• Cheap, free parking, near major bus routes, helpful staff, good overall.
• Parking filled up rapidly, sometimes parked on street, a little far from Staple's Center.

“I thought this place was going to be ghetto, but it wasn't! It's really low key, off the main strip of Figueroa but not too terribly far. One cab or bus ride (or 2 minute drive) and you can be on Figueroa and 7th, in the middle of L.A. and having dinner with friends. The staff was really helpful and the price was unbeatable. Comfy clean rooms, a pool, free parking and good staff? I'll come here again.”

• Lobby looked nice.
• Room was tiny, dirty, with ants.

“From the outside, this hotel looked fine. Once inside the room, however, it was very small. There was only one nightstand with a lamp on one side of the bed. The other side was cramped with a table with the microwave, coffeemaker and refrigerator all stacked on top of each other. The walls were dirty and there were ants. The bed looked nice, but was uncomfortable. The worst thing was being woken up at 2:00 am to banging noises and yelling outside our room and above us on the third floor. This went on for 2-3 hours even though my husband called the front desk several times. Will not stay here again!”

• Close to our destination.
• It sounded like the floor exercises for the Olympics where being held in the room above us.

“The hotel is in close proximity to downtown and to USC and the coliseum stadium. Limited parking available. There are several restaurants and fast food places close by. The hotel has an old European feeling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are average and you have limited TV channel selections.”

• Front desk person was very friendly and helpful.
• Location scared my family (bars on windows of neighboring houses).

“The hotel was clean and easy to find. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location - very centrally located to our purposes (visiting UCLA and USC).”

• Good location, not too far from USC.
• I was told on the phone I could check in at 1:00 PM, but when I arrived, I was told 3:00 PM.

• It has microwave, refrigerator, good shower, nice lighting, good attitude, laundry room, swimming pool, yard to chill.
• 10 to 15 minutes walk.

“The transportation is not bad. It is a really nice hotel.”

• Clean lobby, nice staff, friendly.
• Renovations not all completed, location is borderline.

“It is great that this business is working to make this a nice hotel. There are still some improvements to go. It is hard to renovate an old building though they are doing the best they can with what they have.”

• Hotel was near Good Samaritan Hospital for a reasonable price.
• Limited underground parking.

“Hotel was very clean, staff was cordial if not friendly. Very close to downtown and convention center.”

• Remodeled condition and felt they had a handle on security.
• The location was further than expected from staples center and is not in the better area of town.

“Overall, for a value hotel this was good and would consider staying here again if needing to be in this area. Compared to other hotels in the area best for the price.”

• Location and price.
• The carpet in my room had a lot of dirty spots.

“The location and convenience to downtown LA was good. The hotel lobby was quite nice. The room itself was nice except for the dirty spots in the carpeting. That really detracted from the my overall experience.”

• The pool was great! Housekeeping was very friendly. The room was great! Better than what I expected near downtown Los Angeles.
• Had to park across the street.

“I would recommend this hotel to people looking to stay in the Los Angeles area. It is very affordable and nice. Not too busy for pool use. The room was very nice and most of all very clean. The front desk was very helpful with directions on our destinations. If you have children the area is safe.”

• The price and location were convenient.
• Bed was not made, floor was dirty.

“The lobby and outdoor areas look good, but when we arrived the bed was not made and the bathroom floor was dirty with mud. This is not a bad choice if you need a convenient location and low price.”

• The area should be cleaned up a little.

“I will never stay at the clarion again. Their roll away beds were on a first come first served basis so my brother had to sleep on the floor. Amy room smelled very musty. Not at all happy with the clarion and will ever recommend anyone to stay there.”

• I loved the convenience of having a fridge, microwave, down pillows & comforters.
• The pool was not heated.

“Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable, the hotel was very clean and I liked the way that they were trying to conserve energy by keeping the lobby doors open in the mornings. Thank you so much!”
