  • Location.
  • The bathroom was old and dirty.

“The hotel is in a great location, close to the harbor, wharf, and nightlife. Overall I enjoyed the hotel, however it was old and somewhat dirty, especially the bathroom.”

Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[2] • Location:[8]

  • Location to Stearn's Wharf.
  • Hair in bathroom, no AC, screens on windows allowed all the noise in and no glass.

“The only saving grace for this hotel is the location. I would not recommend it to anyone. The only reason we stayed there was because no other hotel would accommodate us for one night on Memorial Weekend.”

Cleanliness:[1] • Staff:[1] • Location:[1]

  • I liked the location.
  • Smelly, loud, and hot.

“Worst hotel ever. Honestly, if you get a roadside room you are in trouble. The floors are dirty, the toilet smelled of a homeless man's urine, and the room was not that cool. Only bright side was the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion were a good brand.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • Convenient to beach.
  • Staff was not very accommodating; noisy location.

“This hotel did not come close to its star rating. For example, the staff wanted to charge an additional for two double beds versus one king. There are two sides to the hotel: the north side is very noisy on the intersection of Cabrillo and Castillo Blvd while the rooms on the south side appear to be more updated (with plantation shutters, etc.).”

  • Location.
  • Ants in room, just keep your sweets in containers.

“Good location, with harbor just across the street. Small rooms, nice decor and great large screen TV on wall.”

Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[2] • Location:[9]

  • The location was very close to state ST, Stearns wharf, and the ocean.
  • Windows did not lock, staff cleaned outside room at 5am, bathroom dirty.

“This hotel would have been great if we'd only paid about $49 a night. The front desk staff was nice but the maintenance staff was more interested in my girlfriend than fixing the broken window locks. I don't recommend staying here but acknowledge that Santa Barbara hotels are very expensive.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[9]

  • It is on the ocean front.
  • Late night time noise on the week end.

“My room was nice, clean and the ground floor as I requested. The continental breakfast was very nice. Being located on the ocean front was great.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[1] • Location:[10]

  • The plantation shutters in the room gave it a beachy feel.
  • The front desk woman was utterly rude when I checked in.

“For the price, this hotel met my expectations. It was in a nice location and was very inexpensive for the area. The front desk girl was extremely rude to me upon entering and gave me absolutely no information. I had to ask where my room was located, where to park etc. She answered with a roll of the eyes, as if I should know these things. Other than that, I found the hotel a pleasant experience. I would recommend this hotel for the traveler who needs a basic hotel room for a good price. There were no perks or luxuries, and the bathroom area was small and dated looking but fine for a quick shower. I wouldn't have wanted to stay more than one or two nights there but it met its' purpose for my business travel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location was great, flat screen TV.
  • No AC.

“Good alternative hotel to the overpriced "upscale" resorts that require a 2 night minimum. Flat screen TV was a nice surprise as well as a ceiling fan. Large and clean bathroom. No noticeable "nasty spots" anywhere in room.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[10]

  • Location.
  • No Jacuzzi.

“The hotel is great, very clean, there was some problem smell coming out of the drain in our sink, but other than that, everything was wonderful. Continental breakfast was very nice, but they have to go to fresh boiled eggs, or eliminate them all together. I love the location, and this is my second time staying here, so I would definitely do it again.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[10]

  • Great location.
  • Late night personnel uninformed.

“We had a great room at a great location; however for the rating of the hotel, it was the highest price I've ever paid, not worth that kind of money, even against the 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Maybe due to summer crowds, but not everything was sold out that weekend. But due to location of family we needed to stay near the downtown.”

  • Location.
  • The staff could be better.

“The room was cozy and quaint. Very clean and had some wonderful toiletries. The best television we have experienced in any hotel room. The pool was clean and perfect temp. The only suggestion I have to make things perfect is to get rid of the hard boiled eggs they served at breakfast and replace them with fresh boiled, still in shell eggs. Other than that, everything was perfect!”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[5] • Location:[10]

  • Great location.
  • Air conditioning did not work.

“Nice Hotel, great location; however, staff did not respond to report of problems with air conditioning unit and neglected to leave coffee for coffee maker. The rate was a little high; therefore, we expected top service.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • Right across the street from the beach. Great location.
  • Room amenities weren't the best.

“If you are looking for a fairly central reasonable priced hotel near the beach, this is the place for you. Don't expect fluffy towels or a bath tub (our room only had a shower that the knobs were the opposite temperature). But it's a decent bed with basics.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[5] • Location:[7]

  • Newly remodeled rooms. Close to beach & state ST.
  • Old windows were noisy. Still under construction.

“While this is an older hotel with older amenities and styling. It is close to state ST. And across from the beach. Our modest room was nicely remodeled and clean. The hotel is still undergoing remodeling but they seem to be making a good effort to make it nice. I'd stay again if I had to do a stopover trip in S.B. But would not stay there for a vacation trip or romantic getaway.”

  • Had ants in the room and the AC didn't work.

“It's ok, I was disappointed overall.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • The breakfast and one person staff were great!
  • Much too expensive for the room, bath, and view.

“Will avoid this hotel because there was only one staff member on site and one housekeeper.”
