  • Nothing!
  • Everything from the minute we walked in to check in.

“Customer service was rude - said we were not happy with not being notified the name change of place - they said we could go somewhere else however they would still charge us!”

  • Location.
  • Staff was extremely unaccommodating, computers did not work.

“The staff was not accomodating when loud people checked-in at 1am above me. Was awake until 4:30 am and they advised there was nothing they could do about the noise. Had to basically beg to be moved to the top floor after the first night.”

“The hot water shot out dirt and was brown, when telling the front desk, they told us maintenance would be sent but never was. We had to call 3 times and nothing was done about it.”

  • Close to the beach.
  • Not enough parking.

“This was a very comfortable hotel. The location was very close to attractions and the beach. Was not to impressed with the parking. I also recommend that a complementary continental breakfast should be offered. I did not go to the hotel restaurant because it was a little to pricey for my family. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.”

  • Easy access to freeways.
  • The room needs renovating/ things were old and really really looked used.

“The beds are horrible for another you can stay in a 4 star hotel but this one was horrible, things looked really used and made me regret not spending the extra bucks for a much better place with another hotel company. I have stayed in the Holiday inn Express and that was ten times better than this place.”

  • The location to restaurants and businesses.
  • Upkeep on exterior could improve.

“Overall for the price it was okay. The beds a little hard, but room was clean and we got extra towels we needed.”

  • Vicinity, close to restaurants,, shops and cruise terminal.

“Liked the room and bedding. A refrigerator and free Internet in the room would have been preferred. I did not receive my wake-up call. Would stay there again.”

  • Location.
  • Bed was hard.

“The hotel was fine. The ironing board in the room I was in did not stand up, and the television was on the verge of going out.”

  • Close to Sea World.
  • Suppose to be non-smoking, but not. Service was not good. Rooms had outside entrances. Was not a 2.5 star hotel.

“Staff did not look professional and not very helpful. We never received the pillows we requested. We had to go down and get them ourselves (which was a long walk to the lobby). We were there for 3 days and they never fixed the internet problem in the lobby. Staff gave us wrong information that affected our time at Sea World. We requested non- smoking because I have asthma, but the room reeked of smoke. Parking spaces were very small. 2.5 star hotels should not have outside room entrances.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[1] • Location:[8]

  • Driveways to both parallel streets, restaurants nearby.
  • Dirty, unfriendly staff, cheap and cheesy.

“Stinky stairwells, hairs in the bed, dripping fire sprinkler, they forced us to move rooms halfway through our stay- and we discovered that not all the rooms are the same, one had separate rooms and a microwave and fridge, and the other was a typical small one room hotel room. Don't stay here!”

  • Room had nice ambience.
  • TV did not work well; remote did not work (fixed).

“Location convenient to highway, Sea World. Neighborhood was dicey (e.g., homeless people walking through grounds). Would not have stayed there if I knew more about the neighborhood.”

  • Location.
  • Paying for parking and internet.

“I do not like paying $15 for parking or $10 for wireless internet which are provided free in most hotels.”

  • The lobby was pretty.
  • Extremely small, noisy rooms are not really comfortable for a family and not worth $.

“We asked for one of the kid suites since we were traveling with our two small children. We have stayed in similarly appointed rooms at other resorts in Anaheim, and Orlando - the bunk beds and separate sleeping spaces for kids and grown ups are appealing perks. The room was so small, that the double doors separating the living spaces could not even open and close - the beds were in the way. There were bunk beds and two TV's, but they were essentially in the same room - you definitely could not have watched two different shows. There was a little table for the kids, but absolutely no table space for adults! Besides the cramped quarters, the walls were paper thin. We could hear all of the noise from the rooms upstairs and on either side of us. Since we had small kids (5 and 1 1/2), we had a nearly impossible time at bedtime. The window curtains on the front windows do not close all the way (only the sheer curtain that obscures the view into the room), so the headlights of cars parking in the parking spaces outside our room shined right in. Our bathtub drain did not work and was plugged up with a disgusting wad of long, black hair. Although a repairman was sent promptly, he was not able to fix it. We had to plug the drain with a washcloth and keep the water running in order to give our kids, who had been at the zoo all day, a bath. Overall, this was more of a Motel 6 kind of experience.”

  • Very conveniently located and close to everything! Food, supermarket, theme parks, downtown, etc. Staff was ok and facilities were good enough!
  • Parking was a little too small, and the area is big, so make sure to find rooms close to the lobby.

“The staff here isn't so bad. If you talk to them nicely, they respond nicely too. We initially requested for a refrigerator in the room to keep our water and other drinks for our theme park visits cold. They didn't have room available right away, but was very accommodating to us and got us a better room shortly after. It also helps to plan ahead, we went on a Thursday afternoon, so our options were better, compared to if we got there on a weekend-- with the labor day weekend coming up, they probably wouldn't be given the option to change to a better room. The location is superb. A bit confusing if you don't have a gps, but its like 10 minutes (the most) to most destination (except for San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park). I had a very pleasant stay, and I will recommend it.”

  • The front desk service was excellent.
  • The area didn't feel so safe.

“The hotel was very clean and surrounded by tons of restaurants. I continued to have internet issues the whole time I was there. I was on business and the last thing I want to do is go to the lobby to work.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Great location and friendly staff.
  • Very cramped room, too firm bed, poor temperature control and noisy at times. Parking was quite tight.

“This place had a perfect location for us, so no issue there. Our room had a king bed in rear part of the room and a sleeper sofa on the other side of a glass sliding door. That sliding door has sheer curtains, so privacy was poor. The air conditioning wall unit was in the front (sofa ) half of the room. It was had to keep the section with the bed cool since the wall blocked the air flow. The bed was rather hard, and the pillows were not too good. Staff was very nice and helpful.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • They up graded us for the 2nd two nights for no extra charge.
  • It was very busy and the first night we only had one bed for 4 of us.

“I have stayed here before - its great for families - the restaurant is great and provides free meals for the younger kids- the pool is nice and the suite was wonderful.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • The location was close to Sea World and Mission Beach.
  • The bathroom was small.

“If you're looking for a clean, safe place to rest your head after a long day at Sea World, this is your hotel. We checked in after dark and left right at breakfast the next morning, so I didn't see much of the grounds, but the room was cozy. The bathroom was small, but it accommodated our family of five just fine.”
