“I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. The only issue I have is that the location isn't in the most active area. It's close to the airport and mainly office buildings around, so when walking around there's not really anything to see, especially on the weekends when even the Quiznos across from the entrance isn't open. The actual hotel and room themselves are very nice however. The staff was very friendly and the cookies rocked!”

“The parking per night is ridiculously expensive. It is $14 per car per night. I expected to have two cars, so I called ahead of time, and the guy at the front desk told me they would not charge for the extra car. But when it came time to check in, the manager wanted to charge for the 2nd car. After complaining, she decided to lower the price of the 2nd car to $7 a night. I subsequently decided not to use their hotel parking at all.”

“The room was simple and comfortable. Parking was pricey, 14 dollars for one night!, and the staff unfriendly. I ordered breakfast at the restaurant. About 2 minutes after I left I realized that I had not taken my coffee with me. I walked back in and asked for a to-go cup. The waitress told me that I would be charged an additional $2.96 because I had already left the restaurant. Pretty lousy considering I had paid $14 dollars for parking, and had left a 20% tip for each dining bill. I will never eat there again.”

“Something wrong with 3rd floor ventilation. Unless that's where they put all their smokers. I asked to be moved and they did with no problems at all. Difference between 3rd and 5th floors was unbelievable. No smoke up on the 5th.”

“It's a nice hotel that's convenient to the airport. The pool's small and the jets in the hot tub didn't work. Look out for the $14 charge to park.”

“At check in the staff was friendly and the cookies were warm. Room was clean and comfortable. Got up the first morning and no hot water. Staff did not seem too concerned and not apologetic saying the engineer was on his way. Slightly different story than what I was told. Overall experience was good with exception of upset wife and cold shower.”

“I had mixed feelings about the hotel from some of the reviews I read. That was all put to rest when I arrived at the hotel. I was very impressed with the decor, staff and cleanliness of the hotel. The "Sweet Dreams" bed was to die for, and the Neutrogena bathroom products were a nice touch. I ended up using them everyday of my 5 day stay. The business center is such a great amenity to offer to hotel guest. I was able to check my email, look up directions, check in online and print my boarding pass. This is great for travelers who don't want to tote around a laptop while on vacation, and it saves on having to pay for Hi-speed internet connection during your stay. I also want to add that there were multiple families staying there during my stay due to basketball and volleyball tournaments. I requested a room away from the hustle and bustle, which the front clerk had already anticipated and had a room assigned on the 6th floor. I was amazed at how quiet and peacefully I slept. I would definitely recommend and stay at the Doubletree hotel-Santa Ana in the future.”

“Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Bring your own cleaning supplies. Cleaning staff needs serious retraining. If you're a clean freak avoid this place. Spent about 10-15 minutes cleaning the room after check in. We were there for more than a week so we experienced their once a week cleaning (if you can call it that). I left some tissue and a Q-Tip on the floor next to the side of the night table, in plain view, and sure enough it was still there after they "cleaned" the room. Do not walk barefoot on the room as they don't seem to believe in vacuuming the carpet either. The hotel is recently remodeled (late 2007-early 2008) so the beds and pillows are practically new so we didn't have problems. The bathroom had a bathtub. Kitchen is fairly adequate with a full size ref, microwave, stovetop, and coffeemaker. Wireless was very slow on peak hours so try using it when everyone else is sleeping already (after 10 PM) or early morning. Getting towels, soap, and shampoo from the front desk was no big deal for us. We just grabbed like a weeks supply of soaps and shampoos upon check in so we didn't have to go by every day. Starbucks, Subway, Baja Mexican Grill is next door and the Irvine Spectrum (20+ restaurants/Fast Food, Target, Macys, Old Navy, etc.) is a 1-2 minute drive. The 5 freeway is next to it while the 405 is about a 2 minute drive (5-7 stoplights away). Chinese, Pizza, Charo Chicken also has delivery service to the hotel.”

“This hotel is located off the 55 freeway just past the 405 interchange, a perfect location for travelers with multiple destinations such as Disneyland and Knotts. Shopping immediately across the street provides easy access to coffee shops and dining. Clearly a three star as the room accommodations are both spacious and well appointed. Comfortable and well lit, the rooms were an appreciated welcome to our tired eyes.”

“The hotel had a large event over the weekend we stayed and we felt that the guests staying overnight were not considered. The event took over the entire lobby (hard even to get to elevators) and all the parking (note: a parking fee was charged with there being no place to park). I would rate this hotel as a 2.8.”
