• Staff went out of their way to answer questions and give directions, food recommendations.
• We were bitten by bed bugs.

“The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff saved this from being a truly bad experience. If not for them, I would have rated it much lower. The Internet went back and from being extremely slow to not working at all. We asked for assistance, and the person who came out to check the router said it was because our computer did not work (which was definitely not the case) and couldn't fix it; the room was small, with a handicap shower that ran water all over the bathroom floor and we were kept up by bed bugs at night and by morning we were both bitten pretty badly.”

• Awesome continental breakfast.
• No shuttle service.

“The staff was very helpful, but the hotel is in need of an update. The phone did not work and the lights kept flickering on and off. The bathroom floor was sticky and unclean. Was disappointed as there was no shuttle service, cab fare became very costly.”

• Nice bathroom, comfy beds and a nice pool area.
• Lack of transportation options in no car.

“The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy. The bathroom is big but the shower head wasn't made for tall people. The pool area is great unfortunately the hot tub was down for 2 days while we were there. You need a car from this location as there is only one bus you can catch and it only comes once an hour.”

• Noisy, crowded, horrible breakfast buffet.

“One of our worst hotel stays ever! Room the size of a hampster cage. Need to run the A.C. 24/7 just to keep the room comfortable. Walls paper thin - don't plan on sleeping in during the weekend. Deluxe breakfast buffet was a cattle call - not enough seating for guests, crowded, dirty, only fresh fruit was apples and bruised oranges, sugary cereals and a selection of carbs. Not enough parking. Carpet was worn.”

• We liked the fact that the room was not run down but new and clean.
• We thought there should have been a better fresh fruit selection with breakfast.

“This was our first vacation as a family. Our son is 16 months old so we took him to Sea World and the Zoo for the first time. We had a great time. The hotel was very comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly. The hotel is very kid and family friendly. I have already recommended this hotel to a friend at work. I work at the National Headquarters for Toyota USA so I know a lot of people.”

• Free internet, nice size, clean pool, BBQ area, hot tub, breakfast.
• There was not a hotel shuttle service.

“This hotel is nice and clean and perfect for families visiting San Diego and the surrounding parks. Also pretty close to Hillcrest and its ever so picturesque friendly folk!”

• Staff was friendly and accommodating.
• Thin walls, no elevators, cramped room.

“The accommodations are fine if traveling alone for a short stay. The walls are thin, so expect to hear your neighbors conversations and vice versa. The sound of other room's plumbing is also audible. Because the hotel rooms are not enclosed indoors, safety may be an issue.”

• Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast (Waffles). Close to Old Town San Diego lots of restaurant choices near by.
• No complaints, all in all an excellent hotel for the money.

“The hotel was easy to find with easy access to the 8 and 5 freeways. Less than 1 mile from dozens of restaurants in Old Town San Diego. The staff was friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast was excellent, fresh fruit, cereal cold and hot and they have a waffle making station to make fresh waffles. A great hotel for the business man or family seeing the sites of San Diego.”

“This hotel was pleasant; all of the workers were very nice and courteous. The pool area was really nice and the pool was heated. Enjoyed the landscape, especially around the pool area.”

• The maid walked in while I was in the shower thinking that the room was empty.

“I wanted to extend my stay and it was not possible. My room did not have a fridge and since my wife was pregnant the only room in first level was handicap room.”
