• Location, easy to get around.
• Air conditioning units too loud and didn't work well. Each room was different in how to work unit.

• The staff was friendly and helpful.
• The hotel appearance was older than I expected.

“The room was clean and comfortable, but the rate I paid was too high for the quality. The bonus was a free shuttle to Legoland. The staff was friendly and helpful.”

• It was nicely furnished.
• Staff was rude, rooms not cleaned until after 4:00!

“This hotel is adjacent to Legoland, but you would not know by visiting. The whole place seems to try to forget that families with kids will be the target. Staff was rude to patrons and also to each other! That was embarrassing. The whole place was uptight, and stuffy, but for no reason. And far too expensive for what was offered. Legoland private entrance is a joke. It's longer walk from the hotel to Legoland, than it is to just park in the Leogland parking lot. Since you pay $12 a day to park, there really is no benefit either. The pool was nice though.”

• Convenient, clean nicely decorated.
• Vanity was tiny.

“Maid service was late in the day, I take my afternoon nap and would miss the maid. The vanity was hardly big enough for one of us, not near enough room for both my wife and I. That aside, we had a very nice experience and would go back.”

• Very comfortable beds, well appointed, nice staff.
• Expensive breakfast restaurant.

“Overall very nice, somewhat off the beaten path, but not hard to find or get to from the freeway. Quiet rooms with very comfortable beds. Nice pool - many rooms had balconies overlooking it. Good place to stay while in North San Diego County if you have kids, don't want to spend a fortune and like getting a good sleep while on vacation.”

• The staff were very friendly.
• The sink and counter area was very small.

“Overall the hotel was nice and we had a good experience. However, on one day we came back to our room in the mid afternoon and it had not been cleaned. We asked housekeeping to take care of it, but when we left and returned a few hours later it still was not cleaned. We then had to call the front desk and then we left again and when we came back it had been cleaned, but not as well as on other days. Other than that our experience was good.”

• Delicious breakfast, funny and helpful staff, clean room.
• It was a little hard to find.

“Carlsbad is a great city to stay in for some peace and quiet when you are going to San Diego. This hotel is a lot cheaper than SD hotels and you can go right down the street and ride the Coaster train into SD faster than it would take to drive. The hot breakfast was expensive ($11) but really good waffles, taters, biscuits, orange juice, eggs and meat for you carnivores. The room was clean and the AC worked great. My husband couldn't work the phone and they sent a guy up speedy quick to show fix the problem (turns out you have to press line 1 first--duh!). Basic cable channels, free wired internet in rooms and a computer with internet workstation free downstairs that you can even print from for free. The pool looked great, but I didn't get a chance to try it out. Highly recommend for a family on vacation, it's just blocks from Lego land!”

• The beds were comfortable.
• The bathroom door would not shut, small rooms, AC set on a schedule that freezes you out during the night.

“I was disappointed with the size and appearance of these rooms. I did not feel this was a 3 star hotel. The bathroom door would not shut or lock, there was no restaurant on site, nor within walking distance. The hotel was clean and if you don't mind driving, convenient to great outlets and the beach.”

• Friendly woman at the front desk & free internet! I liked the big bed and the AC. The TV worked and the wake up call was on time.
• The room was non smoking but smelled smoky. There was also a random peanut on the floor of the room.

“This hotel is great for a brief overnight stay and has free internet. I wouldn't want to stay here on vacation, but I was pretty much only there for one night and it was perfect for that. Never heard the neighbors even though I saw kids etc in the lobby. While not a luxurious nor glamorous hotel, I was definitely satisfied.”
