  • The hotel is in a very convenient location for the activities were we interested -shopping , museums, restaurants, etc.
  • The bathroom was a little small and needed some updating, new tiles, painting.

“The hotel was in a very convenient location for site seeing. We were interested in visiting the Los Angeles Betuin Buddhist Temple, Japanese town with its many restaurants, shopping, Olvera Street, the Japanese National Historic Museum - all within walking distance.”

  • Good location.
  • Bed sheet didn't change.

“A 3-star looking hotel who don't bother to change the bed sheet.”

  • The garden area was beautiful.
  • The parking cost was 24 dollars.

“The hotel was beautiful. The staff was friendly as well as the parking attendants. The beds were very comfortable. Although there was a wedding taking place in the garden area, it was still able to see how beautiful it was. The Japanese inspiration was awesome. I would definitely stay there again!”

  • My bathroom had old fixtures/tile, like Tulsa airport circa 1963. Not as nice as rest of my room.

“Rooms nicely decorated, but the bathrooms are still waiting. Front desk staff was prompt and friendly. The gardens were nice; not quite as nice as they appeared in the pictures, but still green and fresh.”

  • The Japanese garden.
  • The $24/day parking suprise! NO POOL!!!!!

“Way over rated! I'm extremley upset with the $24/day parking, paid only $55/night for room. Half as much for parking!!! Also the restaurants where good but way over priced! The rooms need to be updated.”

  • Nice clean rooms.
  • Loud outside on grounds till 2am, charged my credit card for something
    I did not have.

“The view over the gardens are beautiful during the day. But at night if you wanted sleep what was going on till after 2am was very loud and disrespectful to guests.”

  • The lobby was beautiful.
  • The rooms were average, like a Comfort Inn. No socket near the bed for phones, paid for $25 self service parking. Drapes had watermark on them.

“If you don't care about luxury or having a romantic night, then this is for you. If you wanted a romantic getaway then I was told the Holiday Inn 10 minutes away is better.”

  • It was a good place to stay for the money.
  • It was too loud throughout both the day and night due to the freeway.

“The original room I was set in was terrible. It was dirty with unwashed items still in there. But I complained and asked to be moved to a different room which ended up being pretty nice. My initial room is what gave me such a negative vibe to this place. Otherwise, the place was pretty good.”

  • Competent, efficient staff, clean quiet room, convenient location for downtown business or convention center and design district business.

“This is the ideal hotel for me when I attend trade events at the Convention Center, & when I attend meetings at the Marts & have to stay overnight. The staff is efficient, competent, & helpful. The rooms are very clean & quiet. I would stay here on a personal visit as well, if I wanted to be convenient to downtown. Thank you.”

  • Excellent, accommodating staff provided superior service.
  • Room was only so-so, with beds and pillows that were less comfortable than expected.

“Inconvenient only in that it wasn’t as close to the places I wanted to visit as I had hoped. It was within walking distance of Chinatown, though, which I visited. Hotel was beautiful but room itself was only ok and the pillows weren’t too great. The staff more than made up for the shortcomings. They were excellent and extremely helpful.”

  • Nice downtown location. Nice spacious rooms.
  • Not much to not like about this place.

“I had a pleasant experience here. The staff was pleasant and hooked me up with a really nice room. We had a really nice room overlooking the garden. The room came with a King bed and a small couch. I would definitely stay here again. Its also close to the disney concert hall.”

  • The courteous and attentive staff was a plus.
  • The room carpeting needed to be steam cleaned and a shower bar for elderly was needed.

“Kyoto Garden Hotel is a family friendly place to go for a mini vacation in the city.”

  • Character.
  • Room needs some renovation.

“Hotel has a lot of character, particularly the Japanese Garden and public spaces, but also the room. Great location and wonderful view from the room. The room itself was a bit tired and needs renovation. Lots of scratches and nicks on the furniture and stains on the carpet and bedspread. We'd stay there again.”
