promised late checkout then didn't honor it.

“Upon an early arrival we asked if we could check in before the check in time. We were told yes and the room would be ready in 10 mins. 15 mins later it still wasn't ready and were told it would be anther 20 mins. After waiting a total of a hour and a half our room was finally ready. Our parking was at that time compt for our patience. We also asked at check in if it was possible to get a late check out, the clerk said yes and we could check out at 2 pm the next day. This was perfect for us because of a wedding we had at 4 pm. The next morning as we were going to breakfast I decided to double check and make sure it was still ok for our late check out. The clerk who was there that day said no we could not possibly check out at 2 and that they never have late check outs and if they did it would be a half of days charge. so, I was a bit taken back by this and had to quickly readjust our plans. It was a great inconvenience but we made it work. I don't think I would stay at this hotel again because of the lack of communication.”

  • The staff was very friendly and courteous.
  • Parking was absolutely horrible. Paid $14 a day for parking and sometimes had to park across the street at a different hotel.

“This was an ok place to stay, definitely for those who are budget conscience. No frills and a place to sleep basically.”

  • Convenient and hotel was comfortable.
  • My room did not get cleaned 4 of my 5 night stay and the tub did not drain well.

“Great location to Downtown San Diego, room was comfortable and pretty clean. It was a great place for the money. I never felt unsafe or had any trouble. I would definitely recommend if you are wanting a place that is economical and in a location to Downtown that you can walk to a lot of things.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[7]

  • The room was clean.
  • Parking cost $14 a day and was very limited, no pool.

“The rooms were very clean; the staff was friendly and helpful. There was not a pool or any areas for the kids to play. Continental breakfast consisted of a variety of breads, waffles, apples, oranges, juice and coffee. Parking cost was extra and more expensive than 4 star hotels in the area. The parking was very limited.”
