“Overall, a good hotel. I had a large, clean room compared to other hotels in the price range. The workout facility was good - new equipment, clean, and good equipment. The internet actually worked instead of dropped signal as I have experienced at many hotels. Breakfast was good, though expensive (buffet was $20). The coffee was supposed to be Starbucks and didn't really taste like it, so that was disappointing. I like the cookie at check in.”

“Attractive hotel very close to freeway on 4th. Loved the size of the rooms, but pretty much no view. Valet parking was only $4/day higher than self park, not including tips. Would have preferred to self park for free though. Pool is a bit small and not enough chairs and chaise the two times we were at the pool. Great fitness room.”

“It is a great hotel, clean with excellent linens and bedding. Slept really well. It is a bit of a walk to the beach and the Pier not to bad about 5-10 minutes depending on the walker. My kiddos 7 and 9 were tired on the walk back to the hotel from the beach and did complain a bit also, there are quiet a few homeless people in the area. We had no problems though and would go back.”

“I got an excellent deal on Priceline. The trouble was I could not ask for 2 beds and the hotel would not take my request over the phone. I had to wait to get there to ask for a room with two beds. The front desk clerk was so sweet she gave me a suite.”

“I travel all the time for business in much more expensive hotels located very close to this one. This hotel not only provided a better experience (no pool scene, no drunk beautiful people to wade through every night, no pricey internet that only half worked,) but also a better night sleep due to the quality of the linens and beds. All this, and a warm chocolate chip cookie every time my little boy asked (once a day was all I'd allow, but still!”

“This hotel was very clean and the facilities were quite nice. The suite was especially nice since one of us could sleep in while the other watched TV or used the computer. No fan in the bathroom was the only minus about the room, which was otherwise comfortable. The parking was also convenient, though pricey. We did not interact with staff except at check-in and check-out, but the interaction we had was pleasant.”

“The only thing I didn't like was the suite sitting area which wasn't that nice. I hated the smoking room because it felt dirty and smelled. However there was no problem changing rooms the next day when a non-smoking was available. The room was not ready when we arrived in the evening so the hotel treated us to dinner. Unfortunately the food was mediocre and I would never eat there while paying the inflated prices. Nice location, nice staff, comfortable bed but ugly rooms.”

“Very disappointed. Not all rooms have balconies or mini fridge. Hope and pray u don't get the view of the homeless shelter perched just beyond the loud 10 freeway. Pool never stocked with towels to dry ourselves. Waited 1 hour in cold and soaking wet even though I called hotel operator at least four times. Hotel is ok maybe if u have kids 12 and over. Not within walking distance of anything for those of us whose families have kids <12. Deadly intersections, precarious young drivers speeding and a freeway to boot! For such families a car is a must and so is the parking fee hotel charges $18/day plus a daily service parking fee they sneak on to checkout bill. Stay away from $24 buffet. Ask for the menu instead, that way our kids don't pay $24 for a bowl of cereal and pancakes they are too full to eat. The menu is better food than buffet anyway.”

“Staff was friendly, housekeeping supervisor let herself into our room while we were there, but without our permission. She knocked once and entered with her key at the same time. Room service glasses were in hallway for 1 1/2 days without being taken away. Other than these two things, the hotel was comfortable and staff was friendly.”

“This was a very nice hotel. It surpassed what we were expecting. The room was very nice and well maintained. The public areas were beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated to the Santa Monica pier and the 3rd street Promenade. We used it as a jumping off point to Universal Studios. It's not real close but we preferred the beach local versus the valley.”

“Pricey for what you get but for the area it was to be expected. The room had some problems - shower drain was clogged and there was no caffeinated coffee. They rectified both promptly, however, so that's all you can ask for.”

“This is not worth the money. The only thing I really liked was the proximity to the marina 3. Otherwise the rooms were just not very nice and the hotel was not very well appointed in general.”
