Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was great.
  • Although we had a view of the harbor/bay, there was no balcony or chairs to sit on outside to enjoy the view. Older hotel, small rooms.

“Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel for the price and location. The staff was very friendly and made every attempt to accommodate our requests. The view of the harbor was nice but was difficult to enjoy without an outside balcony. The age of the hotel really showed, although the renovations helped somewhat to update it.”

  • Convenient, beautiful, and peaceful.
  • Saw several spiders in our room.

“Wonderful stay, would love to stay there again. Very kid-friendly. Beautiful landscaping.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • The location was amazing.
  • It was a little too simple.

“It was a nice-looking hotel from the outside, but the inside was kind of plain. The location was excellent because I was about 10 to 15 minutes away from all of San Diego's big attractions. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[5] • Location:[8]

  • Great for ocean and boat lovers, excellent location on the bay!
  • Dirty pools and no experienced staff at the reception.

“Good for family and very close to Sea World. Beautiful walks at night and direct access to the Marina and Public Park on Mission Bay. Rooms are nice and has AC, Fridge and Microwave which is a big plus on long vacations. No beach and pools are not as clean as they should be.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • Great location and easy access to SeaWorld.
  • The bugs in the room.

“The room was ok and the location was good. There were a few spiders and a centipede, but overall the room was clean. We went to Seaworld, rented a boat on the bay, and went for a walk. If I stayed here again I would get a room in the new section with a bay view - they looked great and the view was awesome.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[9]

  • Location was great for this trip, near Sea World.
  • 2 inch-long roach in room, no cold water in the tub.

“The hotel lobby and grounds were very clean and pleasant, but the same can't be said about the room. The room had a strong odor of mold and mildew, a two inch-long roach greeted me by the sink, and the shower had no cold water, only very hot and scalding. I can deal with very hot water in the shower, but the six year old that was with us had a tough time adjusting to the hot water. Although I would highly recommend the hotel over-all, I'd probably stay away from room # if possible. We checked in early but the room wasn't ready, so we walked to Sea World for the day. By the time we got back to the hotel ~9:30 pm, we were to exhausted from the day of fun in the sun to re-pack and move to another room, especially since we where only staying for the night.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[1] • Location:[10]

  • Location to San Diego attractions and beaches.
  • Standard rooms are small, smelly and poorly maintained.

“The hotel room was poor, dark smelly and small. It felt like the carpet was damp from a water leak. The tropical pool was not cleaned properly. Overall, the stay with small children was not pleasant.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[4] • Location:[7]

  • Free WiFi, nice plasma TV, good coffee.
  • Motel style, dragging suitcases up stairs, noisy.

“Nice, family oriented motel, style hotel right on the bay and next to Sea World.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[4] • Location:[8]

  • It is a decent two start hotel, not a 3 start upscale.
  • This is not a 3 start upscale.

“This is not a 3 star upscale hotel. It is more like a 2 or 3 star (without the upscale) Inn.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Excellent atmosphere and surroundings.
  • Rooms not totally clean, but decent.

“We would definitely recommend this hotel to others in the future. Kids loved playing in the courtyard, pool was nice. Overall thumbs up.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • It was close to the beach.
  • The hotel was beyond dated with outside entrances to the hotel rooms.

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! They have 2 separate areas, the part which was constructed in 2004 and the part which supposedly was renovated in 2004, but it's old. The rooms are terrible, with outside entrances. Also, they charge an additional $12.00 per day for parking which is never mentioned prior to your arrival.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[10]

  • Front lobby, entrance area and pools were very good.
  • The hotel rooms were upgrade motel rooms, outdoor access.

“I was impressed when I first arrived as they have gone to a great deal of expense to focus on the reception, front entrance area and conference facilities. The remainder of the area leaves less to be desired. The rooms are motel rooms, very cramped and no real security for a single female traveler. The gym has some good equipment but not maintained and very cramped into a tiny room. Very loud banging and general maintenance noise started early as of 7am, not happy when a person has 1 day to sleep in a bit. Great location, but accommodation needs a huge overhaul.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[7] • Location:[8]

  • Room could have been cleaner.

“We had a nice view of parking lots, both front and back. The staff was friendly and would have upgraded our room to a better location. I would not rate our room above one star. The location was convenient to Sea World.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • I liked the location. It had easy access to the Interstates.
  • The parking is like that of a motel. You park right in front of your room an yet they charge you $12.00 per day for parking!

“If this hotel had been located downtown where space is at a premium I wouldn't have expected any less than to have to pay to park for the night, but this hotel was just a large flat parking lot where you parked right in front of your room and you still had to pay to park.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[6] • Location:[6]

  • The food was delicious and reasonably priced.
  • The shuttle service was limited and difficult.

“This hotel, its rooms, and its views are beautiful. The staff on the other hand was not very helpful. Information was given when you asked, but not offered. Their shuttle service is the most economical means of transportation, however, we had to wait at the airport for 45 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up, even though I e-mailed ahead and requested it at a specific time. Also, the shuttle took us to the Zoo from the hotel, but when we called to have it pick us back up at 4:30pm, the receptionist stated their shuttle was not running anymore that night. The taxi cost $ 30.00 to return to the hotel. Beware!”

  • Setting was nice on Mission by. Staff was courious.
  • Needs some modernazation. Dried paint on bathroom floor. Parking gates did not operate with key card.

“Hotel was in a beautiful setting on Mission Bay. Staff was pleasant and caring. Rooms need updating and parking gates need replacing.”

“But the hotel charge me $12 parking. There are plenty parking space and I don't know why they charge for parking.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Great location with great Mission Bay view.
  • Several little things in the room didn't work i.e. hairdryer.

“The Dana appeared to be an older hotel, which has been nicely remodeled and maintained. Rooms are small and bathrooms tiny.”
