“Dump, but the staff was very friendly. I heard water pipes running all night, carpets were filthy and the furniture beat up.”

• The staff was fantastically friendly, the location was beautiful, and everything felt clean and comfy!
• Slightly dated architecture, decor, and TVs. Not a lot of channels on TV and I couldn't get internet!

“Wonderful staff, very friendly, and helpful. Nice lobby, good room, great views! Definitely recommended, even though I couldn't figure out the internet situation and there weren't many channels on the TV!”

• Location and lobby.
• No heat, no basic TV stations (ABC, Fox).

“Great location in Marina Del Rey overlooking the boats; serene. Nice lobby friendly evening check in staff; although the morning staff was a little stiff and cool. Decent room with very nice bed pillows. However, after trying to turn on the heat (it is nearly Dec), I was told it is turned off for the hotel. They did send up a space heater. There are a few basic TV stations I watch, ABC, Fox and Fox news; the hotel did not offer these basic stations. There were many other stations, but not the basic ones; odd. Would I stay here if Priceline didn't place me here; absolutely no.”

• staff was very pleasant and helpful
• tv didn't work and they had no way to fix situation, rooms need attention.

“i thought this hotel didnt meet my expectations but for a short quick stay it was ok. what i didn't appreciate was the director of sales lying to us instead of just telling us hotel was not interested in helping a young couple in need of a discount on a future visit that was medical related and a emergency. the truth would have been the right thing to do.”

• I liked where it was located, right by the marina.
• The rooms were nice but the beds were not comfortable.

“Great location. Easy walking and driving distance to eating places and local beaches. Didn't see any entertainment or shopping places within easy driving or walking distance.”

• Great location, nice views of Marina.
• Hotel was ran down, not maintained to a 2.5 star standard.

“This could be a fantastic hotel! The location right on the Marina is perfect, but the problem is the management is not keeping the hotel up to date. Needs to be udated. Outside needed painted, elevators are kind of scary, updated plumbing is needed,needs new windows, and carpets. Overall, it was comfortable, but hotel is not living up to its potential.”

• Amazing price.
• The location was far most of the places we wanted to go like Hollywood and Santa Monica.

“Amazing price, a night! It was nothing fancy but had a beautiful view and was a great deal. It was far from most of the places we wanted to go like Hollywood, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills but close to Venice Beach. Overall a good experience but would stay closer to Hollywood next time.”

• This hotel should be shut-down. It is the dirtiest hotel I have ever been in.
• Filthy carpets in 3 rooms I looked at; AC was not working; and walls need repair.

“It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have traveled all over the world and I have never seen a place like this before. It is a disgrace to the city of Marina Del Rey. Would never recommend it. Better to sleep in your car. Carpeting is so stained, AC doesn't work, locks broken, water damaged walls, mold and mildew, bugs in the room. The hotel was built in the 60s and is suffering from physical and cosmetic deterioration. Balconies have torn up carpeting, dirty chairs etc.”

• The room needed a good airing out to rid chemical smell.

• Close to Starbucks, good place to run, and free parking.

“Nice location right on the water. Lots of food options nearby. Hotel not particularly nice but its clean and safe. Free parking always a plus. Easy to get on the 405. Close to Venice beach, but its takes forever to get to Santa Monica even though its not far.”

• No fitness facility.

“The location of this hotel is incredible, overlooks a marina. This day, one would expect fitness facilities, which are not on site. For a family, the bathroom was small and the restaurant, while excellent in quality. Parking is free.”

• It was quiet and there was plenty of parking.
• No refrigerator in room. Carpet in hallways and room was filthy.

“This was not a 2.5 star hotel. I have stayed in budget hotels that were nicer. Any Holiday Inn or Best Western would beat this hotel hands down. Had I know the quality was so poor I would have stayed at a different hotel.”

• The view from the room was spectacular, we had a balcony which made it even better.
• The first night we were in a room that should not have been available at all.

“The hotel needs more renovating, the first night we were in a room that was a total mess, my husband was way too sick for us to change. The wallpaper was stapled to the wall, some of the wallpaper was falling off the wall, air conditioning did not work - we had to have the balcony door open all night, also the carpet was filthy and the floor squishy - there had been a water pipe leak in the room. The refrigerator we got had food stuck in the bottom as well as a hair. We did get moved the next day, that room was much better, walls repaired, refrigerator clean - still the carpet needed to be changed and the air conditioner still did not work well. But again the view is spectacular - this hotel is directly on the Marina. I hope they do the renovations needed - this place could be great. It really was a great view. Parking was also free.”

• The great location.
• Needs to be updated, poor shower quality. Noisy and old floor boards overhead.

“It has a great location and the staff were friendly, a little overpriced for the quality of the room. The shower was poor quality. The floor board on the upper floor made the evenings very noisy and annoying. Not good for children or romantic getaways.”

• The staff was five staff. Nice view of Marina if you get a room on that side.
• The wooden floors kept me up all night.

“The staff is five-star, but this relic of a hotel should be torn down. It is practically held together with duct tape and luck. The wooden floors kept me up all night. You can hear every squeak from the room above and beside you. My bathroom mirror was smashed. The toilet seat was barely hanging on and most of the finish was worn off. I could feel the springs in the beds. There was a stain so large on the carpet next to the bed, I shudder to think what happened there. I asked to be moved and the next room was no better. Stained carpet, patched walls, ancient plumbing.”
