  • Good room for the money.
  • Building was not secure, door to outside did not close.

“Room quality was in line with the price
I paid to stay there. Safety was an issue because the door that lead to outside the building had a lock but did not close shut. I found it open on a few occasions.”

  • WiFi access.
  • Smelled a little funny.

“Good value for the price, especially if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep. Nice location to Embarcadero, a little ways from convention center but I walked it most days.”

  • Friendly staff.

“Quaint - right next to Little Italy and walking distance for everything downtown.”

  • Nothing.
  • No continental breakfast.

“This hotel was horrible. The worst I've ever stayed at. Dirty, unsafe as the door to the outside didn't lock, if we hadn't come in at 11 p.m., I wouldn't have stayed there. They made some excuse about the donut truck getting into an accident as to why they didn't have continental breakfast.”

  • It was worth what it cost.
  • Refrigerator did not work.

“In downtown san Diego, clean, small room. Nice staff up front. Close to drug stores and restaurants.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • The Staffs were so friendly and the location was too good. I enjoyed the stay.
  • I have no complaints.

“This hotel is a best in the crowded and expensive San Diego City. When, I compare with my friends who stayed in the famous hotel opposite to the airport. they didn't even get a break fast for the two times expensive hotel than mine, my hotel had a plasma television which was really a surprise for me. Altogether its a good safe place to stay. I enjoyed a lot.”

  • Very nice bed and TV.
  • The room was extremely small, no floor space to move around.

“This hotel had very nice furniture, but the room was way too small even for two people to share. No closet, it just was not what I needed.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • The staff was very kind; the room was clean; the location was very good ( close to airport).
  • The room wasn't particularly attractive; dark and not welcoming.

“The location is excellent and the room was acceptable, considering the modest fee. The night staff was efficient and kindly. If one needs a place to stay near the airport and requires only a clean space in which to spend the night, then this hotel certainly serves this purpose. Only problem is that the noise from the street is a distraction, especially for those staying in ground floor accommodations.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[3] • Location:[5]

  • Free parking, wireless internet which actually worked.
  • Dirty, slovenly, poorly kept, down-at-heel, poor value.

“Probably the most down-at-heel and poorly maintained hotel I have stayed in over the past 15 years, worse than even low-grade motels in poor neighborhoods. The facilities are ultra basic. The room is adequate and functional for sleeping and the bathroom works (with paper-thin towels and shampoo in little sealed packets that I couldn't open) but this is not a hotel that any business traveler could feel comfortable in.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[1] • Location:[4]

  • Nothing.
  • Over rated by star level.

“There was no art on the walls, barely any room to walk through the room, no door knob on the bathroom door, not even a bible. The only window into this room was green with mold and the wood was rotting. Upon check in the parking lot (or 10 spaces) was cluttered with no where to go. An extreme lack of parking or direction from where to go from. My advice to you is to check out this location.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[7]

  • Extremely cheap, functional, in an area with a lot of things, nice staff.
  • Well, it's right next to the freeway.

“At practically nothing per night I was able to stay in the Little Italy area which had restaurants, nightlife, stores, etc. My room was on the side facing I-5 so I got some ambient car noise, but other than that it was quiet and suitable. Would definitely recommend for business travelers -- the proximity to I-5 is non-ideal from an ambience standpoint but in terms of being able to get around the city it makes it a very convenient point of departure. As a place to sleep and shower it worked just fine, which is all I expected it to be?”

“When I arrived to the office they told me that they don't have the reservation and I gave them copy of it. Also they were upgrading the building, they were doing a lot of noise until they finished (8:24 PM). Was my first time in this hotel.”

  • The location.

“It was the worst hotel that Ive ever stayed at. The building was very old, but not kept up very nicely. The manager lady called my room at 9am and demanded payment for extra services. The rollaway bed and the sofa bed were the most uncomfortable Ive ever lain on.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[1] • Location:[5]

  • Location, but this is irrelevant because of the poor quality of the room.
  • Absolutely filthy.

“The hotel was under construction during our stay, and our room was not completed, paint cans and equipment were placed by the intake for the air conditioner, and the hotel was filthy. Loud noises and suspicious activity all through the night. Absolutely horrible.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • The family running the hotel was friendly and helpful. Free parking!
  • Not all the rooms had closets or even a rack to hang your clothes.

“It was undergoing extensive construction when we came. The lobby is extremely small with no place to sit. However, the rooms were clean and seemed to have new furnishings.”

Staff:[1] • Location:[8]

  • The location only!
  • Dirty room and no one came to clean it for my stay.

“Not a good experience at all. You should drop them as a provider.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[1] • Location:[5]

  • Nothing.
  • There were bed bugs. It was unsanitary and run down.

“This was far and away the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and, hopefully, ever will stay at. There were bedbugs in my bed, which I did not notice until morning. I was bitten numerous times. The toilets clogged up any time you used toilet paper. The staff (which consists of one lady who is there 24/7) was unaccommodating and unprofessional. They gave us a parking pass, but when we arrived back at the hotel later that night the lot was full so we had to park on the street. Overall the experience was horrible. I am not exaggerating this. I am a recent college grad who is used to living the simple, inexpensive life. I'm not some rich, overly sensitive snob. There should be some type of way I can get my money back. That's how bad it was. I am frustrated at the fact that that won't happen. But I guess that's life. I'm extremely unsatisfied; however. They come in expecting to be able to switch to 2 rooms and end up paying extra out of their own pocket. I had to pay $40 extra per room. Based on what she said, and what I've heard from others as well, I'm not the only one who makes the false assumption about switching rooms without a fee. It may be in the fine print, but it's deceiving nonetheless. Something needs to be done to better warn your customers, if customer satisfaction is something you are truly concerned with.”

  • The hotel was close to many restaurants.
  • The hallways had a bad odor and were un-inviting.

“I would rate the staff as adequate. The room we stayed in on the 2nd floor was clean and appeared to be in the process of some upgrades. But if the upgrades were complete, then the owners need to take another look. I think for the hotel being in a decent area, even though it is an older hotel, a lot could be done to make it a nice place to stay. I wouldn't recommend it, but if someone stays without knowing much about the hotel like me, it was adequate and clean other than that hallway smell.”
