  • With the priceline price an excellent value.

“I traveled over 25 years in my job and think this is the best value of any hotel. They did a beutiful job with the remodel. My wife loved this hotel.”

  • Beautiful location, friendly staff, clean room.
  • Filthy public areas, expensive parking, cloudy water in swimming pool.

“Beautiful location, very nice staff. The outdoor public places and the pool area needs a good cleaning. The room we stayed in was beautiful and clean but the public areas, especially the terrace floor where they serve food was absolutely filthy. They need to power wash the floor and clean the cushions.”

  • It was comfortable, quiet , clean, and friendly.

“They did charge $22.00 per night for parking. We parked down the street, maybe a half block away. I appreciated the warning from Priceliners before me. The Hotel was great!”

  • The view from our room was incredible; had nice walking paths

“Only stayed one night here. Would like to go back and spend more time to take advantage of all the hotel amenities. Loved this place!”

  • The rooms are updated and clean.
  • The overall cleanliness spaces outdated.

“This is a nice hotel that needs to be cleaned up a little and updated in the public spaces. The rooms are nicely appointed. The service was very good. The hotel is in a beautiful location.”

  • Location on the bay. Great view of downtown San Diego skyline and the bridge.
  • Paying $22/day for parking on hotel grounds, even with a handicapped placard!

“Great hotel, except for the parking fees. Their hotel directory needs updating. They state they have two restaurants (one lower priced than the other) but this is not so. There is but one restaurant (the higher priced one).”

  • We liked our room. They upgraded our room free.
  • Pool was too cold. Some plants not maintained dying.

“Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It looked like the outside of the hotel could use a little TLC. The staff was amazing! They were so courteous!”

  • Marriott upgraded us to a Villa - very nice!

“Ground are quiet, which we appreciate. The hotel is in a quiet part of Coronado with an excellent view of downtown San Diego. The staff is very pleasant.”

  • The grounds were beautiful so the view from the room was very relaxing.

“The hotel grounds were beautiful complete with lots of tropical trees and water features and even an aviary; plenty of parking and multiple options for swimming, tennis, gym, spa and sauna's. The room was large, clean and comfortable.”

  • Location, friendly staff.
  • Room was a tad musty.

“Very pleasant. Marriotts are pretty solid. This location is a great one. Very near the boardwalk.”

  • The decor was really cool.
  • Parking is very pricey.

“We really enjoyed being away from all the city noise, walking along the waterfront and the resort atmosphere is very relaxing. Access to the city is OK, it could be confusing on a weekday morning though.

  • Far from beach & town.

“Do not be mislead by the resort in this hotel's title. There is no way that this is a resort - there is no beach - that is across town (get in your car and find and pay for parking). But the Marriott is priced like a resort, without any resort amenities. I stayed at 3 different hotels in San Diego on my stay, and this was by far the worst value. Tennis courts, birds in cages, couches in hallways and high priced facials I guess. The Marriott has been located on an old Navy housing area on the bay, over a mile to the beach. Large sewage pipes dump Coronado's street runoff and other waste into Marriott's waterfront. As a local said, the water is not swim able here, but they don't like to let the tourists know that. The pool was average, crowded and cloudy - not much else to do here. Check-in is a late 4 pm. If you would like to get into the room an hour or two early, you can upgrade for $40 plus taxes and fees for a bay view. Cleaning staff could not have the regularly priced rooms ready till after 4, and I was chastised for arriving early. Maybe 1/3 of the bay view rooms may have nice San Diego views, the rest look over the non descript bridge and ship building waterfront. Save the $20/day and park on the street - it's empty. Internet access is only free for your first afternoon, after midnight, you have to pay. There's a resort ferry for $12/person that will take you to the San Diego Marriott - a nice idea, but last return is 7 pm so forget going out for dinner - again get in your car and find and pay for parking. The room is clean and large but lacks simple things like a refrigerator or fan in the bathroom. The toiletries are tiny, nothing special, and include only shampoo, conditioner and lotion and this is a spa. Bring your own supplies because you have to pay resort prices for bottled non refrigerated water and snacks, and there's no store within walking distance, only the sleepy Ferry's Landing (you're on the far side of town) without sit down breakfast. (Though the Italian restaurant has a nice little morning bakery and great espresso). Breakfast is good, but it should be at $20/person, with wait staff that does not smile. Only the hotel cleaning staff offered a smile during my entire stay. Marriott must not pay their workers very well, but they are trained to get the most dollars out of you. Be prepared to get nickel and dime for everything, even after paying top dollar - and you'll start looking grumpy like the staff and other guests. They had no basement rooms to put me in. San Diego is a great city to visit with lots of interesting hotels, Coronado is a very nice town, close to the city with beautiful beaches.”

  • The location is really something, great views of San path just outside your door that leads around the island.
  • The room was not as clean as expected. I saw hair in the shower and surrounding bathroom floor.

“Great place to stay, near everything San Diego has to offer. You really never have to leave the island, everything you need like great beaches, food and walks are within a few minutes away. The hotel is really wonderful at night with the lights around the property and the city lights in the background. The pool was very nice and the water was warm enough to get in and not be chilled by the bay breezes.”

  • Location.
  • The bathroom was unacceptable. There was mold in the shower and my children refused to use it. I took a photo of it if you would like to see it.

“The location was excellent; the amenities for children were a little lacking. The rooms were large but my room has a sub-standard bathroom. The shower had mold and clearly needed recalling.”
