  • Clean.
  • My car was broken into inside a secured, underground garage. They had cameras also and they could not and would not help in any way.

“I would never stay here again! I was traveling alone over the Thanksgiving holiday and my car was broken into in their secured garage. You could only get in and out of the garage with a room key and in and out of the elevator with a key. When I approached the front desk to let them know of the breaking, the guy at the front counter acted as though it was my fault. He should be fired for the condescending attitude he exhibited in front of the manager! She asked him to be quiet after being so rude. The on-duty manager offered no help at all. I asked they look at the cameras for the previous evening, the cameras unfortunately do not work unless there is significant motion to detect and come on. The camera only went on when a car pulled up to the gate and really nothing else. The camera went on when I pulled into the garage but did not stay on even long enough to show me getting out of my car and did not detect the motion when I was moving from my car to the elevator. The cameras showed people coming and going but as they moved through the garage the cameras did not detect the motion so nothing came on to follow them through the area. what a waste!
With all my travels, I am really disappointed the Marriott would not have proper security.”

  • Staff mainly security.

“It was the worst stay in my life and other words I would never stay there again.”

  • Overall, I thought it was a very nice hotel. The room was what I would have expected for a 3-star.
  • The hotel is right next to the freeway and my room was on that side. Both the freeway noise and the air conditioner kept me awake. I did not sleep.

“The hotel is definitely a 3 star, but if you stay here be sure to not get a room that is on the freeway side. Big mistake. There is no escaping the freeway noise.”

  • Got a great bid price on Priceline! Great value for the money!
  • Although a non-smoking hotel, the odor of smoke was on our floor, but not our room.

“We were very pleased with this hotel. Especially with the excellent price we paid by bidding on Priceline. The common areas and our room were very clean and well supplied. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The pool was a little small, but still had plenty of room to cool off and play. The pizza from room service was great and the breakfast buffet was nicely priced with plenty of options. Computers were available in the lobby for checking email or the Internet. They even had a free black and white printer available.”

  • The location and the handicap accommodations.
  • The bed and pillows gave me a neck ache.

“The hotel was clean and staff was friendly and accommodating. They have a cute Koi fish pond and provided my children with food to feed them. The room was clean and stocked with a mini fridge and had a balcony with a table to eat breakfast at. Don't expect a continental breakfast here though. You must provide your own. The only complaint I have is that the bed is extremely uncomfortable due to a hard mattress and too soft pillows. Due to that fact I probably wouldn't stay here again.”

  • Friendly staff, helpful.
  • Small rooms, swimming pool and
    old decor.

“Rooms were small, bathroom was even smaller. overall the place looked quite ordinary. There was a big LCD TV in the room, though. The swimming pool was so tiny. The staff was very friendly, they provided us with a microwave for our infant.”

  • I liked the accommodations and friendly service. They served wine and cheese around the time we checked in it was a nice experience.
  • I did not find the bed very comfortable!

“I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was nicely set up, they have a big lobby with all you would need to be comfortable weather you are on your own or with others. They have a gym, and other services available. It was located in walking distance to other restaurants, and resorts. I had a good stay with my Husband.”

  • Great location for sightseeing in San Diego.
  • Noise from freeway.

“Excellent location, the hotel is just a few minutes from the Zoo, Sea World, Old Town, Waterfront, Maritime Museum. Try for a room away from the freeway side. Room very comfortable, clean and otherwise quite. Staff very friendly.”

  • Close to light rail.
  • Room cleanings way too early (prior to 9am).

“The hotel is very clean, and the staff is very professional in general. I had two disappointments. 5:00pm shuttle to the airport I scheduled in the morning was 25 minute late departing, and room cleaning was inappropriately early (prior to 9am in some cases despite checkout at 12pm. The restaurant is limited, but functional in a pinch. In room clothing/item storage is minimal but both wireless and LAN/Ethernet internet are provided for free. The bathroom was split, but the shower was excellent. The pool/whirlpool area is smallish and outdoors, but nice. Elevators are the only real vertical transport option and they can be exceedingly slow.”

  • It was walking distance to Old Town San Diego.
  • If you have a visitor there is no parking.

“It was very confined but met my purposes for the weekend. My room was very comfortable, I was 1 block to all Old Town Restaurants and shopping.”

    were open till late.

  • The room and hotel ambiance was very nice.
  • The additional $12.50 for parking!

“A fine hotel, except for the costly parking.”

  • Very clean.
  • The traffic noise was terrible. I could not sleep at night due to the noise.

“Everything was fine about the hotel except for the traffic noise. It was so loud that my daughter and I could not sleep at night. We had to turn up the volume on the TV in order to hear it because of the traffic noise. I wish I had one of the interior rooms away from the freeway.”

  • Marriott Courtyards are always very enjoyable hotels. This one is beautiful.
  • There was no thermostat in the room, so temp was not stable.

“As I said Marriott Courtyards are most always very good. This site was very lovely!”

  • Clean room & nice TV.
  • Only one elevator available during remodeling.

“The room was
facing the freeway the first night and it was quite noisy, however the noise got somewhat covered by the white noise from the fan (always on) of the AC unit. The staff was very helpful in getting a different room facing the quiet side of the building and the new room is only a few steps away from the noisy room.”

  • The bed was so comfortable. The decor was modern.
  • Not applicable.

“I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. Very modern design to the room and attractive hotel all together.”

  • I really like the staff, very nice and helpful.
  • No free parking, room a bit too cluttered.

“I really enjoyed my stay. I found the hotel to be well located, even though it wasn't in the areas I spent the most time in. I think the staff was supper nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It is a no frills sort of place, but its perfect as a place to crash every night for a reasonable cost.

  • Location is walking distance to shops and good food.
  • Parking - $15/day for hotel guests on top of your room rate.

“This is a nice hotel to bring your family for a little trip to Old Town. They have a pool, restaurant and the staff is very friendly. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but the rooms seemed to be recently updated (carpet, flat screen TV, etc.) With the exception of the additional charge for parking, $15 a day or find parking on the street (which can be very hard in the summer), I would stay again.”

  • Walking distance to old town, safe neighborhood.
  • Parking in hotel garage is $15 per night.

“Loved it! If I didn't have a van full of equipment I would have parked on the street, which is pretty safe, but had to park in the garage and pay extra. Beautiful place, great location and super friendly staff!
