• Staff was great. Room had very qualities, such as, furniture and bathroom.
• My ice bucket was dirty, but they exchanged it promptly.

“Woodfin Suites in La Jolla is a very nice place to stay while visiting San Diego. Staff is very friendly and always helpful. The facility is clean and has a safe feeling. I would recommend the Woodfin Suites to family and friends.”

• I was pleased with the cleanliness of the hotel and room.
• I arrived later than the check-in time and tried to check-out later but was not able to.

“The hotel and room were great but my family and I weren't there long enough to enjoy everything they offered as we arrived later in the night to check-in. We did get to enjoy the pool facility and it was wonderful. We plan to go again and be there sooner to enjoy all it has to offer. It was a great place to stay!”

• It was cheap and available.

“The hotel was nice overall, but the furnishings and condition of the room was not up to par. The hotel needs to be refurbished, the restaurant needs better quality food and the staff needs to be better trained.”

• Rooms were 1 bedroom suites, living room and kitchen.
• Nothing.

“This is a real find. Paid about 1/2 of what I would have paid the at the embassy suites. The only difference is that at ES, the breakfast is free but without question this is the better buy.”

• The suites are excellent awesome hotel great room presentation.
• Bring your own pillows but the king bed rocks.

“My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Woodfin so much we always bring our own pillows [which was a good thing] but the bed was so comfortable [worth the money alone] the room had a eat in kitchen and living room even a dishwasher they will shop for you at no extra charge I will stay there again without even looking for something else.”

• No bell hop to help with bags to room.

• Staff was very friendly.
• I received a noise complaint before 9 o'clock for having the TV too loud.

“I would definitely return to this hotel. Staff was friendly, services were great. Though we had to stay very quiet and turned TV down very low so others could sleep at 8:30 p.m.”

• A little bit out of the way, but reasonable for location.

• Beds are comfortable.
• Pillows were dreadful, happy hour meals as advertised were not available.

“Although the facilities of this hotel were generally excellent, it was let down by a few puzzling experiences, including the dreadful pillows when the beds were great, that the advertised happy hour meals (half price appetizers between certain hours) had recently been discontinued but still advertised in our room, so that was quite disappointing and the internet access; Wifi available only in the lobby of the hotel, it did not reach our room on the 3rd floor. Network access via cable was available, but not free of charge (.). This meant that we had to take our laptop down to the lobby every time we wanted to check emails. This is pretty crappy service. Also, one of the child's meals provided was different to the description in menu (served with fries instead of fruit salad), which was corrected when advised, but seemed just a little odd. The staff was certainly friendly, but the location as advertised (la Jolla) was clearly wrong, it was quite a way away from there.”

• I enjoyed the fireplace area in the lobby, shopping option, fruit at the front desk.
• I have nothing to report.

“As you enter the hotel you have the option of sitting in a cozy room by the fire or going into their "office" area where there is office equipment such as a copier, fax, and computer available to guests. There is a shopping list left in the rooms in the event you would like someone to do some personal grocery shopping for you while you are out, this is a free service. The staff is very friendly; the rooms are spacious and very clean and comfortable.”

• The hotel was relatively easy to find and the lobby was impressive.
• The room was very outdated and drab. I was expecting more.

“The Woodfin is in a convenient location near many shopping and dining facilities. The room did not meet my expectations. They definitely need to upgrade the interior. The room was very drab and depressing. The hotel staff were all very young (18-25) and not very knowledgeable at all about the hotel and the surrounding attractions. They were also very slow with check-in procedures.”

• Housekeeping did not restock essentials, coffee, shampoo.

“The hotel was very nice and I would stay there again. Other members of the wedding party I was involved with stayed at a near by hotel, paying more for their room than I did for mine. My room was far and above what they were getting for more money. I was very pleased with that. I was not pleased however with the housekeeping, Items I used the first morning were not replaced and it seemed that since I was staying more than 1 night, they did not need to make the room look as nice when they were done cleaning it after the 1st night.”

“The hotel is located in a business district, so it's far from food and amusement. However, it is very quiet. My suite was very clean, bathroom spotless. So much room, it could be a comfortable apartment. The kitchen had dishes and silverware, enough for two. We could rent DVD's to watch in our room, as there was a DVD player. Not the most expensive, but definitely the best place I've had for a night.”
