• Lobby was attractive.
• Room was darken and dreary.

“The hotel is located off of what would seem more an alley than a street in the club district of West Hollywood. The lobby, though somewhat small, gives an impression of elegance that is not consistent with aging, darkly decorated and poorly lit hallways and rooms on the floors above. The overall impression is of a site that may have been trendy in the past, but is now the likely destination for party goers left drunken or drugged from the decadence of nearby nightlife.”

• The front desk staff, restaurant staff, and valet staff were incredible. I was very impressed.
• It needs to be updated more modern.

• Getting ice requires calling the restaurant!

• Rooms were large. We actually got a suite - living room will a pull out sofa and then you go up a couple of steps to the bedroom.
• Some things could use some updating but fine overall. Can't use refrigerator b/c filled with mini bar items for sale.

“We read the not so great reviews on tripadvisor.com. We were expecting the worst. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The location is outstanding! The service was pleasant and the lobby area was elegant. The rooms could use a bit of updating (old rugs, wall paper in some spots is worn). However, we loved having a suite, double sinks, granite counters, deep tub. So overall, it was great. You honestly can't beat the location!”

• The lobby was nice, location good, large rooms, bathroom good size.
• Furniture should be redone in rooms, kind of dull-looking and old!

“It was very convenient for us as my sister lives in west Hollywood and the Bar Mitzvahs we attended was close by the hotel in Beverly Hills. The restaurant was a little pricey for breakfast but the server and manager as well as all the staff in the hotel were quite friendly.”

• Right on the Sunset Strip! Great Location.
• Surrounded by various homosexual bars and clubs. I felt a bit uncomfortable.

“Contrary to popular belief, this area is a wonderful area. It is close to all major attractions in the city of LA. It's right in the heart of Beverly Hills with an absolute gorgeous rooftop swimming pool/Jacuzzi. What more can you ask?”

• Valet parking was the only option and was expensive.

“The Bel Age does show its age, but its nicely renovated and the rooms are very spacious. Good location to Hollywood attractions and a staff that was there if you needed them.”

• Beautiful rooftop pool/spa overlooking city.
• Poor thermostat control - room did not cool properly and they couldn't fix it.

“Staff, accommodations and setting was wonderful. Beautiful rooms and corridors - best view of city from rooftop pool and spa. Just beautiful, like the pictures on their website. Only problem was thermostat control in the room, they tried to fix it twice but never got it right. One room too hot, the other too cold.”

• The front desk help was a little disengaged.

“This is a beautiful hotel in a great area of Beverly Hills. The hotel is luxurious and the rooms are extremely spacious. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

• Nice big rooms.
• Having to tip the valet parkers every time I park my car.

“The best about the Bel Age, besides the pool, is the size of the rooms. When you travel for business, it feels less like a hotel room and more like a home. Their rates are also very reasonable and provides good overall value. The only downside? Valet parking. Time consuming and unnecessary.”

• Beautiful and luxurious. The pool and rooftop bar. The concierge, the balcony.
• My credit card was charged for suite service 12 hours after I had checked out. Problem was immediately handle though when I called.

“Lavish furnishings, posh amenities, everything was fabulous from the room to the linens to the amazing rooftop pool/bar. the view of sunset blvd was great and there were so many sites to see right outside the door. the concierge was the best I have seen, attended to my every need. I was initially double charged for parking (immediately attended to) and then there were the suite service charges that were billed after check out for 85.00. again, the problem was solved right away.”

• Expensive parking--$24 for night.
