“Nickel and dimmed for parking. Location couldn't be better.”

  • Awesome location.
  • Should have had an option for continental breakfast.

“Very nice location. No problems checking in late or parking (though parking might be a problem if it is a peak travel season). Decently maintained rooms.”

  • Close to ocean, just yards away and great views.
  • Noisy & parking areas were loud until late in night-no available pool.

“Great location - right on the beach. But hotel was very noisy, we had to call security first night. No sound-proofing and we could hear partying above and below us, and noisy toddlers next door. We had smoke alarm go off one night and were woken up late another night by staff trying to bring linens. For 4 nights, we got only one night of decent rest. Staff deducted cost of parking in compensation, but the trip was still ruined. Also, pool was closed and hot tub was disgustingly dirty, and we really wanted to swim. It's great for families who expect to be loud, messy and want to get to the water quickly. Rooms were well cleaned. You can avoid parking fee by finding nearby parking if you search. Convenient to restaurants, stores and tourist locations & main roads. It seemed to be a college party area, and would probably be worse during spring and summer.”

  • Great location by the beach.
  • Parking was too crowded.

“The stay was pleasant. The only thing was the parking space. It was so crowded it was hard to get our things out of the car once we were parked. We had to back up the car to be able to get in.”

  • Very convenient! Right on the beach. Younger part of town.
  • Appeared much older from the outside!

“Don't let the outside of the building fool you- the inside is very nice, attractive, and comfortable. The parking spaces are small- recommend compact car only!”

  • Location: on the beach.

“Rooms were a good size for a family of four. I liked having a kitchenette in our room and I like the idea of having security at the pool & front door to hotel rooms so other people can't come in. Rooms were clean and the location was absolutely beautiful. We travel to San Diego quite often and will return to this hotel.”

  • All rooms had a view of the ocean.
  • The bed was a bit lumpy.

“The Best Western Blue Sea Lodge was so nice. Our room was small but, it looked bigger with a mirror wall on one side. I liked the way the rooms opened to the pool area. You walk right out the pool area and are right on the boardwalk to the ocean. It was a nice place to stay and central to everything in San Diego.”

  • I loved that it was right on the beach and boardwalk. Beautiful morning and evening views.
  • Elevator was broken, on third floor, no help with luggage.

“Very nice location. The hotel was nice, the pool and hot tub was nice and very warm. Right on the beach and the board walk. Awesome to sleep with balcony sliding door open to hear the ocean all night. I really liked the hotel and would stay there again but the elevator was broken for all five days that we were there and had to carry our own heavy luggage up all those stairs and then they wouldn't bring me a cot because it was a safety hazard.”
