“The room was fine, but although it called itself a pet friendly hotel, pets could not be left alone, so there was no way for a couple to use the restaurants together. The pet area was not cleaned up and in the morning the sprinklers were on so it was not possible to take the dog there. The room was on the seventh floor, it would be better to have a ground floor for pets. The soap in the room had been used, and the carpet not very clean, other than that the room was very nice.”

“Upon arriving and hour after check in time they said my room was not clean. Another hour later they sent me to check if the room was clean before they would give me keys because they said they were too busy. I took all my luggage upstairs, no maids in sight and the room was locked. When I finally got in the room it was old and outdated. The bathroom smelled and the toilet chain broke so you could not flush it. Also the air conditioner wasn't working, despite calling for help, no one ever came. We had to prop the door open to let air in from the hallway. If you ever have too stay here make sure you get a remodeled room. The customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. Beware!”

“Nice hotel but no fridge/coffee maker/microwave in room. Decent room but a bit dark; 2 lamps were unplugged, one not working at all. Large, fairly clean bathroom. Bed was a bit on the hard side but not bad. Excellent value for the price.”

“The hotel was out of rooms and could only give me a smoking room. The room was filthy. Could not get an extra blanket the first night and was told I couldn't get one for the second night as well. Had to wait 2 hours just to get an extra pillow. Supposed to be a 3 star, should be downgraded. I have been to better motel 6's for half the money. Very disappointed.”

“The casino area was attractive and clean; however, the hotel decor was hideous. By hideous, I am referring to stereotypical Southwestern-style designs in very ugly colors. The hotel decor was in sharp contrast to the attractive appearance of the casino. There was a nice variety of shops and places to eat, which was a positive. The other glaring negative was the late check-in time: 3 p.m., or 2 p.m. if they have a high volume of guests.”

“My room was old and dirty. I also requested a wake up call for 5:00 am, and the call rang at 6:00 am, and I missed my flight. I had to buy a new ticket on a other airline.”

“Me and a friend from work jumped into the car at the last minute decided to go to Reno. The bars in the casino we crowded some asked around and someone suggested the pure country bar which was a little down the road, we took a cab there and had a blast.”

“Our stay at this hotel was totally satisfactory. Nice, clean room. Easy to check in and out, and simple to find from the freeway. Parking was interesting and getting up to the room, an adventure but a very nice hotel. Don't eat at any of the restaurants! Worst food Ive ever eaten and the service paled in comparison to the food. Our friends ate at dolce, and they recommended it. Anything else? Stay away! Even the buffet was horrid. I will definitely stay here again next season, and snowboard Mt. Rose again.”

“This is my second stay at the Sierra Grand and will not be the last. I am a smoker and usually do not stay in a smoking room since I'm with my kids but I tried it this time and will never again. The rooms aren't as clean (not just the air, the glasses, walls etc) so, that was my problem, however, not having an ice machine on every floor is a mistake.”

“Beautiful lobby, lots of restaurants and entertainment at the hotel, staff was very helpful and friendly. The biggest complaint I had was that they charge $13 per day for internet. That is a ridiculous price! Also, the bathroom could have been cleaner. Otherwise, the hotel was great and exceeded my expectations.”
