“We were delighted with the location and view from the hotel, even our room without an ocean view still had a partial ocean view and all we had to do was walk right outside our patio to see more. I was unimpressed with the staff friendliness and the quality of the room. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid regular price. For the Priceline price, I was happy. Had we stayed longer, we might have enjoyed the facilities, but since we only stayed one night, our hotel experience was very limited. I would stay there again for a low price and be happy, but not for anywhere near regular price.”

“Great place if you like being by the water and watching the boats & ships etc. A long pathway to walk on right by the water. We had a great view of the boats, swimming pool and beautiful flowers and green trees. It was great!”

“I was disappointed with the quality of the room. TV's need to be upgraded. Just a hum-drum room.”

“This hotel was very nice. The room was spacious and clean. I loved all the windows. I could sit on the balcony and see the beautiful boats and pool. I enjoyed being able to park so close to my building. The location was convenient to where I was visiting. The food was delicious. It felt safe.”

“Need a car for this beautiful location which is close to the airport yet very quiet. Surrounded by a marina on one side and San Diego Harbor on the other, this property exceeded our expectations. The pool and hot tub area are particularly lovely. Food options are limited in the area, but a short drive takes you to many options.”

“The hotel was very clean, the view was awesome and it wouldn't matter what side you stayed on it has views from either side. Very easy to get to. We chose not to pay the extra to park in the parking lot so we parked on the street, we felt secure in doing so.”

“This hotel might be fine for a vacation traveler, just looking for a place to rest his or her head, not worried about out of pocket expenses. For a business traveler it is less than ideal. The shuttle driver, was the one single highlight of my experience with the hotel staff. He gets 5 stars, the hotel just 1.”

“Family friendly and business traveler friendly hotel with clean rooms and lovely exterior marina and floral surroundings. Close to restaurants and Sea World and Old Town. Great employees who don't mind helping and very friendly parking staff and bellmen. The grounds are clean, very pretty and safe for female travelers.”

“We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was nice and quiet but in walking distance of other hotels and restaurants. The pool and marina were beautiful. The staff was very friendly. Great food. The food was over priced but I guess all hotel food is over priced.”

“This hotel is a nice place. Shelter Island is beautiful and the pool and marina are too. The hotel does nickel and dime you like crazy. Parking is $15 a night and the fitness room is $10 each time you want to use it. The food & drinks are way over priced. Be careful not to utilize the cocktail waitress at the pool because then the security guard will come over and tell you, you aren't allowed to eat or drink by the pool even though there is service and she didn't mention this! Plus he made me prove I was a guest at the hotel. All of that left a sour taste in my mouth.”

“The hotel was a good value fro San Diego, but not so much when adding all of the fees, for example up to $50 to park. I would understand such a fee in Manhattan, but not San Diego (hotel was not even Downtown).”

“The hotel had great location on Shelter island away from all the business of Mission Beach and Downtown. Harbor view was great from our room. Romantic walk at night down shelter island park. Staff was very friendly.”

“Pretty decent hotel for the price. Staff was nice; room was always clean; common areas were clean; pool and hot tub; working fridge in room; great location for being near Sea World and the water. Great views of the bay. I would go back.”

“Need to get rid or the $15 per day parking fee. Needed to drive to our room on the far end. But the views are great and room, while old and somewhat dated, had the charm of an old beach resort. Shelter Point is a treasure from the past.”

“Very poor service, registration desk had only two employees working the desk and it took too much time to check in. Check out was worse. Check out at 11:00 A.M. with only one employee working at the desk. The lobby had ice tea available, the table was unsightly with tea available watered down with no ice. Services, ice machine, vending machines, etc. not convenient. ”
